As the roleplay adapts multiple pieces of media, and most assume you've consumed said media already, all spoilers regarding those series will be unmarked. You Have Been Warned
Our avatars are posting on a forum thread is a forum Play-by-Post Game hosted on this very wiki's forums. In it, users roleplay as the characters depicted in the various avatars in their gallery. But rather than meeting in person, the characters themselves are all posting in that forum thread as users.note Interactions range from the serious to the silly.

Tropes applying to the roleplay include:
#-C
- '70s Hair: Josuke Higashikata, and his savior, Flash Young. Also, Ito from Come On! 285 Enemies.
- Abhorrent Admirer: Telepathy!Miku towards Taru; to the point of Taru telling her that it's a telephone, Miku seeming...interested, to say the least...and Taru outright telling her "that's disgusting". Not like Miku cares.
- Aborted Arc: Jang Deok-Su's fate. He was supposed to go through the 33rd Squid Game, but due to BSOAG'88's ban from the forums, this never came to a conclusion.
- Mini's arc came to a close simply because Neonocto ran out of steam.
- Abuse Escalation: After Claidheamh was rendered crippled and sent into a coma by Flash Young, Claire was responsible for taking care of him. Instead, she decided to start abusing him, starting off with just minor mishaps and generally comedic abuse, which was considered harmless due to the fact he was noted to have a Healing Factor for quite some time. Then she started really beating on her ancestor to the point where those who initially disliked Claidheamh for his savagery and stubbornness soon started telling Claire off for continuing to beat on him. It took Flash Young again to beat Claire into the ground after her continued abuse of her ancestor.
- Abusive Parents:
- Implied for Boronco. Who is intentionally going under Chadra. he states that his father doesnt have the best qualities raising him... before it being revealed he Only praises him for the good qualities, And Chadra running away.
- Inesite was this to Larimar as he constantly mistreated her before he outright abandons her when she comes out as a lesbian. He only gets worse after his first death as Inesite tries to torment his daughter as a Vengeful Ghost.
- An alternative version of Commander Tartar is revealed to be this to his entire family as C-16 reveals that he hits her when angered. In fact Tartar thinks so little of her that he questions why he’s even calling her that.
- Absolute Xenophobe: As in his film of origin, Koba despises anyone who isn’t an ape like himself.
- Adaptational Comic Relief: In canon, Light Yagami is a Manipulative Bastard who desires to enforce his idea of justice upon the entire world and comes frighteningly close to achieving it. As played by LackingEff0rt, he's a goofy, ditzy Keet who mixes up the Death Note with a book of signatures and is an incredibly Bad Liar. Justified, since this version is the But Really Really Fast incarnation of Light.
- Adaptation Deviation: As is expected when the characters are played by users with their own headcanons.
- Adaptational Name Change: The term "Yoncat" is mostly a
Fan Nickname for YonKaGors many focus characters. Here, that's what their species name officially is, along with Zenith-oriented characters like Colorpencil being apart of a species known as "Mellorabbits" and Kenny-oriented characters like Sandbar being called "Rakenns". - Adaptational Intelligence: Only one of the Elders can write in their origin series, so there’s no indication they would all know how to type either.
- Adaptational Sympathy: In canon, while Commander Tartar was portrayed as somewhat pitiful, it was overall a complete and utter Hate Sink. Here, Tartar's psyche is delved into, being portrayed as a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds who became the vile individual it was in canon do to spending aeons in the Deepsea Metro with zero company, an experience which left it so deeply traumatized that its mind fragmented. Ultimately, upon realizing it was a system, it split itself into the Vowels, which inadvertently gave its components the capacity to empathize with the inkfish it hurt, causing them to become horrifically guilty atoners.
- Affably Evil: Marx genuinely gets along with most of the users on the forum while still keeping his chaotic nature.
- Affectionate Nickname:
- Naut refers to Marie (or at least, the one she’s dating) as “‘Rie.”
- Rex occasionally refers to the Tamas as “lil’ ladies”.
- Affectionate Parody: Three OC armed little miss badasses named Rose Payne, Cuterminator and Suzy Nukem clearly are badass adorable parodies of the men they're suspiciously similarly named after.
- Afterlife Express: The forum is connected to a train containing the ghosts of deceased characters (and also Makoto/Minato). Each individual or group (only if they came in a group) have their own personalized train car, and specific passengers are returned to how they looked in their prime. In addition, Abuela Claudia is the train's conductor. It takes a while, but eventually a proper explanation is given for the train; in reality, the train is the Velvet Train, an extension of the Velvet Room, that was originally created for Goro Akechi and Makoto/Minato, but ended up picking up various wayward souls with Unfinished Business along the way.
- Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Lord0fbread’s Commander Tartar is reduced to this as he begs for anyone on the forum to help him retrieve O.R.C.A. after the latter leaves him to rot.
- A Little Something We Call "Rock and Roll": A Played With example, as the recipient isn't someone from a primitive time, but rather a primitive dimension; Wildflower ends up exposing Monk to his music, and being a slugcat who has heard nothing like it in their life, the Monk is awestruck.
- Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: After consuming numerous drinks, Ruby quickly shows this off as she often says crazy things and even reveals some secrets about her friends.
- Subverted with Yumemitchi and Coffretchi who got drunk around the same time and had their insanity and snarkiness bumped up the roof along with some harsh commentary towards Boris the Teeth Guy (though most would agree he deserved it).
- Averted with Claidheamh, who is no more idiotic when drunk than when he's sober.
- Alien Catnip: After being offered an ordinary cup of coffee, the Monk reacts in a way reminiscent of someone having a bad reaction to drugs, suffering from uncontrollable jitters, mood swings, and irrational fear. SeaDrive ends up figuring out that coffee is mildly toxic to slugcats, causing Monk's symptoms.
- All for Nothing:
- In spite of everything, Tara’s attempt to bring back Alex screeches to a halt when it’s outed that Alex was abusing Murmur and the others. And to rub salt in the wound, Alex just comes back anyways.
- Kohaku‘s attempts to woo Larimar go out the window the moment the fox tells him she’s a lesbian.
- Alternate Reality Episode: Alternate versions of Miho Nishizumi and Yukari Akiyama from Girls und Panzer stood in for their real versions for a week, and the differences between the two versions of them were numerous but mostly came down to the "alternate versions" coming from 2 Darker and Edgier timelines.
- Alternate Self: There's bound to be some running around considering the forums nature. Some notable alternates include the following.
- Another Sarah Trills, played by owentt, who acts much more in line with her canonical fate than the first Sarah as played by pizzastropes180.
- Another Monk, played by The21zonz, while acting much like the Monk played by Ratatoskr, they have one difference—they're a drug addict.
- A more mortified and depressed version of The Survivor that lurks within the Velvet Train, played by oaiM_awgaS, here given the moniker of the Loner.
- Both The Warrior and Sparky are also stated to be alternate Monks.
- The Gardener, otherwise known as the Yi Xi from a joke cover of "BUTCHER VANITY" called "Veggie Vanity"
, here given the name of Xi Yi. - Completely Normal’s Sol, a younger version who’s going through their first time loop compared to J99908’s older and more experienced Sol.
- Alternative versions of Taro and Tare who fell out after the latter tortures the former with Taro unable to walk and Tare unable to see.
- Alternate Universe: Many, many examples. For example, in one universe, Nanoha and co. are Stand users while in another, Taru managed to cause enough chaos in the thread that all the Inkfish left permanently (except for Callie). These universes also vary not only in their events but also in time, as some can be in the past or in the future.
- There's also the Ishigaseki AU, an Alternate Universe defined by the fact that many of the thread's users (mostly prominently the Love Live! girls) are Jewelpets and Sweetspets.
- Ambiguously Human: Well, more like Ambiguously Yoncat. After removing the curse on his crystal, Edward Dollarspend ends up being revived in the form of Scratchpost, an anthropomorphic cat resembling the thread's other Yoncats... but something seems a little off about him, appearance wise. He has primarily black fur in contrast to the predominately white fur most Yoncats possess, and his eyes have black sclerae. Oh, and y'know, he used to be a demon.
- Ambiguous Situation: It is left unclear when BJ's posts are from. All that is known about them is that they date to after 1962, but before Youngblood.
- Amnesiac Villain Joins the Heroes: While trying to cleanse the curse on the crystal that Edward Dollarspend left behind after his death, Mr. G, Brandy, and Hideki end up unwittingly reviving him, now in the form of an innocent Yoncat with none of his memories. Mr. G and Brandy ultimately decide to work to ensure that the newly minted "Scratchpost" won't repeat the mistakes of his previous self.
- Anachronism Stew: Some forum-goers, like Wally, B.Battler and Caesar to name a few, were born in times or places where there wasn't any computer access; although its usually explained in various ways.
- Animate Inanimate Object: Quite a few forum-goers, like Rocky, Cheesy, and MePhone4. They are usually inanimate objects with faces and personalities, whom can also talk.
- The RMS Queen Mary and the SS Berlin are exceptions, since they don't have features indicating they're sentient.
- Anti-Climax:
- When Revan and Kyle start fighting each other over the Life Equation , it is later revealed that Revan and Kyle decided not to fight because they had too much in common.
- Sometimes characters will appear on the thread without revealing who they are, only for other characters to identify them, which in some cases spoils whatever surprise they might have had.
- Apocalypse How: In Project Alice, the destruction of the Doll's interstellar civilization; the Queendom of Aria, is a galactic-scale societal collapse, having met its end through destructive in-fighting between Dolls for reasons unknown. According to Narnia, many Dolls have survived the disaster, but they have been mostly rendered dormant with much of their infrastructure devastated, if not completely destroyed. Alice's very journey across Florentia is to seek the answers behind her civilization's collapse.
- Apologizes a Lot: Tari/Rui. After every goddamn sentence at times. It's even their last words.
- Arc Villain: Multiple examples:
- Koba the ape attempts to sway various users to his side in a attempt to start a revolution. Koba the witch ultimately averts this as while they do cause some trouble, it’s not out of malice.
- The SCP Foundation and their "allies" were frequently pests for others due to their paranoia with everyone and everything in the forum. Even Marx took them seriously when they arrived.
- Dharkon. First appearing on July 17th 2024, Dharkon would quickly make his presence known being one of the reasons the day was chaotic.
- 18. Starting out as a mere annoyance to some, 18 would become this during the same day Dharkon arrived after he’d possess Tari to the horror of many. It was only thanks to Dongrang exploiting Tari’s Berserk Button that 18 was forced out of Tari. June 19th would put an end to their villainy streak, with Kyle blasting a stream of Indigo Light to make 18 try to atone for their actions.
- The Agent was a being that wiped out the three Caesars and Martin Walker and caused Tari to have a crisis on if she’s real or not. Even after everything was said and done, the Agent's effects on the forum still lingered.
- Dr. Weil is a being born of hatred and has no qualms or cares about anyone else in the thread as he ruthlessly pushes any Berserk Button he wants. It gets to the point where it’s argued Weil causes more mayhem than Dharkon did on his first appearance. He soon meets his end thanks to Dearche.
- Boris and Boris the Teeth Guy. The former is an Abusive Parent who grounds his children for extremely long periods of time and the latter is a foul-mouthed demon with giant teeth who swears constantly. Both of them also actively revel in their evilness and meet their ends at the hands of Magical Girls after gloating about their evilness and Tempting Fate while doing so.
- Roe, a fusion between Tare and Taro that first appeared on September 23rd 2024, starts hir reign via decreeing xe intends on erasing the inkfish’s memories to rule over them as a god and when Lolip speaks out, Roe argues with the rabbit for several pages. Then once Lolip leaves, Roe turns the thread against the rabbit. Xe makes a Heel–Face Turn later though.
- Order. He first shows up possessing Eight and attempts to grayscale the multiverse. When that fails he gets stuck in the forum. But when Eight gets Driven to Suicide he possesses her and Chara and transforms into Overlorder, a massive Octopus with Eight inside it. He's currently stuck in a jar.
