Armor
- The Cryptlurker equipment series resembles the ones found in the Dark Souls series. During the Live Letter where they were introduced, Yoshida subtly admits it was inspired by "a certain series" but it will not be a collaboration.
- The Artifact Armor for the Dark Knight in Shadowbringers is called the Bale Armor. This is a reference to similarly named armor in Final Fantasy XI, but there's a distinct look about this armor compared to that set. It's got two horns which, though uneven, seem to be like pointed ears on a cowl. Unlike all other Dark Knight AF gear, the helm covers only half the face (the Stormblood armor shows the face when the visor is lifted, but normally hides it; the Heavensward armor hides it completely) and gives you white glowing eyes. And from the front, the back skirting looks almost like a cape. So, it strongly resembles a certain Caped Crusader and shares a name with one of the actors who played the character... and it's exclusive to the Dark Knight job.
- The Artifact Armor for the new Reaper class in Endwalker takes more than a few visual cues from Bloodborne.
- For completely removing some gear slot from your glamour design, there's "The Emperor's New" gear, from pants to rings to shields, all of which is completely invisible.
- The Phoenix Riser helmet and suit that's rewarded for Moonfire Faire 2023 (or bought in the Mogstation afterwards) is definitely based on Super Sentai/Power Rangers.
