    • Octavia's art professor is named Professor Pickman.
    • The eldritch creature known as the King bears several striking visual similarities to The Kingin Yellow
    • IMP takes on several jobs set in the fictional town of Akrham, Massachusetts, and is even sent to deliver justice to Robert Marsh.
  • Octavia’s favorite band is Starship Velociraptor.. And her favorite book series is Trogdor the Barbarian.
  • Both Blitz and Loona enjoy "Waiting on the bus in the rain, in the rain..." even though Loona finds the Weather rather hit-or-miss. And later sing it together in Chapter 45.
  • Loona is a fan of manga. In particular Beastars, Fairy Tail and Hellsing.
  • Rufus' derringer is named after the Dark Crystal character Aughra
  • The demon responsible for taking unwanted pictures of Loona and Octavia during their first playdate is named Richard Dees after the Stephen King photographer of the same name.
  • Rufus' shop is called the Emporium Gallorium in a clear nod to the Castle Rock curio shop featured in several Stephen King stories.
  • Blitzo and Stolas' favorite movies are Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron & Hidalgo and The Princess Bride respectively.
  • Chapter 11 has Rufus gifting Octavia with a short barreled .45 automatic. The princess names it Marian, and Rufus happily refers to it as a Maiden; a clear reference to Maid Marian
  • The setting for Verosika's final stop of her tour in Chapter 12 is a gladiatorial stadium in the Anger Ring named the Argento Arena after Italian Horror director Dario Argento.
  • The character of Nessus the Centaur, is a homage to The Divine Comedy and the female version of the character in Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, both being from the Violence Ring.
  • Chapter 13 name drops this world's version of The Twilight Saga & DeviantArt called Daylight & DelinquentArt
  • As Loona and Octavia clean up after a long day of gardening, the former mentions how Stolas thinks they're good for one another; she jokes that maybe he thinks they're "in lesbians" with each other.
  • A particularly relaxing movie date with Blitz ends with a laughing Stolas exclaiming "You are TEARING ME APART, BLITZY!"
  • While trying out dresses for an upcoming birthday gala, Stella suggests one with ruffles and is surprised when Octavia requests something less frilly.
Stella: You were rather fond of [ruffles] earlier?
Octavia: Yeah, when I was twelve and crazy for Frigid and wouldn't stop singing "Set it Free."
  • Octavia names the Gargoyle she taxidermies in Chapter 17 Brooklyn. And in the same chapter, when Loona licks her cheek, she screams in mock-protest "Ugh! My mouth touched dog mouth! Get the acid! Get the iodine!"
  • Hell has it's own version of Reddit called Deddit.
  • When Loona and Slaanesh's first meeting quickly escalates to near-violence, one of the serpent's bodyguards threatens to fold her five ways, and leave her for a cat toy.
  • Octavia's first ever Taxidermy project, at the age of 12, was with a wild Phoenix playmate that she lovingly named Fawkes.
  • Octavia joins Loona and her hellhound bodies in ripping into Hell's period drama Slaughterton Abbey.
  • Apparently Vigo The Carpathian is Octavia's distant uncle.
  • Loona plays the piano and sings She Used to Be Mine in Chapter 22. In addition to the author stating it's meant to be the Chloe Addams' cover, it's also very likely meant to be a reference to EMositeCC9's She Is… video.
  • When choosing horses for Loona's first ride around the grounds, Stella selects an old war charger named Kratos who's significantly older than the other mounts and served Stolas in his last campaign.
  • While M&M share a passionate moment together with a bubble bath in their own home, Moxxie ends up turning on A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder as background noise.
  • During his brushing session with Loona, Blitzo turns on Ghost Shark, which both find to be just as horrendous as the title implies, aside from a few cheesy kill scenes.
  • Amid the chaos in Chapter 25, Rufus quotes L.J. from Resident Evil: Apocalypse, saying "Motherfucker, please, my shit is custom."
  • Before IMP and company can leave the city by car, an ork blows up the Abrams tanks in IMP's parking lot. The debris crush Blitz's van. His reaction? "Well that's just great! Now what the fuck are we supposed to do? We're in some real shit now! Game over!". Rufus' response? "Shut up, Hudson."
  • After fighting a long and hard battle against a Behemoth who threatens to swallow them whole, Rufus kills it with the only fitting response: a mouthful of supershotgun and the command to "Swallow this." When an elated Moxxie begins celebrating their victory over a walking battle tank, Rufus brings him back to center with another line. "As a great veteran once said, son, we just crossed the street. Let's not throw a party til we're out of the City."
  • Reginald chastises the elder dragon for fighting with Stella, saying "Get away from her, you ''Bitch''."
  • When Rufus finally returns to Goetia Keep after spending two and a half days fighting and killing his way through Pentagram City and Imp City, he opines "I am completely ''out'' of ammo... That's never happened to me before."
  • The chief of the elder dragons is named Ferrovax.
  • Blitzo calls Rufus Dirty Harry, after the sinner explains his preference to revolvers.
  • During his Badass Boast and Speech to everyone in Stolas' palace, Blitzo happily holds aloft his new heavenly shotgun and quotes Ash William's famous line: "This…is my BOOMSTICK!"
  • Chapter 43 reveals that Dr. Crest's book, is in fact De Vermis Mysteriis.
  • The world of Wonderland apparently exists here and is fully accessible to the royalty of Hell.
  • Alastor coins a familiar quote when the leads come to him for help: "If you're good at something never do it for free."
  • Several demons are shocked when Rufus glasses Alastor at the hotel bar. Angel Dust takes it in stride, filming the ensuing fistfight with his phone and exclaiming "Whao, wolf man's got nards!"
  • Alastor quotes a rather well-known line from the show Mighty Changing Forest Rangers: "Too much pink energy is dangerous."
  • Lilith remarks that the magical ritual circle needed to access Mother's realm is the most complicated bit of sorcery she and Lucifer have attempted "since the third Age when that brute in green armor tried to rip and tear his way through Violence."
  • Rufus' fondness for the Alien franchise extended to him creating a customized Pulse Rifle from traditional steel and walnut furniture, much to Loona's amusement.
  • Both The Man Who Made the Monster and Wyrm of Doom are used for the forging scene in Chapter 52.
  • With music set and everything in place for them to begin crafting weapons Stormy loudly proclaims "Let's make some cannons!" Rufus agrees with "Bitches Love Canons"
  • Upon seeing the power of his new guns, Rufus happily says: ''"Groovy"''. Loona gives him two punches on the shoulder for it, calling him a nerd.
  • When an improvised bomb fails to go off during the finale, Blitz asks ''"Where's the kaboom? There's supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!"''.
  • Loona calls one of the monster in Mother's Army, resembling a giant butterfly Film/Mothra as she shoots it down, much to Vaggie's amusement. Loona coins if that would be racist.
  • After the first portal to Hell fails, Blitzo snaps at Charlie who frustratedly tells him, she and the others are trying their best. The angry imp has this response to that: "Losers always cry about their best! WE'RE WINNERS! AND WINNERS GO HOME AND FUCK THE PROM QUEEN!"
  • Yoshimo and Charlie sheepishly make a reference to Helluva Boss and their iconic episode descriptions in Chapter 59.
    Yoshimo: And things...happened.
Charlie: Yeah, they sure do happen around here, don't they?
  • In Chapter 61, Rufus appears for Krampusnacht leaning on a cane and wrapped in a high collared long coat, making Blitz think of Christopher Walken in The Dead Zone Film.