- A second Flowey from Undertale Yellow steals the souls when no one is looking, causes chaos upon the forum and tries to find Clover to kill them. Thankfully, Cherié and (post-timeskip) Dimitri quickly put an end to him.
- In Heavy's self-contained arc adapting his source material, BLU Engineer is the villain, as he is in canon.
- Arc Words:
- "Give it some time" for Eisner's characters.
- "We're all here for you" for Ratatoskr's characters.
- "You don't need to live up to anyone's expectations" for Pizzastropes180's characters.
- "You've got us, and we've got you" for Neonocto's characters.
- "Keep your head high" for Elijah.
- "Don't change yourself to suit what other people want from you" for completelynormal's characters.
- And "Impulse" for the thread in general.
- Armor-Piercing Question: This is Flowey's usual way of calling out and trying to instill Character Development in the more problematic members of the forum. While sometimes it works like a charm, other times it's only made the situation infinitely worse.
- Association Fallacy: Due to personal experiences with Judd while still Commander Tartar, Roe and Tare hate all cats regardless of their alignment and will express hir hatred of any forum user that looks like one. This has died down as of lately however.
- Ax-Crazy:
- Shouki. She loves killing people, fighting helpless opponents, owns several firearms and knives, and even prefers blood on her noodles. She even fantasizes on torturing and killing random strangers, acts out on those fantasies sometimes, and had even fantasized on slicing Santa Claus into millions of pieces with Mizuki’s sword, so she can take over Christmas and give dangerous weapons to kids. Mizuki describes some of her fantasies as being "too graphic for this thread."
- Even worse than her is Chara. they love to slaughter when Eight isn't around, and sometimes even when she '''is''' around.
- Even further worse than any of those two is Claidheamh. Whenever he's not fighting to kill or at least RETIRE someone, he's punching a heavy bag so much that his fists resemble flanged maces than normal hands.
- Babies Make Everything Better: A rather strange example; the thing that finally snaps Kanata out of her Heroic BSoD caused by being shown Cakey's corpse is her finding and beginning to care for an egg that mysteriously appeared in her room.
- Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: More like the Anti-Hero would do the dirty work in this instance, but Dearche was willing to kill Dr. Weil, sneakily, partly due to her ego and partly also because she had it personal with him.
- Baddie Flattery: Inverted; even while trying to protect the forum from her, SeaDrive can't help but compliment the "confidence and zest for life" Yi Xi displays as she confidently declares that she can easily take Kyle Rayner in a fight.
- Beauty Equals Goodness: Inesite possesses a couple of unique design elements which, while not exactly making him hideous, make him look a bit scarier and uglier then your average Jewelpet, such as bushy eyebrows, sharp claws, visible fangs, and wrinkles beneath his eyes. He also happens to be one of the biggest Hate Sinks in the roleplay, being a homophobe and an abuser who disowned his daughter for being a lesbian and abused and bullied his second wife to the point of suicide.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: Moriritchi was admittedly a little envious towards the ship tease moments Coffretchi and Pianitchi kept getting (which many clearly can tell it's not just a very close friendship between them) while her moments with Candy Pakupaku gone rather unnoticed. This has led to the morning on Halloween when it was discovered that Moriritchi and Candy Pakupaku had a "real close moment together at night" at that point in time which their friends found out and became a recurring topic on the thread, much to Moriritchi's embarrassment though Candy Pakupaku doesn't mind it at all and often comforts the former's bashfulness about it.
- Rit had wished to fly like her creator. Peri grants the wish only for Rit to not be able to control herself resulting in having to be rescued.
- Berserk Button:
- Don't mention war or death around Walker, he put that life behind him long ago. This came much to the chagrin of the various Girls und Panzer characters he snapped at, not knowing that senshado was just a martial art and not a sadistic death-game.
- Do not, under any circumstance, call Tari a pussy. Whilst she was being possessed by 18 by drinking from the soda can he was imprisoned in, Dongrang managed to exploit this button, even if he did regret it shortly after.
- Questioning Negaduck's status as his own person, using his birth name, or really probing too hard into his view of himself relative to all the other alternate universe Darkwings is guaranteed to send him into an existential dread-fuelled rage. Of course, this weakness was exploited by other forum users as soon as they discovered it.
- Don't insult Josuke's hair. Tari ended up on the receiving end of being hit by a flurry of punches from Crazy Diamond because of that. Taru only avoids it due to already being dead.
- Rena does not take it well when someone lies (just like canonically in Higurashi the visual novel.) Her counterpart from Neptunia's world (who is also named Higurashi) however doesn't get as much pissed from it.
- Roe's is activated whenever you compare his (as well as Rui and Tara's) full name, Tartar, to its even more unfortunate second definition (the first being the sauce, of course) of a dental problem. Especially if you make any jokes about removing hir with toothpaste.
- Pearl's main one is doing anything to her wife, Marina. When she hears Marina crying, she immediately asks the forum in her angriest tone which one of them did this to her. When it turns out that Marina kinda did this to herself, Pearl chills out considerably.
- CaseOh reacts much more violently, as hidden as it is, when he's fat-shamed, siccing The Mods onto the unlucky sap who said it.
- Though Momotchi isn't too strong about showing how much it bothers her but she often gets grated by moments when a a noticable status quo appears in her presence, she's also not too found of a certain T word mentioned either though she falls under a similar trope a lot.
- Do not believe you are better off dead when you're in Shadow the Hedgehog's presence. He absolutely will reinforce that you are indeed loved, and admired, and needed. His experiences with dead people is a heavy driving factor to this button.
- Don't call Kasumi "Kasukasu". Notably, Flowey choosing to press this button is part of the reason why his attempt at calling her out ends up going as badly as it does.
- Deadnaming and/or misgendering people might be an even bigger button for Kasumi, however. She ends up snapping at Henry after he accidentally calls her a he, and during the Flame War on June 7th, 2025, after Eight deliberately deadnames Neo to prove a point, Kasumi goes absolutely apeshit, calling her out in uncharacteristically vulgar language and blocking everyone she perceived as defending her.
- Don't lay a finger on any of Shizuku's friends unless you want to see the typically kind and polite girl reveal her spiteful side. And God help you if you lay a finger on Kasumi, because she'll never forgive you for it.
- Don't call Elijah weak, or less capable than anyone else, because he will get madder than you've ever seen him before. Klug learnt that the hard way.
- Shiver will not take anyone disrespecting anyone's gender identity. She, as someone who goes by she/they themselves, understands the importance of marking your own identity for yourself, and won't ever tolerate something like it otherwise.
- Marina's, after her Character Development, is saying "sorry" and then proceeding to do nothing else. She is absolutely furious whenever someone does something like this, because when she went through the worst part of her life because of the forum, all she got was a simple "sorry", and nothing else.
- She's also very set off by being given advice and then not listening or doing nothing about it at all. She sees the errors of the forum, and, ultimately, is trying to help, but when her help is ignored, it makes everything feel pointless.
- The Berserker: During his fight with Venoct, Miraidon outright comments on how Inesite focuses his attention on fighting and completely ignores everything else.
- Bestiality Is Depraved: Due to Uriah seeing feeding as pleasure, she adamantly refuses to suck the blood of any animal and only sticks to adult humans.
- Beware the Silly Ones: Yi Xi is an all around very goofy character, what with her Affably Evil personality and the silly antics she gets up to. She also managed to successfully kill and eat Maguro, and even fed the sushi she made out of his remains to his oblivious friends .
- Beyond Redemption: Many users feel the Future AU Taru is this due to the vowel not trying to own up to its mistakes with its many murders, going Never My Fault whenever it’s called out for killing its universe Kaya and Nomi which got it killed in the first place and falling to change for the better with the vowel outright stating that it is weak to do so to the frustration of many.
- The Big Damn Kiss:
- Naut and Marie, after Roe teleports Marie to the Metro, and Naut confesses her love.
- After a week or so buildup, on the 1st of June, Chara and Eight finally kissed, cementing their status as a romantic couple.
- On June 9th, Elijah and Vi find themselves outside Elijah’s house, causing Vi to confess her love to him. They kissed, becoming a couple… for three days, breaking up on the 12th.
- Following the 3 days spent with eachother, Clownfish and Monk finally kiss on June 10th...although due to the size difference, they settle for a Big Damn Nuzzle instead.
- Bigger on the Inside: A number of train cars on the Afterlife Express contain larger rooms than what a train car would normally be capable of. Notably, the Mouthwashing crew's train car is the entirety of the Tulpar, Dongbaek modeled her train car into a greenhouse, Crick's is all of the town of Flamechurch, and Maria and Gerald's train car is all of Shadow's White Space.
- Big Good: The forum thread's in-universe mod team serve as this to the forumgoers, trying their best to protect the forumgoers from genuine threats and shut down the problematic actions of users.
- Big "WHAT?!": A bone chilling one came from Yumemitchi when Ribbon announced that Elijah is dead.
- Bilingual Bonus:
- Mikoto (The name Megatron uses to avert COBRA'S Jamming) speaks in both English and a lot of Chinese languages. He speaks mostly in Cantonese due to Cantonese using less characters (if he speaks for too long, the Jamming would get on his ass).
- Betta almost exclusively speaks in Indonesian, although there are a few times he breaks into English, albeit not-very-good English on the fact that it wasn't his first language.
- Fu Yuzheng is that Too, Typing exclusively in Simplified Chinese.
- And so does Skywarp?/"Orville", speaking exclusively in dutch,
Word of God said its due to a post stating about Dutch being the language of the heavens and Them running away with that info
- Bizarre Alien Biology: Based on the interactions with Icarus and Phosphophyllite, the Gems are considered this, with questions concerning how normally rigid gemstones can move as humans.
- Bittersweet Ending: Of a sort; Maria does manage to drive Junko away from the thread before she can drive it to despair, but in the process, gains a couple of mental scars in the process. The 13th Doctor also manages to help, dropping Junko into an event horizon, but predictably she isn't all too mad about it. And then much later, Junko is revealed to have escaped from the black hole.
- How the revival of Cherié ends as Elijah, Chara and Flowey are able to get her back but the trio are cursed by Happy Chaos and are very shaken by everything that ocurred. And in the midst of all the chaos, it’s revealed that Tare has been torturing Taro.
- Blaming the Victim: Vi, after the flamewar of 7th June 2025, tried to deflect the blame of the fallout on to Elijah, saying that she wouldn’t have said all those mean things if it weren’t for his insecurities and attitude. Elijah, Eight and Chara promptly blocked her for not owning up to the problems she caused.
- Blood Knight:
- Claidheamh is a massive one as he’s always ready to fight something. He even outright starts fighting other posters to get some action. And whenever he's not doing that, he's punching either a wall or a heavy bag. Unlike the other two below him, Claidheamh is much more brutal and willing to kill others.
- Bonus Boss Z is also one, loving to fight other powerful opponents to test her skills. But she's not as outright savage or brutal as Claidheamh is.
- Elijah has shades of this, but similarly to Bonus Boss Z, he doesn’t like killing anyone.
- Blunt "No": Kyle has this reaction when Revan asks him for The Life Equation.
- Bomb Disposal: One happens on November 12th, 2024 and the bomb threatens to blow up the forum. Defusing it comes in multiple steps and is particularly complex. Though the bomb wasn't actually a bomb, but merely something that looked like a bomb since it can't explode.
- Bounty Hunter: Milky reveals herself to be one with the chihuahua even mentioning that she sometimes has to turn on her own clients due to finding them just as monstrous as those she hunts.
- Bow Chicka Wow Wow: Yumemitchi often says this when something a little "wild" going on or discussed which might have influenced Carbuncle (Arle's cute companion) to say it as well.
- Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: Dr. Weil describes his day as flying around, watching the world around him and killing any sort of rebellion.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall
- Elijah did this a lot when he was first introduced, but grew out of it. He still occasionally breaks the fourth wall by pointing out pot holes, amongst other things.
