    Main Self
"I'm a relatively common person... I don't understand why people like me."
A kid who has a lot of problems. He has no sense of true identity.

Tropes:

  • Big Eater: Surprising, considering how skinny he is. As a kid, he used to go to meetings purely for the snacks. He tends to eat a lot of sweets. This helps his hypoglycemia, so if he can't eat sugar, he'll get dizzy. Wonder what his metabolism's made of...
  • Bishōnen: His friends describe him as such. Is it the eyes?
  • Bi the Way: He likes both men, women, and everything in between.
  • Hidden Depths: Not many people know about his black-and-white thinking and personality. They're vastly different, but he hides it so well that even his mother and therapist can't tell if he's breaking down.
  • Abusive Parents: His parents act nice externally, but what's been done can never be taken back. It's a wonder how he's stable enough to be around others.
  • Stepford Smiler: All three types in one.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Told this constantly, but will not believe it.
  • Picky Eater: Although this is due to sensory issues.
  • Properly Paranoid: He has been stalked for nearly seven years. Of course he'd be paranoid!

    "The Good / Serious"
  • Declaration of Protection: Always insists on this.
  • The Mentor: Will teach anything that he knows for someone else. Are you struggling? He will provide tips and strategies for you to test out.

    "Dark"
  • Everyone Has Standards: Though he'd hurt a human without batting an eye, animals are the one thing that he cannot stand seeing in pain.
  • The Gadfly: Sometimes says the wrong thing to provoke an angry response intentionally. He enjoys seeing people panic from his words, even presence, whether it's E-KARS or the closest one to him. The latter is mostly due to breakdowns.
  • Blood Lust: Did he cut himself accidentally? He'll let it well up for a while instead of treating it. The reason for this is because he likes seeing it. Disgusting.
  • Blood Knight: He doesn't care about the main objective of a game. He can clear waves of boss zombies by himself, taking on 3v1s, and can predict every enemy attack. Not for any noble reason... for satisfaction.
  • Death Seeker: Ironically, he is extremely suicidal and looks for any reason to be belittled so he'd have the motivation to take his own life.
  • Dissonant Laughter: See Blood Knight above. This is only noticeable if you hear it or see it.

    "Prankster / Childish Ambivalence"
  • Hurricane of Puns: Never skips out on a chance to make a pun.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Never realizes if he hurts people, and will apologize profusely every time. If he's getting a kick out of something grim, it's never toward someone.
  • Lovable Rogue: Most people like this part of Self, even if he makes some dark jokes.
  • Master of Unlocking: An achievement hunter, he'll do his damn best to unlock everything within a game. Is there a mode that blocks the way to finishing the game? He will go through and train himself for months to unlock that mode. Ah, dedication!
  • Oral Fixation: See Big Eater under Self. Along with this, he'll chew on his lip or will chew his fingers up. One or the other.
  • Real Men Hate Sugar: Subverted in every way possible. Sneaks a piece or five from Jenn's or his friend's houses every time. Halloween candy is gone within a week... or month, if controlled somehow.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: He'd bake anything for you if you're friends with him.
  • The Sneaky Guy: Can do most things without getting caught, knows how to walk without being heard, and plays assassins in video games. Easily.
  • Sweet Tooth: There's a small pocket in his backpack filled with candy. He'd skip over anything else if it meant having sweets.
  • Admiring the Abomination: When playing FE:A, his first reaction to Grima's true face is... "Aw, adorable!". Along with that, he enjoys seeing final bosses of games, especially if they're horrifying and gory, like Zero from dreamland3. Nothing changed in ten years.
  • Creepy Good: He doesn't have many friends who will talk to him because of this. He does, however, have a habit of rushing in to protect his friends.
  • Friend to all Living Things: He gets along with every single animal he comes across! He held a snake without any prior experience, and it cuddled up in his sweater.
  • Morality Chain: His close friends play this role. He needs to talk to someone, or he'll go off the deep end. See the "Dark" character folder.
  • Nice Guy: He will be nice to you, no matter what. Even if he hates your guts.
  • No Social Skills: His thoughts are disorganized while speaking, he doesn't know the difference between right and wrong unless told, and his mother doesn't understand him if he tries to explain something. He doesn't have many friends because of this.
  • Obliviously Evil: "Does that guy have anything? No? Kill him."
  • Pet the Dog: Despite all of the dark things he says, he genuinely loves his friends and proves this in games.
  • Pungeon Master: See Hurricane of Puns. Most likely considered to be annoying.
