Episode 4: This Guy are Love Sick
The “assignment” Yusuke reads at the beginning that turns out to be Ms. Tsurusaki’s fanfiction is a Superman/Batman slashfic. Erika asks if Batman cheated on Spider-Man.
When Tsubomi mentions that she had never met Erika's mom before, the scene cuts to a rather bizarre version of the opening of How I Met Your Mother featuring Cure Egret with a camera in front of her face, Cure Passion, Cure Marine with an eyepatch, Jotaro Kujo, and Cure Twinkle.

Episode 6: A Cure's Chicken Soup
When Erika claims that she and Tsubomi have fought several monsters already, the montage of foes they’ve supposedly faced that Tsubomi doesn’t remember includes not just Desertrians, but a Negatone, a Hoshina, a Plug Robonoid, Mewtwo, and Ice Age.
Sena points out that Sayaka had mistakenly joined the American football club instead of the soccer club.
The Stinger has Erika becoming a medium with Tatsumi as her first client.
After Azusa’s “actor’s curse” causes Tsubomi and Erika to sound like actual girls, The Stinger shows that Erika’s voice has been transferred to Emi Yusa.
The Drama Club ends up performing a rendition of Space Jam.
The caption at the end of the episode ends with 'Today's experiment.....Failed.', which is a hallmark typical of Excel♡Saga episodes.
