Equipment
- The storage robot that accompanies the players is the Mining Utility Lift-Engine, or M.U.L.E.
- The Abyss Bar is staffed by an All-Purpose Droid with a prominent white and red color scheme, named Lloyd.
- The BRT7 Burst Fire Gun is Robocop's pistol in all but name. Sadly, it lacks any auto-aim capabilities, but shreds up bugs just fine regardless. Your move, creep. note
- The Engineer's Breach Cutter is a modified mining tool that fires a line of plasma—it's basically the Line Gun from Dead Space.
- The LOK-1 Smart Rifle's "line curving from the gun's barrel to the enemy" bullet trajectory indicator is identical to the one used by Titanfall's Smart Pistol.
- Choosing the Thin Containment Field upgrade for the Driller's Experimental Plasma Charger lets you detonate a charged Secondary Fire shot with the pistol's primary shot, replicating an Unreal Shock Combo.
- Plenty of references to Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000:
- The Explosive Reload overclock for the Driller's Subata 120 sidearm gives it micro-explosives that embed themselves into the enemy and detonate when the pistol is reloaded, essentially turning it into a manually-activated bolt pistol.
- One of the hairstyle options is a mohawk with a description that originally read, "The perfect look for monster slaying." This was later changed to "What time is it? It's slayin' time."
- The boxy Milspec weapon skins from Season 3 are just a few winged skulls and double-headed eagles away from an official Warhammer 40,000 crossover, and even default to Cadian green.
- The Driller's default appearance and loadout brings to mind the Space Marine Assault Centurion squad. One of the official promotional pictures is an example of said squad, whose members are yellow and armed with siege drills and flamethrowers.

- One of the companies that brews several of the beers is The Seventh Dwarves Brewery.
- One of the available beers is Flintlocke's Delight. Fittingly enough, it causes explosions everywhere when drunk.

- The Smart Stout has a subtle one that's easy to miss:Imbibe enough of this rich, golden nectar and you'll be solving complex orbital insertion equations faster than you can say "This drink, I like it! Another!"
