Flash vs. Arrow is the very first annual crisis crossover television serial, of The CW's Arrowverse told across The Flash and Arrow.
Compared to what was to come, this crossover was much more low-key affair. Team Flash is battling a new metahuman Prism that can induce a Hate Plague when Oliver, Felicity, and John shows up looking for a lead on a boomerang-crazy criminal that's been lurking in Starling City. Barry is ecstatic at the chance to team up with Oliver, but Oliver decides to use it as opportunity to train the newbie hero Drill Sergeant Nasty style, which Barry chafes at. Barry gets hit with the Hate Plague forcing Oliver to fight his friend to save him. Then Team Flash decides to visit Starling City where they take down Captain Boomerang who has a grudge against Lyla and A.R.G.U.S..
Flash vs. Arrow was broadcast in two episodes on December 3 and December 4, 2014.

Flash vs. Arrow contains examples of the following tropes:
- Arc Villain: Captain Boomerang, though he doesn't actually appear until "The Brave and the Bold". He is the reason Team Arrow decided to take a trip to Central City.
- Fish out of Water: The two hero teams aren't suited for their respective cities. As Joe points out, the Arrow is still wanted for murder. Even if Starling City is now turning a blind eye to his previous crimes, the CCPD have no such incentive to do so. Meanwhile, a hero like the Flash is not exactly well-equipped to deal with a Wretched Hive like Starling City.
- Let's You and Him Fight: The Flash and the Arrow fight when the former is under the influence of Bivolo's powers. Turns out they are more-or-less evenly matched since Barry's powers are countered by Oliver's combat experience. Oliver insists in a rematch in "The Brave and the Bold". It isn't until two years later in Invasion! (2016) that we find out that Barry beat Oliver.
- Rogues' Gallery Transplant: Captain Boomerang. He's a prominent Flash Rogue and Suicide Squad member in the comics, but here his beef is with Team Arrow ally Lyla and Team Flash only ends up battling him because they're visiting Starling City.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Zig-zagged. Oliver and Felicity take Barry's new powers in stride, while Diggle and Lyla are in complete shock over them, beginning the Arrowverse's best Running Gag.
