Recap page for episodes of Dinotopia (Miniseries). Please note that the Miniseries is sometimes releases as one film.
Part 1
The first episode introduces the viewers to two teenage half-brothers named Karl and David Scott end up flying into a storm with their father Frank on his private plane. They loose control of the plane and end up crashing it in the ocean. Now separated from their father the brothers wash up on the shore of an uncharted Island. Exploring the Island Karl and David meet a man named Cyrus Crabb who reveals that the name of the Island is Dinotopia and leads them to a nearby village. Within the village they are stunned to see an Ankylosaurus, which is then helped by a young woman named Marion Waldo. The brothers the quickly manage to befriend Marion and take a brachiosaurus; which is typically just referred to as a brach or bus, to Waterfall City. While traveling through the Rainy Basin they are stopped by a storm and later even attacked by a herd of Tyrannosaurus Rex, but were thankfully saved by Oonu and other members of the Skybax Corps and are escorted the rest of the way to Waterfall City. Once they enter the city they are introduced to Mayor Waldo; who also happens to be Marion's father, and get registered and are told that no one has ever managed to leave Dinotopia. Shortly after Marion introduce the brothers to Zipeau; a stenonychosaurus
librarian, who agreed to temporarily house them. The two brothers also start going to school to be taught about life in Dinotopia by Marion and Zipeau, though Karl does so begrudgingly. The two brothers then get in a fight over Karl cheating in his exam, their relationship with their father and Dinotopia, causing them both to go down one of the many waterfalls in Waterfall City and wash up near a ancient temple. The brothers are thankfully discovered by Marion and Zipeau, with Zipeau revealing that they just discovered an entrance to the World Beneath.
