A Short-Lived American Crime Drama that follows an aggressive prosecutor (Jennifer Finnigan) returning to work after having her first child and facing difficult cases.

The series also stars Kimberly Elise, Christian Kane, John Carroll Lynch, Jon Seda, Cress Williams, and David James Elliott.

It aired on CBS for two seasons.

    • John Marinelli (Jordan Belfi), one of Annabeth's fellow attorneys in the prosecutor's office, who, in "A Father's Story", is having an affair with a defense attorney in a murder case that leads to the accused killer getting off and the defense attorney being fatally gunned down by the victim's angry father. The next time we see Marinelli, he's working as a defense attorney in the episode "Maternal Instinct".
  • As Himself: Indiana Pacers legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Reggie Miller in "Internet Bride". He's playing a game of pickup basketball with Jimmy Conlon and his investigator Ray.
  • Character Death: Jack, Annabeth's husband, is killed by a drunk driver in the first season finale.
    • Maureen is shot and killed in the series' finale, "Eminent Domain".
  • Dirty Cop: Chris Veeder (Eric Stoltz), in the three-part episode ("Drink the Cup", "Fall From Grace" and "Eminent Domain") that concludes the series. He's the leader of a corrupt drug unit that's involved in two murders (including one of the only decent cop in the unit), a prostitution ring and money laundering.

  • Serial Killer: A patrolman in the episode "Deacon" is revealed to be a serial killer, with killings dating back at least 20 years. He's willing to confess, but only if he can make a statement in court, which Annabeth is totally against. With the aid of her two investigators, she manages to find his stash of 'trophies' that he took from each victim.
  • You're Drinking Breast Milk: Happened in the office. Annabeth is expressing and storing her breast milk in the fridge. One of her male co-workers ends up putting her breast milk in his coffee.