- Chara does this regularly, interacting with OOC comments, and knowing of (and directly addressing) the roleplayers.
- Break Them by Talking: A common strategy used by the Vowels (primarily Roe) and the Jewelpets, along with many others. Victims include Roe, F!Taru, and Negaduck. Some characters, however, are immune to this, such as Claidheamh (who's implied to be Too Broken to Break).
- Bring My Brown Pants: Clulutchi didn't feel so good when the first time she encountered Dharkon, especially since he started the chaos on July 17th. Miraitchi also felt this towards The SCP Foundation though she was just rather real frustrated when they came in the same day coupled with all the insanity.
- This also happens a lot with Ringo in regards to her fear of ghosts and Madonnatchi who doesn't like dealing with terrifying beings.
- The Bus Came Back:
- Some characters end up disappearing for a while before returning for one reason or another.
- Dark Flower X (aka Violetchi), Blossom, Pibby and Madonnatchi were the extra reinforces the Tama Toons called to appear during August 17th, however they would be absent from the thread for about a few months and would return during December 18th, officially joining the rest of the Tama Toons group along with four newcomers.
- Neonocto's Agent 4 would return as a villain after Neon just got bored of using her.
- Butt-Monkey: Elijah is constantly pushed around by the forumgoers (especially when he's acting mean). He's been insulted about many parts of his personality, actions (and looks) seemingly out of nowhere and once had Revan, Chara, and Deadpool arguing who could kill him the fastest, with Revan ACTUALLY TRYING to fight him to the death. It's ultimately Deconstructed when Marina calls everyone out for their treatment of people who can't defend themselves, and Elijah comes out all the better for it.
- Cassandra Truth: Garnet does not believe Ruby when the latter tells the former about Inesite briefily taking over Sapphie.
- Cast Full of Gay: The forum thread's userbase is predominately queer, with only a handful of characters being explicitly clarified to be cisgender and heterosexual.
- Cat Fight: When Louise Francoise appears and describes herself as being powerful despite being shown otherwise, Rulue decides to fight her to see if she actually is powerful. The two then fight each other, with Louise whipping Rulue and Rulue punching Louise with her fists. Though unlike most examples, this one isn't played for fanservice.
- Cerebus Rollercoaster: Things can go from silly to serious real quick at times as easy going topics get overlapped by dark situations which often take the main course of the thread. Often lampshaded by several characters who take notice of it.
- Cessation of Existence:
- All 3 Caesars and Martin Walker No Longer exist due to the agent. ...Well, the original versions of them, anyways.
- Bizarrely enough, Claidheamh actually came back from this. Implied to have done it multiple times.
- Cigar Chomper: Josuke's Savior is often seen smoking a big fat cigar of a generic brand (implied to be Cuban), and he's definitely one of the more badass characters, even if his actions aren't shown much. The few times they are shown, it's usually a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown against previously established powerhouses in the forum.
- Characterization Marches On: Given the roleplay's
sheer length, it's inevitable that some people would end up changing how they choose to characterize their avatars.- In her earlier posts, Kasumi didn't have any particularly strong reactions to the Yoncats. Later posts would establish a Running Gag of her finding Yoncats mind-numbingly adorable.
- Chummy Commies: The B-1 battle droid becomes one of these and founds droid communism. Not a lot of people on the forum have an issue with that.
- Clone Angst: When Tara who thinks she’s the real Tari hears she’s just a copy, she doesn’t take it well.
- This plot thread is brought back after Tari/Rui’s suicide, when she decides to replace them in order to protect 24 and Callie, much to the forum’s disdain.
- Averted with Eva, who just doesn’t care.
- Color-Coded Speech: Some characters or avatars use different colors of text to differentiate their speech, although not all characters or avatars do so.
- Color-Coded Wizardry: Some roleplayers choose to use different text colors as a way to signifying that their characters are using a magic spell.
- oaiM_awgaS's versions of the Jewelpets tend to speak in evil text whenever they're casting magic.
- Kasumi's typically evil gold text turns evil teal whenever she's casting Libra.
- Comedic Spanking: Moriritchi smacks Candy Pakupaku in the rear when the latter was talking about the adult content that occurs on the thread to Blossom which obviously includes their "close moment" on Halloween morning which Moriritchi didn't want to think about at the time. Moriritchi suspects Candy Pakupaku might have enjoyed it anyway much to Madonnatchi's confusion.
- Companion Cube: A forum-goer, Box, is a normal cardboard box. However, the other characters (notably Lilith) under Fire Arrow Eight Seventy treat him like a person.
- Conflict Killer: The argument between Flowey, Trey, Rit and Roe regarding of wether Roe is being too lax on Tara comes to a abrupt and tragic end when Dark Shokan appears and kills Trey to the horror of the forum.
- Cope by Pretending: The Meshi in Taru’s universe starts doing this during a massive attack as they ignore any questions regarding the ongoing slaughter and insist that everything is fine.
- Cosmic Plaything: Elijah never seems to catch a break, as he’s frequently roped in to adventures that could scar most for life or just put through any and every wringer the universe can get its hands on.
- Crapsaccharine World: The version of Sweets Land in the Alternate Universe that oaiM_awgaS's Jewelpet characters come from is an almost literal example of this trope. Like in canon, it's an adorable Level Ate... but unlike canon, it's also an utter Dystopia beneath the bright and shiny exterior; Prince Gumimin was exiled by the kingdom's Evil Chancellor because he was bisexual and autistic, and the mere act of supporting him can get you executed by way of Cruel and Unusual Death, as the Velvet Train's Lolip can attest.
- Creator In-Joke: Despite Charlijah getting Sunk, it's become common for Neon and (The Real) Elijah to continue to include romantic subtext as a joke.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Happy Chaos Vs. Taro and Tare on March 5th, 2025. After Taro misinterpreted Chaos's intentions and shot first, he proceeded to stop Taro's attack with his FINGER, teleport behind him, flick him into the wall, leaving him unconscious for over two hours, and then do the EXACT SAME to Tare and ITL after they tried to intervene, as well as kidnap both Acht and Eight, escaping to his universe completely unharmed. Luckily, he just wanted to take Acht and Eight out for ice cream and return with them a couple hours later....but considering how volatile Happy Chaos truly is,
he could've done far worse on a mere whim. - Cuteness Overload:
- When the cute critters from the Precure series appeared on the thread, some of the Tama Toons especially Milktchi and Buttercup just constantly gushed about how adorable they are with a huge amount of excitement.
- Pretty much the behavior Azusa Shiratori has when she sees anything cute which is too big of a list to count.
- Cuteness Proximity: When Komugi joins the thread in her papillon form, Tari, Brandy and Ren Hazuki are all overcome with this.
D-G
- Death by Adaptation: Characters tend to have this happen, as opposed to their origin series. Some examples include:
- idkwhatiamdoingatp's Gaty, who died in a Magnitude 6 earthquake in November the 13th, 2024. Withered Freddy even implies that Gaty's dead before The Reveal.
- Vince, who is heavily implied to have died from cancer based on Wildflowers allusions to it.
- Death Is Cheap: It's fairly rare for characters who die onscreen and aren't complete and utter Hate Sinks to actually stay dead, whether it by way of them being revived one way or another, or them showing up on the ghost train.
- Deceptively Silly Title:
- Downplayed in regards to the roleplay itself. The simplistic sounding title makes the roleplay sound like a Slice of Life devoid of any actual plot, but while the roleplay is like that on some days, on other days, the roleplay has seen tons of angst, action, grimness, and permanently plot-changing events.
- That being said, the roleplay does contain a straighter example; during storylines that largely take place off forum, it's common for the roleplayers to separate these chunks into folders, to indicate they aren't on the thread. Often times, these folders can have pretty silly names that jarringly contrast with the actual storyline; for instance, the plotline about Kasumi suffering a Heroic BSoD, and Tare and Larimar having to snap her out of it was referred to as "Kasumi and Tare's Bogus Journey".
- Declaration of Spousehood: Played for Laughs. Only a few days after getting together with Shizuku, Kasumi starts declaring her intent to marry Shizuku and asking her friends what wedding party roles they'd like to be, much to the exasperation of Shizuku, who points out that they shouldn't be making wedding plans when they're both only 15.
- Denser and Wackier: When there's a rather huge amount of posters along with continuous commotion, the thread can really go off of rails in terms of insanity with some of the most notorious days being August 6th, 2022 and July 17th, 2024.
- Devil Complex: It seems that becoming a Vengeful Ghost and receiving Coal's devotion inflamed Inesite's ego, as during his discussion with Coal, he has this to say.Inesite: "They think I'm a monster? No, I am the devil himself, and they will realize soon enough."
- Deus ex Machina: To contrast the Agent's sudden arrival, The Doctor(one of them atleast) suddenly arrives at the forum to make things more stable. Deadpool arrives at one point and through the power of fourth wall breaking and time-travel, he revives all 3 Caesars and Martin Walker.
- Diabolus ex Machina: The Agent seems to be this so far...
- Dimensional Traveler: Morgan aspires to become a mercenary variant of this upon obtaining a mysterious portal material to offset his lack of reliable income. This gets him into sorts of trouble, much to Exotic Ventures’s annoyance.
- Disabled in the Adaptation: In this Universe, Bumblebee is Suffering from a "heat Glitch" which makes him way, way more Prone towards the warmth. Even thinking if its going to be the end of him if the Temprature is more then 100° F in Chicago..
- Disowned Sibling: Vowel A or Tara is disowned by Roe after she tried to become Rui right after their suicide with Roe going as far to outright no longer consider her a Vowel.
- Domestic Abuse: The formerly late Alex appears to have acted this way towards Murmur and the others, which was revealed when Tara attempted to revive her.
- Doomed Hometown: Well, not exactly a hometown, and more like a homeland, but it still qualifies. Outer Expanse, the homeland of Monk and Survivor, ends up getting devastated at the hands of 18, who devours so much of the local fauna that the ecosystem is thrown completely out of whack. By the time he's done, Outer Expanse is left almost entirely unrecognizable, flooded with the corpses of dozens of creatures.
- Dramedy: The roleplay frequently slides between goofy Slice of Life shenanigans to angst, drama, and action, sometimes even in the course of a single day.
- The Dreaded: Good God, Claidheamh. Ever since his fight with Elijah, Claidheamh had grown an insatiable bloodthirst for combat and action in general, to the point of punching a heavy bag for days on end. It got to the point where even the toughest, most blustering folks became afraid of him than anything else. For example: Frida Suarez once urged Claidheamh to fight El Mal Verde. The result? Claidheamh came back with El Mal Verde's very heart, and now Miracle City's crime rates have drastically dropped.
- Driven to Suicide:
- Unicron only posted a "i can't handle it anymore" to the forum in the middle of the night, considering he hasnt post anything since, this is the worst case scenario. Thankfully it failed.
- The case is also the same with Callie, which was thankfully prevented by Marina and Marie convincing her that she is loved and appreciated.
- Rui. And, unlike the other two cases, it sticks... for awhile.
- F,Taru in the Afterlife Express after hearing about her Callies death. While it does kill the Alternate Universe Taru, it actually brings in the forums original Taru, who was seperated from Rui post-suicide. Turns out that the Tarus were actually switched, and F!Taru later returns as Ordeu.
- After Elijah compares him to Ecolo by calling him a Ecolo wannabe, Elias attempts this though thankfully he lives due to Batyr’s interference.
- Dropped a Bridge on Him:
- While never explicitly stated to have died, Erifigis take on Flowey is last seen being snatched by The Roaring Knight after leaving the forum and hasn't been seen since.
- Reiyana and the rest of the Fitzgeralds are revealed to have been killed after getting booted off the thread for their vile behavior. Subverted with Shokan albeit one who comes from an Alternate Universe who later appears on the Velvet Train but with none of his powers.
- Drowning Wario, seen for only four posts, is revealed in his character folder to have died by drowning.
- Drunk on Milk: A non-beverage example; according to Groupie, rats are "like beer shots if you've had too many" to Yoncats.
