Arthur

Sequel Episode in this series.
  • In "Arthur Writes a Story", Arthur has to write a narrative for school. The story he chooses is of how he got his dog, Pal, which we see at the end of "Arthur's Pet Business."
  • In "The Chips Are Down", D.W. and Binky, having eaten green potato chips, mistakenly believe that they're poisoned and are going to die. The two become friends over this incident, trying to do as much as they can before their deaths. Turns out the chips being poisoned was merely a rumor, which embarrasses D.W. in the following episode, "Revenge of the Chip".
  • "Buster Baxter, Cat Saver" has a small B-plot of D.W. driving Arthur crazy with the "Crazy Bus" song. The episode it's paired with ("Play it Again, D.W.") has this as the main focus.
  • "Buster's Back" sets up Buster's return back to Elwood City after his absence for a large chunk of the second season; "The Ballad of Buster Baxter" continues the plot by focusing more on what has happened since he's been gone.
  • "Meet Binky" continues the plot surrounding the band that wrote graffiti all over the school from "Binky Rules."
  • "Arthur's Baby" and "D.W.'s Baby" are the same story of Kate's birth, told from different points of view. Arthur's friends tell him how much work it'll be to have a baby around the house, while D.W. stays on top of things at first, but soon gets jealous of Kate's attention.
  • In "D.W.'s Snow Mystery", D.W.'s prized snowball is stolen from the freezer, and she wants to know who did it. Cue a "Rashomon"-Style plot where Arthur's friends and family all give their own accounts on what may have happened. "Return of the Snowball", six seasons later, has the snowball show up again in the freezer one night. D.W. goes through extensive measures to keep it safe, and hires Brain to analyze the likelihood of how it reappeared. In the end, Arthur confesses that he simply bought an unflavored snow cone and passed it off as the snowball so D.W. would shut up about it. The arc finally gets concluded in season 25 with "All Will Be Revealed!", where D.W.'s Imaginary Friend, Nadine, reveals that she kept the snowball to prevent it from being stolen.
  • Topics introduced in "Sue Ellen's Little Sister" are expanded upon in "Big Brother Binky" and "Wish You Were Here."
  • In "Binky Goes Nuts," Binky is diagnosed with a peanut allergy and has to find a peanut-free Chinese restaurant in order to enjoy Chinese food again; in "Big Brother Binky," Binky and his parents visit the restaurant again after telling Binky that they're going to adopt a baby girl from China. At the end of the episode, the Barnes family visits the restaurant for a third time with new family member Mei-Lin.
  • "Sue Ellen Gets Her Goose Cooked" is about Sue Ellen trying to cure her addiction to Virtual Goose. In the paired episode, "Best of the Nest," everyone starts playing the game's new version.
  • "The Blizzard" (season 4) features the town pooling their food and coming together to deal with a power outage. A radio broadcaster makes wildly inaccurate forecasts throughout. Much of this happens again during "The Blackout" (season 12), although with a heat wave, with Arthur's dad remembering how bad the forecasts were.