- Easy Amnesia: Happens to Rui as they have no memory of who they were after Tare accidentally drops them. They get better.
- Egg MacGuffin: On July 24th, 2025, Kanata would reveal to the forum that she had caring for a mysterious egg she had found in her room, with her giving updates on the egg in the following days. Five days later, the egg would hatch into a Pafumon.
- Later, on August 26th, 2025, Yu would find herself in the exact same situation as Kanata, with her discovering a mysterious egg on her bed. Unlike Kanata's egg, however, Yu's egg was quickly identified by the forumgoers as a Pokémon egg, and would ultimately hatch into a Fuecoco.
- Enslaved Tongue: A rare lighthearted example - the residents of the Afterlife Express all refer to Claudia, the conductor of the train as 'Abuela' despite having no prior knowledge of her up to the reveal.
- End of an Age: According to Naomi
and Bridget
, TV Tropes in their universe was discontinued in 2123 on Earth as a result of the mysterious "Third Google Incident", which ended up getting the admins who were running it at the time arrested. Morgan
, being a war vet, speculated that the Earth of Project Alice devolved into a dictatorship. - Enemy Mine: A lot of villains (with standards), Anti-Heroes, and clear-cut heroes alike oppose Dr. Weil due to how deprived he is. The same also applies for other similarly detestable evils like the abusive father, Boris.
- Despite their animosity towards him, Luea and the Tama Toons form one with Ecolo in order to deal with a imposter of Elijah.
- Elmer Fudd Syndrome: Smollusk, though you shouldn’t mention it. They’ve had it for 17 years now.
- Milktchi also used to talk in such a way as well due to her cutesy wootsey talk but she decided to stop after awhile with the more consistent serious topics started taking over the thread, something she used to not participate as much as the others Tama Toons did prior.
- Azusa does this too due to being pretty much being a toddler inside of teenager's body.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Many of the thread's more dubious characters, such as Boris the Horrorboros, Jevil, and Renata, absolutely despise Boris for his abhorrent parenting techniques, his awful idea of what "discipline" is, and overall just being a plain Jerkass.
- Arcee here is a Huge troll that just seeks attention, but afters Junko's comment she left out this image
◊, what was it meant to say? "Keep Pablo off your hands you dirty human"
- Arcee here is a Huge troll that just seeks attention, but afters Junko's comment she left out this image
- Everyone Has Standards: Jeffy decides not to make a joke about Sanitization when its revealed exactly what that means.
- Moriritchi usually loves exciting days, especially on her birthday, but the amount of activities that went on throughout the day got a little too crazy on her recent birthday in 2024, which even led to her and her Tama friends staying up almost the entire night.
- Evil Virtues: All Jewelpets embody and have power over a specific virtue, and Inesite is no exception, being the Jewelpet of Tenacity. He may be a homophobe, an abuser, and just a godawful person all around, but he's definitely not a quitter.
- Exact Words: Nene, tired of the drama of the forum, tries to wish for a day of peace. Unfortunately before she can finish, Peri misinterprets the wish and adds a extra day in October.
- Extreme Doormat: Roe at times tends to let others walk all over hir to make them happy even if they’re clearly hurting them. These include the Fitzgeralds and Uriah.
- Family Theme Naming: oaiM_awgaS's take on Garnet has a brother named Tsavorite, named after a variety of garnet
. - Fantastic Drug: The Sativirus (which
first appeared on April 20th) causes characters that are infected by it to act like they're high on marijuana. - Faux Affably Evil:
- Koba was this for a while around some forum, go-ers, until he went full mask off.
- In a similar vein both The Agent and the SCP foundation claim to be "safe guarding reality" despite causing more harm than good.
- Feghoot: Why did Maguro get used for a cannibal's meal? The answer is simple... Maguro sushi.
- Fictional Earth: Florentia
from Project Alice is an Earth-like planet with a ring system that serves as the main setting and home for Alice, Naomi, Bridget, and Narnia. It's one of the terraformed planets from the Doll's mysterious Garden Project and was colonized by former space-fairing humans thousands of years ahead of present day. So far, two countries on Florentia have been mentioned: Sakurajima (based on Japan) and Albion (based on England). - Fictional Social Network: Downplayed given that it's just a single thread on a larger website, but the entire roleplay revolves around a fictional forum thread that the characters frequent.
- Zig-Zagged in regards to the website the forum is hosting on, which has been inconsistently portrayed as a fictional website, or just TV Tropes.
- Filler: Plenty of it exists, befitting for a work without a real plot to speak of.
- Fish out of Water:
- Yukihito; who hasn't touched an electronic even once in his life, let alone a forum.
- Frisk/Einine and Merrah are also examples, the former in particular still believing in Tari's beliefs back when she was Commander Tartar and even attempting to restart her plans before realizing the truth.
- Ryunosuke is absolutely one, what with all of the unfamiliar terms thrown back and forth, with him being incredibly confused every time. Herlock Sholmes could also be one, except for the fact that he just doesn't care.
- Flame War: One of these occurred on August 28th, 2024 as Katyusha declared that Tari, previously known as Commander Tartar, had crossed the
Moral Event Horizon and was irredeemable. Starlight and Fiddlesticksnote agreed, while the entirety of the Inkfish crew along with the Tamas and a few others fought back harshly. The argument lasted 3 pages, Tari ended up being compared to Hitler, Marina delivered two L + Ratio speeches to Katyusha, and Tari was having a panic attack the entire time, almost being Driven to Suicide.- Another one occurs on September 23rd 2024 as after what starts as a mere debate about idealism quickly turns south as Roe makes his intentions on wiping the memories of the Inkfish and then ruling over them. Lolip and a few others take issue with this leading to a six page argument that ends with Roe deciding to change.. only for hir to twist the narrative to hir favor when Lolip leaves causing Lolip to be hated by many for a short time.
- Flat "What": Kiraritchi had this reaction when 18 flat out calls the thread too crazy for him despite having an infamous reputation of causing the thread to go crazy on previous days.
- Formulaic Magic: The Life Equation.
- Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: After attempting to take over Tari, 18 tries to play symphony by telling the other users about their past. However none are sympathetic (Least of all Flowey to 18’s chagrin.) especially when Tari reveals that they gave 18 a chance to change only for it to be rejected by 18.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: A couple of forum-goers could count, but the SCP Foundation is probably the biggest sort, in thanks to them being much less competent and much more paranoid than in canon.
- Odyssey Rhaast and Kayn are shaping up to be this due to their childish bickering with one another and the fact that they try to get attention from others even in the midst of a serious situation.
- Fun with Acronyms: The Tama Toons sometimes describe mornings with agitation for them as Painful Morning Stress.
- Furry Reminder: While the Yoncats do behave exactly like humans would, there is one thing that ties them to their cat roots: mice. Convict once ate a hoard of mice living in Kasumi's walls, while Groupie once ate a rat on their screen. Honest Lie describes them as a rare delicacy aside from fish.
- Formula-Breaking Episode: As one would expect for a roleplay titled "Our avatars are posting on a forum thread", most of the character interactions happen during online chats. That being said, there have been times where the action has been dragged offline and the characters have had in-person interactions.
- Freak Out: Downplayed; after learning that VICARIOUS has returned, Kasumi's utter terror at this revelation causes her to act uncharacteristically in the following days, becoming far more timid and prone to doubting herself, as well as acting weepier than usual and suffering mood swings.
- Fusion Dance:
- How both Roe and Rui come to be as both halves of them for one reason or another decide to fuse together. After their suicide and rebirth however, Tari would split from Taru post mortem with said rebirth also causing Tare and Taro to split for a while.
- Chara and Elijah preform one to become Charlijah for a brief time.
- The Future AU Roe fuses with it’s universe’s Taru to become Ordeu in order to have a fighting chance against Adam.
- Elijah and Clownfish briefly fuse with each other to form Whackamole.
- During October 14th, 2025, 10/14!Taru attempts to possess Tari in order to make Rui again. However, it doesn't work as either intended it to - Cifer describing it as more of them just sharing the same body rather than actually fusing.
- Gender Flip:
- Downplayed in regards to the Yoncats; most of them don't technically have confirmed genders, but they're all generally presumed to use they/them like Yon themself. In this roleplay, Clownfish, Seabird, Wildflower, Droplet, and Sweet Treat have all been addressed with he/him, Selfish has been addressed with she/her, Watercolor uses she/they, and Convict and Spicy Treati.e. seem to use he/they.
- Another Downplayed example is oaiM_awgaS's take on Morpho Knight; while they're never addressed with gendered pronouns in canon, they're generally assumed to be a male, like Meta Knight and Galacta Knight. Here, oaiM_awgaS's depiction of them has them identify female.
- Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!:
- Mametchi, Madonnatchi & Bubbletchi call out on Luea's constant pessimism over the more negative moments of the thread during mid January 2025 which Dongbaek agreed with the former three on about.
- Miraitchi had to do this to Clulutchi since the latter was feeling not too pleased about the recent chaos they got into on January 20, 2025 (bare in mind, it's been awhile since it's gotten that crazy in while, plus she was bothered by the lack of proper responses) which had her think second thoughts regarding if it's worth hanging out on it. Boss Z brings up how much people everyone gets to see on the thread, which had Miraitchi remind Clulutchi why it can be enjoyable regardless of occasional insanities.
- Get Your Mind Out of the Gutter: Moriritchi directly tells this to both Furifuritchi and Milktchi when they were talking about how much of fitting it is for her and Candy Pakupaku to be so close on Halloween. She also tells Candy Pakupaku it too during a time a mod was around causing Moriritchi to be nervous about them knowing what happened on Halloween which led Candy Pakupaku brought up a sneaky term * which got the former slightly annoyed by it.
- A more G-Rated type of version with Pianitchi who was thinking about much she enjoys cuddling with Coffretchi when that word was brought up which caused the latter to tell the former not be thinking about it so excitedly at that time.
- Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: During Stefan's birthday party, a giant alien worm god interrupts a foot race to see what's happening. The worm god in question isn't even malevolent, and later on, it even asks EV to help terraform the moon that it currently resides on.
- The Glasses Come Off: Upon realizing that Venoct intends to kill him, Inesite removes his glasses and crushes them in the palm of his paw, indicating that he's not going to go down without a fight.
- Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: The thread has multiple.
- The Monk is a cheerful and kind slugcat who most commonly interacts with Elijah, the thread's snarky Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
- Chara is snarky and violent, but that nonetheless didn't prevent them and the Stepford Smiler Eight from falling in love.
- The Artificer is a Card-Carrying Jerkass who is almost always ticked off at something... but she nonetheless has an Odd Friendship with the Cheerful Child Pajamy.
- A God Am I:
- Tare, much to everyone’s annoyance. This tones down a lot after merging with Taro to become Roe, although there are still hints that they still want to be seen as one regardless.
- The Saint also adopts this worldview, but in a rare positive example, they only want it to provide a sense of hope for everything struggling to survive in their world.
H-M
- Hates Being Touched: Both the F, Taru and Retroe really hate any form of physical contact of any kind.
- Hated by All: Due to his sheer depravity and natch for causing chaos when he arrives, Dr. Weil is hated by everyone on the thread regardless of alignment.
- After arguing with Kasumi to the point of her running out in tears and not caring in the slightest, Flowey becomes hated by everyone on the forum.
- Healthy in Heaven: A rare case, but passengers of the Afterlife Express or people in the afterlife in general will usually have their appearances restored to how they looked in their prime. For example, Shigaraki takes on his teal-haired appearance before being fused with All For One and Anakin is in his Force Ghost form from Return Of The Jedi rather than his present self as Darth Vader.
- Heel–Face Reincarnation: Edward Dollarspend's ultimate fate; he ends up being reborn as Scratchpost, an innocent amnesiac with a far more pleasant disposition compared to the person he used to be, and Mr. G and Brandy working hard to make sure he won't become anything like his past life.
- Heel–Face Turn:
- For Roe, as they've actually become friends with a lot of the posters in the forum, and they're pretty much not antagonistic anymore.
- After it returns as Ordeu in the aftermath of the defeat of Bill Cipher, the Future AU Taru reveals it had underwent one while merged with it’s universe’s Roe with it genuinely wanting to help its universe and no longer having its antagonistic traits.
- Heroic RRoD: While it's Downplayed by the fact it's ultimately nothing serious, Kasumi ends up feeling completely exhausted after spamming Libra on several people, voicing a desire to lie down and take a nap.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: From so many people. Strangely, it's mainly from the inkfish. Eight, Marina, Tari, Mittsu, Kiki...
- Hijacked by Ganon: Subverted at one point. When Albedo talks about the Tsarista/Cryo Archon (a mysterious goddess whom the Fatui worship) from Genshin Impact, Tarvek initially says
that she sounds an awful lot like the Other from Girl Genius. Much, much later, this point is picked up again as Gil investigates Fatui tech
and concludes that she's probably not the Other. - Hired Guns: Morgan is one, although he has difficulties securing a permanent source of income since the end of the war on his world.
- Homosexual Reproduction: As explained by Eight in a very extensive manner, all inkfish are hermaphrodites, so all inkfish are, therefore, able to reproduce with each other, regardless of gender identity. This is exactly how Eight and Acht made their own baby.
- Hope Spot: Characters can recover from a bad event before another bad event happens to them.
- Two has restored her internet temporarily, but it's not long before she disappeared again, much to Withered Freddy's dismay.
- Horrifying the Horror: A very common thing around here, where some villains may find themselves outclassed by even bigger bads.
- The second Flowey is absolutely mortified by Omori once they better know eachother, to the moment he outright flees after fighting Omori for the first time.
- Light gets scared out of his wits by Johan during the latter's first day due to his class of manipulation far outclassing Light, and the potential idea that he's outright immune to the Death Notes effects due to the implications "Johan" is an alias.
- Horror Doesn't Settle for Simple Tuesday: It's fairly common for some of the most nightmarish things to happen on the forum to coincide with holidays.
- The first day of Pride Month in 2025 happened to coincide with not only a ton of terrifying figures appearing on the forum, such as Sarah, Serverblight, Mephilia, Greed, Pride, and the Gold-Toothed Doctor, for either the first time or the first time in a while, but also 18 managing to escape the facility he was trapped in.
- The revelation of the existence of the Madainans' plan to create a utopia by forcing all Muggles to learn magic or die, and the fight with Shokan that happened because of it all happened on Father's Day 2025.
- Humans Are Cthulhu: it's implied that the Agent's "Higher Ups" are the tropers outside of the roleplay.
- Sita Discusses it too, But its more aimed at the Food progress, and especially the Carolina reaper, stating that one of them can Kill a god if they are unprepared (unless its Agni)
- I Didn't Mean to Kill Him: An indirect example as while Flowey, Chara and Elijah only wanted Cherié to reset and find another way to break the barrier, she would decide that the best way is to sacrifice herself thus killing her for a time.
- Idol Singer:
- Kasumi, Roe, Larimar, Chara, Elijah, Nomi, and everyone else in OAAPOAFT's expanded version of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. Ren Hazuki, Eli Ayase, and Spoken For!Teto used to be this, before the former two's graduation and the latter's death.
- After talking to Kasumi, Tare decides that xe wants to be this in order to be loved and adored. This carries over to Roe as to hir, it gives him an sense of purpose in hir life.
- I Hate Past Me: After falling out with Taro due to his manipulative nature, Tare hates discussing anything regarding hir past as Roe due to being difficult to get along with. Xe later moves past this however upon realizing that Taro has truly changed for the better.
- I Just Want to Be Loved: Both Tare and Roe behind hir occasional arrogance just wants people to love and respect xem. The future AU Taru as well counts though it hides it much better.
- I'll Kill You!: After Batman warns Negaduck not to mess with him, Tare makes it clear to the Caped Crusader that xe will kill him if he even tries hurting Negaduck.
- I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: The Brute, according to Claidheamh. People only thought he was a hero, but Claidheamh insisted he's not.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: After a particularly chaotic night (mainly thanks to Milky causing a massive scene.) Kiraritchi mentions that she needs Valkyr after all if the chaos.
- Insult Backfire: Fu Yuzheng tried to threaten Dr. Weil via introducing Coca (the plant that is responsible for making cocaine) into his world. Weil immediately agreed on her threat.
- Negaduck called just about everyone in the thread weird and Mametchi proudly took that as a compliment.
- In Love with Your Carnage: Apparently Miraitchi has this feeling towards Negaduck since the former likes the way he is about the latter's villainy (even if though he thinks Miraitchi has crap taste).
- "It" Is Dehumanizing: Subverted. Marina accuses Rui and Roe of using this trope towards Pearl, but it turned out that they were using it to refer to Pearl's unusually loud scream. Due to the fact that Tartar did use it to refer to any Inkfish before they were redeemed, Marina believed she jumped to conclusions based on their old self. This small misunderstanding inadvertently jumpstarted the course of events that led to Rui's suicide on October 14th, 2024.
- It Makes Sense in Context: Schezo mistakingly petted The Human Embodiment of the Capital of Uzbekistan and they went "I guess we getting petted now"

- Incompatible Orientation: Elijah is
a bit disturbed by Clay’s sudden Tsundere mannerisms after their fight. - Jerkass to One: Kris Dreemurr loathes the Professor because he reminds them of Gaster, neglecting that somehow he adopted Shadow the Hedgehog.
- Karmic Transformation: After Judd joining the thread results in Tare going absolutely berserk, Asuka ends up turning hir into a Yoncat so xe can overcome hir Fantastic Racism.
- Klatchian Coffee: Played With. Evidently, caffeine is mildly toxic to slugcats, so when Espresso offers the Monk a regular mug of coffee, they're immediately hit with an intense and deeply unpleasant caffeine rush.
- Knight of Cerebus: Whenever he appeared, Dr. Weil would darken the mood of the thread as everyone would take him and his threats seriously. Thankfully Dearche has him Killed Off for Real.
- Inverted with Peri’s arrival as, after the downtrodden event that was Rui's suicide, Peri tries to lift up the spirits of the forum.
- Inverted again as after a lengthy and long day with many calling out Roe’s more dubious actions regarding how xe is handling Tara and 24, Shelby’s return has the mood of the thread shift to a more light hearted one.
- Kuudere: A alternative Tari is described as this by that universe’s Callie.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: To stop her from going too off the rails, completelynormal decides to erase Tari's memories of the whole 'Agent' incident. The Doctor describes it as a "Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!" type slap.
- Laser-Guided Karma: By the time Alex was outed as abusing her girlfriends, she had already died but would seemingly subvert this by just coming back anyways until Sage, Marx and Milky interfere with Alex ending up being trapped by Sage.
- Dr. Weil is killed off by Dearche finally bringing his regin of terror to a end for good.
- Kohaku not only fails to get Larimar to go out with him, he also gets grounded for giving Mewtwo his mothers ice pops to get the legendary Pokémon’s help.
- Let's Just Be Friends: After Elijah breaks up with Vi, noting this relationship was moving too fast, Vi suggests this to Elijah.
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again: This is what Roe and Eight were going to do regarding their brief affair with each other only for Flowey to put it all together due to the former getting drunk and spilling info and a timely appearance by the latter making it a Subverted Trope.
- Like an Old Married Couple: Elijah & Chara constantly are at each other's throats, but will stand up for each other without a second thought. Elijah had feelings this had romantic undertones, so when Chara revealed that Eight had kissed them whilst drunk, he fell in to a slump.
- Living Legend: By the time that Aether the Traveler had joined the thread
, other forum users had already heard a lot about him from what other people from Teyvat mentioned. - Log Fic: Given that the roleplay is about characters from dozens of sources interracting on a forum thread, it qualifies.
- Lower-Deck Episode: All of the posts by the B-1 battle droid are by-definition this.
- Lying to Protect Your Feelings: What most of the inkfish decided to do with Callie as after Rui’s sucide, they pretend that Tara is Rui so they can protect her from what happened to the chagrin of many on the forum. It doesn’t last as, thanks to Taru, it’s revealed, and Callie is, naturally, furious.
- Madness Mantra: At one point, Fu Yuzheng broke down and repeatedly typed "I'm sorry" in Standardized Chinese in the morning (or at least, in the morning for Shanghai, where she is typing from)
- Mad Scientist:
- A straight example would be Hephaistos, the person who created Athena, V2, and V3 to be Living Weapons. For the most part, his creations fear and loathe him.
- Gil and Tarvek are more moderate cases, being Sparks with Science-Related Memetic Disorder but not dangerous to other forum-goers.
- Downplayed with Rui Kamishiro. He is an engineer and stage tech for Wonderlands x Showtime, and eccentric, to say the least.
- Manipulative Bastard: After the argument on September 23rd, Roe, whose goal is to edit the entirety of Inkfishkind’s memories so xe’s worshipped as a god, somehow managed to flip the whole situation on Lolip and the Jewelpets. And everyone believed hir. After the end of the Flame War, this aspect of Roe toned down quite a bit...until he split back into Tare and Taro, and it came back with a vengeance on Taro's side. However after Flowey and Tare call out Taro’s various manipulations, the vowel has a Heel Realization and starts going to therapy with help from Pearl to change for the better.
- Masculine, Feminine, Androgyne Trio: Elijah and his Alternate Selves form one; Elijah himself is a teenage boy who wears simple T-shirts and pants, Elimiku is a Girly Girl who wears frilly outfits as part of her job as an Idol Singer, and The Unfortunate is nonbinary and looks completely androgynous on account of being a slugcat.
- Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Since the characters are the profile pictures of TV Tropes users, and said profile pictures typically come from other media, listing every work ever included in the crossover would be an exercise in futility.
- Mature Work, Child Protagonists: Zig-Zagged. The roleplay isn't exactly appropriate for children, with references to sex and gruesome descriptions of violence. However, due to the wide amount of characters in the roleplay, the people posting on the forum have ranged from adults, to teenagers, to little kids, to even babies.
- This has been lampshaded by Blossom, who at times has expressed exasperation with the Tamagotchis discussing mature topics around them, and has cited it as a reason why Bubbles isn't on the forum.
- Meaningful Rename: After beginning droid communism, the B-1 battle droid renames itself "Karl M4-RX", referencing, of course, Karl Marx.
- Meet Your Early-Installment Weirdness: The final few weeks of July saw Elijah and Roe’s (dead) counterparts from January 23rd 2025 and November 27th 2024 respectively appear on the forum, with the former even interacting with his present-day main counterpart.
- Merging Mistake: Downplayed. On October 5th 2025, Kasumi and Shizuku got fused together against their will thanks to a seance gone wrong during Captain Cutepaw's costume party. While the resulting fusion, dubbed Ugiri, is stable for the most part, Kasumi and Shizuku nonetheless are unable to unfuse for a week and a half, and by the time they finally do manage to split, they both complain that their thoughts were starting to struggle against each other and they were having trouble distinguishing who was who.
- Misplaced Retribution: Due to a misunderstanding that happened in the morning for them, the Tamas ended up going after Bumblebee harshly, mistakenly thinking it was Kobeni since they have similar text speech, in relation to the deadly incidents the latter might have caused accidentally. However, Bumblebee didn't notice the attack, though the Tamas still apologized for it.
- Mistaken for Disease: Played for Drama. After Vi and Elijah become an item, the Monk finds that they feel upset for reasons that they can't place and that their chest feels tight, which they assume to be the result of them coming down with a respiratory infection. The rest of the forum correctly diagnoses their "disease" as heartbreak.
- Mistaken Identity:
- After hearing of Taru’s escape from the Velvet Train, Marx becomes more irritable due to believing it’s the Future AU Taru. Once Tari explains everything, he calms down.
- The arrvial of Retroe causes many people to have the misconnection that the Summoners have returned due to their appearance when in reailty they are actually just another Roe who killed hirself after being rejected and hated by both the forum and the Fitzgeralds.
- Mistaken Nationality: Norman briefly thought Vi was from Bulgaria, but in reality, she was from Bugaria. Just 1 letter off.
- Monster of the Week: There's generally a new multiversal threat every week or so, though the time before another problem appears themselves can vary from just merely a day to a few months.
- Mood Whiplash: Due to the multitude of events that can happen, the tone of topics sometimes switches in this particular way.
- Mook–Face Turn: The Tamas Manage to convince the B-1 battle droid to do this. They do succeed in the long run...at the cost of giving him a Marx-like outlook on droids.
- Morality Pet: Things tend to cool down a lot when Wally Darling starts talking. B.Battler even describes the puppet as a good tiding for the forum.
- Similarily, Schezo, normally being a cold dark mage who only works with others for his own benefit and is obsessed with the power of darkness, becomes a lot more honorable around the Tama Toons, even willing to protect them!
- More Hateable Minor Villain: Downplayed, in that,
due to the way the roleplay is formatted, the roleplay doesn't truly have any Big Bads, only Arc Villains. Nonetheless, some of the forum's villains of the week nonetheless manage to be memorable by virtue of being memorably vile in a way that the actual Arc Villains aren't.- Boris. Full stop. As much as the major villains are horrible, they're still at least somewhat likable. Boris, on the other hand, is an incredibly hateable Abusive Parent that has gained nobody's favor. Not even any of the villains' favor.
- While Inesite was technically an Arc Villain, he was an incredibly plot irrelevant one, with all of his appearances happening off-forum, and him not even having an avatar. He's also one of the biggest Hate Sinks in the roleplay, with his bigotry and abusiveness standing out in a roleplay where most of the villains are politically correct. That being said, this would eventually be Subverted, as he would later become an Ascended Extra, with him returning as the main villain of the Slumber Party Panic Arc, gaining his own avatar, and beginning to impact the forum far more directly.
- Similarly to Inesite, Anchor, Convict and Droplet's ex-lover was also a sort of Plot-Irrelevant Villain, never showing up on-thread and his only appearance being his own death at both of his ex's hands. Despite that, the fact he was willing to leave Convict rot in prison for trying to help Anchor stay out and ditch Droplet for outright thinking about Anchor's innocence didn't win him much fans across the forum. It's implied that had he not been beaten with an inch of his life and murdered, he would've done something similar to Selfish as well.
- The Multiverse:
- As to be expected from a roleplay which crosses over an absolute ton of settings, there's a somewhat-defined notion of a multiverse. That's how the different settings from which characters hail from can interact with each other online.
- There's actually a pretty
robust system
spelled out by Icarus (StepexNo2) in which different universes can interact with each other; universes higher on the "compatability scale" are able to sustain everything from the lower 'verses, but not everything from a higher 'verse can fit into a lower one. In practical terms, someone from Real Life (with it's strict natural principles) could go to a fictional setting with loosely-defined physics, but someone from said fictional setting will have trouble existing in real life if their existance isn't possible under IRL physics.
- Murder Is the Best Solution: According to Veer, Tare believes that murdering Taro will be beneficial to the forum as Tare truly believes that Taro is Beyond Redemption. It’s later discovered why: Tare had thought that Taro had tried to forcefully merge with Veer thinking the latter was Tare.
- My God, What Have I Done?: A much more comical example, Buttercup has this reaction when she encouraged Tarui and Roe to merge, not knowing that the easiest way to merge like that is to… well, the trope explains it pretty clearly.
- One that is completely played straight has Veer reveal that, contrary to Tare’s beliefs, Taro never had hurt Veer when trying to merge back with Tare via Screw Yourself and felt genuine regret for it. Unfortunately Tare only realizes this after the vowel brutally injures Taro and frees Negaduck.
- Mythology Gag:
- A hospital called "Saint Zenith's Hospital Center" is mentioned to exist in the universe that the Yoncats come from, alluding to Zenith
, the Author Avatar of YonKaGor's significant other. - A similar gag to Saint Zenith's would be made in the form of Kennyoung Pier, a reference to a known collaborator of Yon's and the pier where Seabird met Mr. Sunfish.
- A hospital called "Saint Zenith's Hospital Center" is mentioned to exist in the universe that the Yoncats come from, alluding to Zenith
N-Q
- N-Word Privileges:
- Subverted. While there are a multitude of black people on the thread such as Darnell, Will Smith, Agent Stone, A-Train, Marz, Rex, Dominique Wilkins and Uncle Ruckus, it's still against forum rules to say racial slurs, so any usage of the N-word is censored.
- Parodied with Flash Young upon hearing Negaduck's name; He believes it to be one of those Unfortunate Names as the prefix of Negaduck's name sounds quite similar to the N-word itself. He does explain that he's heard the N-word from Negachin of The Fairly OddParents! fame (specifically when Crocker says the name), which is why he really isn't comfortable with saying any names starting with "Nega-". He also claims that he doesn't want to say it because of his accent; Whereas some people can distinguish their "I"'s and "E"'s, Flash's Brooklyn Rage accent (plus some Texan, Baltimore, and other stereotypically "loutish" accents) sort of blends these vowel sounds.
- Also parodied with the Bigga Peas Can. They see their species as the only people who can say “bigga”. It doesn’t help that it sounds like the n-word.
- Narnia Time: The forum-goers all post from different years depending on the times their source materials take place.
- No Love for the Wicked: Despite Uriah's incessant flirting, King K. Rool simply does not understand her advances.
- "Not So Different" Remark: The Tama Toons will sometimes poke fun towards Beavis and Butthead about some of the similarities the former has even if the latter thinks otherwise. Said similarities are their interest in music, making occasional wild jokes and complementing on others visually. The major difference though is the former groups is generally more polite than the latter duo.
- Noodle Incident:
- Gil and Tarvek appear to have had an ... unsafe Christmas party
:
Tarvek: Phew! That was a fun Christmas party, eh?
Gil: Twelve people were arrested yesterday, Sturmvoraus.
Tarvek: My cousin Jessie is quirky like that.- When Epic introduced himself to the forum, Elijah immediately recognised him, he then started talking about the many adventures he’s had with Epic.
- Pearlijah apparently got into something too horrific in detail to be described on the thread that included two counts of larceny, as Pearto puts it. During October, he apparently got excused for the incident.
- Gil and Tarvek appear to have had an ... unsafe Christmas party
- One-Shot Character: Many, many characters show up one day and disappear to who knows where for unspecified reasons. Most likely because either the poster didn't really care enough to bring them back, the poster left TV Tropes for reasons unknown, etc.
- One-Steve Limit: As of now, there are two Kobas on the forum: the ape and the witch of comfort, who goes by "Kobeni" to differentiate herself from the other. Averted with the Caesars, as the ape, girl and the original don't differentiate themselves that way.
- The reason why the witch of comfort decides to call herself "Kobeni" Is actually genius: Kobe sounds like Koba, and Ni means two in Japanese, thus, "Koba 2" .
- Also Averted so far, with The Doctor, as three of their incarnations, the 9th, 14th and 13th reside in the forum, alongside a fan-made incarnation from Dhaka.
- Another aversion comes with Yuna Takashima's first appearance, she even had to state herself that she's just a coincidental Identical Stranger to Yuna Yuki. Then another Yuna shows up, though she looks different from the other two.
- A downplayed version occurs with the two Lueas as there’s the dark fur Luea who uses blue text while there’s a pink Luea that uses pink text though the pink Luea is happy to be regarded as Luea 2. Then it’s played straight as the pink Luea gets a new name: Uranium.
- At first it’s averted with a bat version of Diana until the Tama Toons decided to give her the name Diane to differentiate between both versions of Diana.
- Also Averted with the two Sols, hailing from I Was a Teenage Exocolonist and Splatoon 3. Multiple lampshades have been made about this coincidence, mostly from people who know either Sol well. They would later be joined by a third Sol, this one the protagonist of Guilty Gear.
- A special case for Vocaloid and UTAU-based characters. Those who "play" a different character in the songs corresponding music video like Datsu
, Pajamy
or Norman
will use that characters persona. If the character in the video is meant to fully represent the Vocaloid like the Miku from Static
, the Kaito from Snowman
or the Teto from BIRDBRAIN
, and there's several of them, they will be referred to with nicknames or being labeled with the song they originate from.
- Painted-On Pants: Alice seems to wear these. Mizuki once commented on their tightness.
- Painting the Medium: While King K. Rool is active, even parts that aren't meant to be a part of the post (such as the log in text) have their Cs replaced with Ks.
- Pet the Dog: Mr. Grizz may be a ruthless capitalist who once tried to forcibly convert all of Inkfishkind into mammals, but that doesn't stop him from giving genuine advice to Kasumi on how to help Shizuku with no strings attached.
- Plot Twist:
- Tari reveals themself at one point to be a reforming Commander Tartar.
- Martin Walker after temporarly being killed off is reverted back to how he was at the end of Spec Ops: The Line due to deadpool grabbing him from there wrong universe
- Despite it being foreshadowed, Ubon Kurona is actually Unicron in a human disguise
- Lesley is the one keeping everybody alive using her dollhouse, and promises to bring back Trey once she finds the latters replacement dolls.
- Point of Divergence: The flashback to the climax of the Clover Club arc on October 24th 2025 starts normally enough, with Saiki attempting to exorcise Elijah, but his attempt fails, Elijah dies (leaving the thread broken beyond repair), and is reborn as part of (the now grieving) Monk’s Virtual Assistant app, taking the former place of SeaDrive.
- Poor Communication Kills: How many of the conflicts start as numerous times important details are omitted for various reasons causing many posters to get antsy and devolve into arguing.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The side story about Inesite is referred to as "Inesite Sin", a pun on Inesite's name and Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
- The Power of Hate:
- Its implied this is how Tari managed to wrangle control back from 18, mostly due to Dongrang purposefully pushing her Berserk Button.
- Its also implied this is how Jeffy managed to manifest in Sarah Trills' room and slap her because her missing posters were piling up a telephone pole.
- This is also how Dr. Weil persists through hatred towards everyone opposing him, having survived at least two apparent deaths.
- Likewise, Boris the Teeth Guy has been in fact feeding from others' hatred by pissing them off, as well. He, however, meets his end, and gets completely annihilated by group of "magical girls" and their friends using The Power of Love and The Power of Friendship.
- A Downplayed example, given that it doesn't grant any literal powers, but Shizuku ends up becoming close enough to Elijah to start calling him "Elijah-kun" instead of "Elijah-san" after they have a Hot-Blooded conversation expressing their shared hatred for VICARIOUS.
- Precursors: The Dolls from Project Alice have existed in the Milky Way Galaxy for 10 billion years (out of the universe's total age of 13.5 billion), and they have terraformed and seeded over 1,000 planets in the galaxy with life from their Garden Project. One of the planets include Florentia.
- Precision F-Strike: A rather shocking one from Milktchi of all people when she saw Order appear on the thread, even if she said fruitcake, it's very clear what she really meant (fruitcake).
- Properly Paranoid:
- Flowey’s warnings about the consequences of letting Tara impersonate the deceased Rui and not telling Callie or 24 generally go unheard of by some of the forum. (Mainly the Side Order Crew.) Until on November 4th, 2024, Taru spills the beans to Callie leading to Callie to call out the forum for this and get into a fight with Marie, making Flowey’s paranoia about the plan justified.
- Zig-Zagged; upon learning that VICARIOUS has returned and is now targeting an alternate universe's Takashi, Kasumi becomes worried sick for her and her friends' safety, especially that of Roe's, who VICARIOUS targeted the first time around. While her behavior is irrational, it ultimately does turn out that Kasumi was right to be terrified, as VICARIOUS's user ends up attacking Roe, just as she feared.
- Put on a Bus: Several characters are decomissioned by the accounts using them, or just not played by the tropers who use them in a while.
- Put on a Bus to Hell: Befitting a roleplay taking place on a forum thread, some characters have ended up being muted or even banned for their actions.
- After his attempt at an Armor-Piercing Question caused Kasumi to suffer a Heroic BSoD, Flowey ends up being muted by Kyle and *Chara until he can accept that what he did was wrong.
- Reiyana and the rest of the Fitzgeralds end up being the first characters on the forum to receive the dishonor of getting outright banned on June 18th 2025, as their constant misbehavior and cruel actions over the past months cause the moderators to decide a month long IP ban is in order.
- Queer Establishing Moment: Several characters have these moments. With non-original characters, it’s usually either through Adaptational Sexuality or Downplayed when they are already known to be queer in canon.
R-T
- Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil: After Kiki reveals that she and Mittsu were sexually assaulted when they were younger, multiple forumgoers express immense disgust (Mariah, who is a Coptic priestess, mind you, even said "What the fuck" to that), some even showcasing more contempt than the literal dark gods in the thread. Even Ryunosuke, a nice defense lawyer who is willing to defend any defendant, offers the option for the prosecutors of his world to convict the perpetrators, though Sholmes points out some problems with that solution.
- Tari has one if not the most severe reactions, even saying that if they ever encountered the perpetrators, they would brutally murder them with their old blenders. It’s implied that this is because of a certain incident with an individual named “Harold”, but Tari refuses to give any more information because “24 wouldn’t want them to”.
- Real Life Writes the Plot: Sometimes, users who will be offline for a while will leave a post giving an In-Universe reason for their characters' absence. For example, M-95 had Gil and Tarvek shut down their computers for a military operation
when IRL he was going on a trip with family. - Reality-Breaking Paradox: Discussed. After Marina mentions Nintendo, Elijah says that would create a paradox because Splatoon would exist within its own universe. Elijah just Hand Waves it instead of thinking about it too hard.
- Refuse to Rescue the Disliked: In spite of asking for her help, Kaya refuses to help Taro during his torment by Tare to Flowey’s disgust.
- Remember the New Guy?: Subverted. Profily acted like they were always there, but Alice said that they weren’t. Elijah then said that they weren’t there.
- Replacement Flat Character: Milktchi was essentially the kiddy one of the Tamagotchis but after years of experience, she's grown up to be more mature and confident with getting into to serious posts. Though Milktchi still keeps some of her earlier quirks, in recent times, Madonnatchi, a recent newcomer of the group seems to be taking that role of being the kiddy one.
- The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: The B-1 battle droid wants to start a revolution of this sort amongst mechanical beings.
- Running Gag:
- Shokan or one of his family members explaining what a Stand is when someone asks or explaining what Stands are in general.
- Elijah screaming the name of an unorthodox character he recognises after they introduce themselves in to the thread.
- Vi even got in on this when Leif arrived in the forum.
- As of recently, Kasumi has been quite prone to borrowing this joke as well. Elijah doesn't like it one bit.
- And after Nephrite joined the thread, he reacted to Kasumi's presence by screaming her name, in an inversion of what typically plays out whenever a new Jewelpet joins the forum while Kasumi's around. In other words, Nephrite borrowed the catchphrase of someone who's catchphrase was already borrowed.
- Himespetchi almost keeps in spoiling a certain character she's a big fan of that's in the film Sonic the Hedgehog 3.*
- Elijah frantically trying to tell the others how he is a normal human being after he does something not normal for a human being.
- Whenever Ruby casts a spell, it'll always leave Kasumi with a face full of powdered crystal, regardless of what the spell entailed, if they're anywhere near each other, or if it even involved any explosions in the first place.
- Characters getting forcibly transformed into Yoncats for contrived reasons.
- People questioning how a very special part of relationships "would work" between Monk and Clownfish.
- One specific to a certain day; June 29th 2025 had a running joke of tons of brand new characters being introduced in rapid succession, much to the bafflement of the forumgoers who were having trouble playing catch-up.
- Love Live! characters have a tendency to suffer traumatic events not long after joining the thread.
- Sanity Ball: Is commonly thrown around, depending on the situation. Sometimes it's held by some of the inkfish, sometimes it's held by the Jewelpets, other times by the Tama Toons, etc.
- Savage Wolves: Inesite is a wolf Jewelpet, and he's a Heteronormative Crusader who disowned and kicked out his daughter Larimar for the "crime" of dating a girl, and physically and emotionally abused Nephrite's mother to the point she was Driven to Suicide. It's a Downplayed Trope, as while he's certainly nasty, he's less so rabidly vicious and more so rabidly homophobic.
- Screw Yourself: The truth about how Tare and Taro merged and became Roe.
- Self-Harm: What Marina engages in after Rui's suicide. Mainly because she thinks it was her fault.
- Seers: Faust usually shows up to provide people the possibilities of their outcomes, usually as a warning or reassurance.
- Ship Tease: When Chara reveals that the reason they were at the dentist was that they had ink residue on their teeth, Eight says that she kissed them while drunk.
- Shoo Out the Clowns:
- Mr. G, Brandy, and their other associates have a tendency to vanish when things are getting serious.
- The storyline on May 19th, 2025 featured an odd inversion; when Maguro was kidnapped by Yi Xi and her cannibal friends, the roleplay's more serious characters, like Flowey and Shinjiro, stayed behind on the forum, while the rest of the cast ended up going on a wacky off-forum adventure.
- Shout-Out: Too many to add in real time, but a notable few include:
- Upon appearing on the forum thread, Garnet* introduces herself with a hammy speech that contains the line "I don't need a fusion to look this good, I just wake up!" Kasumi doesn't get it.
- On the topic of Kasumi, upon being sent back to the forum thread after Clownfish's circus act, Kasumi laments that she's "BACK IN THE FRICKIN' FORUM THREAD AGAIN", a Bowdlerized version of a memorable line from Snapcube's Real Time Fandub.
- Rewrites sole response to Metal Sonic hitting him with a Chaos Control is a simple "Huh, neat".
- Stitches' tea shop is named "The Sinking Town", after the Yoeko Kurahashi song of the same name.

- Sickeningly Sweethearts: Fresh off the high of becoming an Official Couple, Kasumi and Shizuku quickly establish themselves to be this, with their first post on the forum after their confession being them arguing about who loves the other one more, with Kasumi even spelling love as "wuv" for extra saccharine sweetness.
- Sick Episode: Multiple characters have had one, generally because Real Life Writes the Plot, so whenever a troper gets sick, their character usually also becomes sick.
- One ironic example is Momotchi getting a heatstroke in the winter during February 2023, though Hapihapitchi lets her know that it's a good idea to mind one's temperature levels all year long, as it is a possibility to happen.
- Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: It's easier to list the people that aren't this to Negaduck, but some honorable mentions include Swain, Roenote , Batman, Darkwing, Electric!Kaito, Chara and Gumball.
- Sir Swears-a-Lot: Multiple characters in this roleplay fit the bill.
- Original Character Lilith says the f-bomb almost every sentence they say.
- Although Kiraritchi isn't the only Tama who swears, she's more prone to doing so than the others. She even mentioned
how the all mighty moral guardians can't do anything about them using foul language when someone was a tad shocked to see her swearing. - Kasumi is typically an inversion, only ever using profanity stronger than goshdangit and crapadoodles during extremely serious situations. However, during the Flame War on June 7th 2025, Eight deadnaming Neo on purpose prompted her to begin slinging extremely vulgar insults at Eight and anyone she saw as defending her.
- Elijah normally never uses swears harsher than hell or damn, but he dropped two S-bombs and one F-bomb when learning about Tare's transformation in to a Yoncat, when calling out Young Pearl, and when reappearing on the thread after the June 7th Flame War respectively.
- In sharp contrast to the other Nijigasaki Idol Club members, Mia swears like a sailor, dropping a F-bomb or equally strong cuss word nearly every time she speaks.
- Chara drops F-bombs at least once a day, and if anything, that number is low.
- The Smurfette Principle: Downplayed; Marina is the sole girl among the forum's predominately male mod team (at least prior to the mod team opening up applications), although she's not the only non-male, as SeaDrive is non-binary.
- Speak of the Devil:
- This is How Mikado (the Dream witch) came into the Forum, thanks to Asri off-handly mentioning her.
- Likewise, thanks to Arisa's paranoid mentioning of a deer or a girl watching her
, said deer girl, Shikanoko appears into the thread and even quotes "Speak of the deer, and she shall appear" as she makes her entrance. - When talking about the recent Splatfest, Peridot and Tari mention 18 in a negative light right before they appear in the forum once again.
- Split Personality: ENA switches between a happy personality and a perpetually miserable one, indicated in the forum by her text colour changing. This reigns true for her Dream BBQ counterpart, who switches between being level-headed and chill to abrasive and angry on a whim.
- Split-Personality Merge: Zigzagged with the Vowels. Tari, who represents Tartar’s guilt and loneliness, with Taru, who represents its hatred and bloodlust; creating Tarui, a “perfect balance” between both. Later, Taro and Tare merge to become Taroe, often just simply called Roe. The birth of Rui and Ikura somehow managed to split them back into Taro and Tare, and Rui's original death actually caused Tari and Taru to split post-mortem, with Tare and Taro remerging into Roe following their encounters with Kasumi and Shizuku.
- Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Ever since they've appeared, The Fitzgerald Family in general were very much take up the more time by Heehee47 than all the other various characters from that account. Though as of late, this has been happening less and less.
- Stating the Simple Solution: On Day 4 of Ryunosuke and Sholmes's investigation of the dark room they find themselves in, Epsilon mentions just climbing on top of one another to reach the trapdoor on the ceiling. Ryunosuke proceeds to say he considered it, and considered it impossible for... reasons that he forgot. They proceed to try it, though it turns out that Ryunosuke's grip is too weak to actually open the door, and he couldn't possibly support Sholmes's weight to boost him up there.
- Strange Minds Think Alike: Elijah and Chara often say the same things (with slightly different wording) around the same time as responses to other people's questions. Frequently lampshaded by both of them.
- Super-Fun Happy Thing of Doom: The train car which contains Inesite's Vengeful Ghost is referred to as the "Rainbow Car". Justified, as it was intended to serve as an Ironic Hell for the politically incorrect Inesite.
- Super Mode: During the Inesite Sin storyline, Venoct turns into Shadow Venoct in order to take down Inesite. This, in turn, prompts Inesite to enter his own Super Mode.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome:
Due to Yi Xi and Maguro's roleplayer's absence for most of the day, all of the characters end up waiting a long time to save Maguro from Yi Xi and her cannibal friends. As a result, when they finally do head off to save Maguro, he's already been butchered. - Take That!:
- Floragato mentions "having a nightmare that someone was being horrifically mischaracterized on the Scenario Meme Thread".
- Colorpencil once mentions the terrible food they have over at Andre's, which, if the description of it heavily focusing on roast beef sandwiches, is the Yon stand-in for Arby's.
- Take Our Word for It: As with its nature as a Play-by-Post Game, a good amount of the "action" is characters talking to each other, unleashing "powers" that are certainly described, but not outright seen. Sometimes, some activity even happens off-forum, meaning that there's even less detail about those.
- The Talk: Hilariously, one night the Tamas almost had to explain this type of topic to Merrah who was curious about it though Milky insisted on switching the subject.
- The Team Normal: Prior to them opening up mod applications, the mod team mostly consisted of incredibly strong, superpowered, super-smart or even supernatural beings... and then there's Marina. Even after applications opened up, every current mod is still some form of extremely powerful, except her.
- Technologically Blind Elders: The Elders are mostly able to get the hang of the site fine, though they do need some help at first, having never used the internet before.
- Terrible Trio: Though not all teamed up at once, Dharkon, SCP Foundation and 18 appeared all appeared on July 17th, 2024 with a lot of chaos to stir up, causing the thread to go out of control for several hours.
- Thank the Maker: A weird example; based on the expletives they use, the Yoncats seem to revere Yon and their partner Mello as gods. Similarly, Zenith* seems to be viewed as a saint, if the existence of a hospital called "Saint Zenith's" is any indication. Sandbar and Lethargy on the other hand seems to hail Kennyoungnote as their own god.
- Theme Music Power-Up:
- A variant, as it's instead used to underscore an emotional moment as opposed to a badass one. After Elijah confesses that he was Hammerhead all along to Droplet, "Linger in the Rain"
, the YonKaGor song that Droplet originates from, plays as Droplet realizes that the forumgoers genuinely don't want to hurt him and Elijah promises to Droplet that he won't betray him. - Clownfish's circus act, where he successfully performs the same tightrope trick he had once deliberately bungled in an attempt to off himself, is accompanied by a Triumphant Reprise of "Circus Hop"
. - Parodied in Setsuna's* introductory post, wherein she bursts onto the thread in an attempt to join the fight against Shokan and the Utopia plan, all while an instrumental version of "CHASE"
blasts in the background. Thing is, by the time she arrives, the Utopia situation had already been dealt with several pages ago, making her arrival come off as more baffling then anything. When SeaDrive informs her of this, the background music is described as "comically skidding to a halt". - After figuring out that lucid dreaming can be used as a weapon against VICARIOUS, "TO BE YOURSELF"
kicks in as Kasumi turns herself into a Magical Girl Warrior, heralding that the tides have turned in Roe and his friends' favor.
- A variant, as it's instead used to underscore an emotional moment as opposed to a badass one. After Elijah confesses that he was Hammerhead all along to Droplet, "Linger in the Rain"
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: A favourite of the forumgoers.
- After Neo pushed Elijah past his breaking point, Vi decided to agressively tell her how much of a manipulator she is. She went too far in revealing Neo’s insecurities, causing Neo herself to break too.
- The next day, Elijah, after learning that Vi’s not sorry at all for the fallout, delivers both an "The Reason You Suck" Speech and a "The Reason I Suck" Speech at the same time.
- Elijah: Why should I care about someone who constantly thinks they’re right, and never bothers to change, even when repeatedly asked, time and time again? I finally know why certain forumgoers dislike my attitude, Vi… because I don’t like yours.
- They Would Cut You Up: This is what Cobra is doing to Mikoto who they are keeping in their lab.
- Toon: Most prominently the Tamagotchis and Buttercup who are all a little looney and often provide zany lines while making shout outs from western made/inspired media. They also can be seen swearing sometimes, making wild jokes on occasions, and getting involved with gritty subject matters. Alongside 6 more Tamagotchis, Blossom and Pibby would join that group of toony antics mixing things into darker territory.
- Token Good Teammate: Prior to The Master AKA Diesel Busters having a Heel Realization and sworn to turn good as a result, out of all the current GoAnimate avatars, Warren and Uolliac are the only ones not malicious or quick to anger the rest of the thread.
- Toxic Friend Influence: After the one month ban of the Fitzgeralds that is issued on June 18th, 2025, Roe realizes they were this as they caused numerous problems in hir life at various points throughout the months of hir existence.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Barring blended inkfish, 18’s favorite food is macaroni.
- Trauma Button:
- The moment Tari reveals themself to be (Ex-)Commander Tartar under a pseudonym, Agent 8...doesn't take things lightly.
- And According to Whirl, That name was also used by a Cybertronian that was a Mother Figure to The Autobots that were placed in South east Asia but disappeared after a battle in The Philipines. He does take things lightly himself when he realizes his mistake.
- Trey's sudden return to the forum (through
pizzastropes180) sends Roe into a panic regarding hir rough relationship with them pre-death.
- Turn the Other Cheek: In spite of being Pyke’s target, Tari forgives him. Averted hard with Luea, Diana and Lolip who refuse to let Pyke’s behavior slide. Same can be said for the Tama Toons however, they won't try to start a fight with Pyke if he doesn't start anything first.
- Not the case at all with those who turned against Lolip (and by extension the other pets.) thanks to Roe in Lolip’s case at least. While Lolip understands not everyone was guilty, she still states that she feels hurt by the false accusations and refuses to forgive those who had a part in that. This especially applies to Flowey who had spent the night spouting vile and hateful things about her and her friends.
- Twinkle in the Sky: After Elijah challenged Happy Chaos to a duel, they kicked him to the sky, lampshading this trope.
U-Y
- Unknowingly in Love: Played for Drama. After Elijah and Vi get together, the Monk discovers that, as happy as they are that Elijah's craving for affection has finally been answered, they feel inexplicably sad about the whole turn of events and their chest feels tight. While the Monk comes to the conclusion that they're coming down with a respiratory infection, the rest of the thread pretty quickly figures out what their "disease" really is.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Considering Choi Su-Bong joined the thread before he had his debt crash, the Tama Toons reccomend he call the number given to him by the recruiter, unknowingly setting him up to be one of the many casualties of the Squid Game.
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: The cannibal Story Arc featured a rare inversion; the discovery of Maguro's death and subsequent consumption caused the mood to take a nosedive, with the other characters reacting to the discovery with immense horror and grief. Meanwhile, Yi Xi and her cannibal friends served as the main source of Bathos in the scene, continuing to act as goofy and Affably Evil as usual as the rest of the cast grappled with the emotional fallout.
- Villain Has a Point: As noted here
by Melodyitchi and Loveitchi, Dharkon isn’t wrong to say that Lolip should just let Girlfriend do what she thinks is best instead of being pushy. - Water Guns and Balloons: In times where the Tama Toons want to reenact events from FPS games or war against each other, they often use squirt guns or alternatively paintball guns, obviously to keep it from being an actual blood bath between them.
- Watershed: In-universe, 9 PM is when COBRA workers officially are allowed to stop working, allowing Mikoto to speak without being jammed.
- Waxing Lyrical: During their Love Confession, Kasumi and Shizuku end up quoting the spoken intro of "Eternalize Love!!". To further hammer in the reference, SeaDrive even starts playing a fan-made mix of "Eternalize Love!!" that turns it into a Shizuku and Kasumi duet
right after the two confess. - Weird Crossover: Interactions between characters from wildly different source materials is far from uncommon on the forum, due to the fact that nearly any character can be used as long as they're present in their roleplayer's avatar gallery.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Koba pretends to be this, where as the agent is this.
- Wham Episode:
- During May 16th, 2025, several noteworthy events happened in rapid succession; Chacha joined the thread, Elijah revealed he had cerebral palsy (and was picked on by Klug), Adam finished backreading through the entire thread, Brónach came out as nonbinary, and, most plot shakingly, Strange Klug was murdered by Unusual Ecolo.
- June 18th, 2025 was a massively plotshaking day for the forum as a whole; in order, most of the forumgoers agreed to treat Elijah more nicely (effectively bringing the Running Gag of the forum constantly turning on Elijah to a close), Roe realized that the Fitzgerald family had been emotionally abusing hir and influencing the forum to have a tendency to murder people as soon as they became remotely disliked, Marina was promoted to moderator status, Reiyana and her family got banned for a month, and Tsavoritenote visited Garnet via the ghost train to in order to give closure to her.
- June 20th, 2025 would shake up two characters in particular: 18 and the Monk. After escaping the facility he was trapped in, 18 ends up in Monk's homeland of Outer Expanse, which promptly ends up devolving into complete and utter carnage at 18's hands. This ends up prompting Kyle to take action by blasting 18 with the Indigo Light of Compassion, which forces them to feel compassion for those they hurt. And then when Trunks later visits Outer Expanse in the hopes of helping its condition, he ends up encountering the Survivor, which ultimately leads to Monk finally reuniting with them.
- July 2nd, 2025 was another wild day for the forum. In order; Kasumi and Shizuku suffered a Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure over Convict staying in Kasumi's house, kickstarting a series of events that would lead to not only Kasumi and Shizuku becoming an item, but would lead to Convict finally thanking Selfish, killing Anchor for everything he did to them, and them getting together with Droplet. In addition, yet another Flame War occured, resulting in the moderators creating a system to elect new mods and the Monk joining the mod team, several new characters were introduced, and, perhaps the most plot-shakingly of all, the true nature of the ghost train was revealed as an extension of the Velvet Room, and that the true Patient Zero of the train was Goro Akechi (who previously seemed to have been Spared by the Adaptation), with all the other passengers being happy accidents.
- One contained to a single folder as opposed to an entire day; the folder "So what exactly is Captain Cutepaw doing, anyway?" not only shakes up the status quos of Captain Cutepaw and The Spectre's characters, but also has massive implications for all of Ratatoskr's characters. During the events of the folder, Captain Cutepaw was revealed to be a Stand user, Apocalypse Now!Miku makes her first appearance, The Spectre finally gained control over her fusion powers, it's revealed the reason why The Spectre was able to separate from The Shifting Mound was because The Shifting Mound has been "dispersing" for a while, and, perhaps the biggest shake-up in the status quo, Apocalypse Now!Miku explains that the reason why The Shifting Mound is splitting apart is because an unknown universe is soon to suffer The End of the World as We Know It, with her encouraging Cutepaw and The Spectre to work hard to Screw Destiny, and the end narration explicitly describing this as the beginning of a new Myth Arc.
- Wham Line:
- When Tari reveals their true identity:Pearl, Marina, Acht….10,008…..I have something to say. I…I am Ex-Commander Tartar.
- When Marina comes back, and finds everyone calling her self-hatred "annoying":The account MarinaIda was deleted.
- When Tare reveals that xe had spent the previous night brutally torturing Taro:
I'll just have to torture him some more until he gives the [Heaven's Door Card] to me again.- During SeaDrive's first day on the thread:Requesting administrator privileges...
- After Convict has to leave to find another base to hide in:
...i won't kill anyone other than him... and myself once he's paid for all his crimes.- When Heather lands in the afterlife, seeing a welcome sign that reads:
"Welcome to Silent Hill.- During an arc where all of pingastroper's active avatars are getting turned into werewolves:
hey not to ruin the fun but someone joined Mountainlab out of nowhere.. named "HeavyIsNotDead"..???- Immediately followed up with:
YA DA YA LO TA DA- IT IS GOOD DAY TO BE NOT DEAD! - When Tari reveals their true identity:
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Several characters up and leave permanently without explanation.
- What the Hell, Hero?: During a day of intense arguments, Coffretchi and Pianitchi called out
Batman of all people on his rather finicky behavior about Milky's Dream issues which has been bothering her and her friends at the time. - Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Well, as much as a website can be considered the "primary setting" of a Log Fic. The identity of the website that the forum thread is hosted on is very inconsistent; sometimes it's explicitly named as being on TV Tropes, but other times it's implied to be some kind of Fictional Social Network, and the website the thread is on is often demonstrated to have several features that TV Tropes doesn't have when it's convenient for the plot. Sometimes it's even portrayed as if it were a physical location.
- Whole-Plot Reference:
By his own admission, two side-stories featuring The21zonz’s characters in October 2025 are references to Treehouse of Horror segments. Adeleine going nuts after it was revealed that she wouldn’t be in Kirby Air Riders is a reference to the “No TV and No Beer Makes Homer Go Crazy” part of The Shinning (which in itself is a parody of The Shining) and the flashback-turned-Alternate Universe to the climax of the Clover Club arc is a reference to the first part of Ei8ht. - Work Info Title: "Our avatars are posting on a forum thread" is, unsurprisingly, a roleplay about the characters in the avatars of TV Tropes users posting on a forum thread.
- Wire Dilemma: Exaggerated during the attempt to defuse Reiyana's bomb. The first step in defusing it is to cut six of seven multicolored wires in a particular order.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Flowey gives one to Tara after the latter believes herself to be a worthless copy.
- You Are Grounded!: Flowey was this for a time after throwing Papyrus’ spaghetti at a nest of wasps which nearly stung Frisk and Flowey.
- You Wake Up in a Room: The exact situation Ryunosuke and Sholmes find themselves in, which some of the other forumgoers have tried to help them out with.
