In the series finale of Arthur, Michael Yarmush, the original voice of Arthur, reprised his role in the final segment "All Grown Up". At the end of segment, the series fastfowards to 20 years later, with Yarmush potraying the adult version of Arthur. While Yarmush had already returned to show in Season 9 to voice the character Slink (after stepping down as Arthur's voice in Season 6), this coincidentally marked his return to his original role after 20 years.
Gabriel Mann reprises his Wolverine and the X-Men (2009) role as Bruce Banner. Likewise, Alex Désert reprises his role from that show as Nick Fury (which makes sense since The Avengers: EMH and WATXM are set in the same continuity).
In addition to voicing the Hulk, Fred Tatasciore also reprises his role from the bonus levels of the tie-in game to Fantastic Four (2005) as the Thing.
Tom Kane reprises his Next Avengers role as Ultron and his Hulk Vs. and Wolverine and the X-Men role as Professor Thronton due to the fact that The Avengers: EMH is set in the same continuity as WATXM and Hulk Vs.
In addition to Kane as Thronton, Graham McTavish and Kari Wahlgren reprise their respective role from Hulk Vs. as Loki and Enchantress since The Avengers: EMH and Hulk Vs. are set in the same continuity.
While a good chunk of the cast reprised their roles in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, this also went the other way with Loren Lester and Greg Ellis reprising their respective roles as Iron Fist and Rocket Raccoon.
In addition to voicing Thor and the Absorbing Man, Rick D. Wasserman reprised the role of Surtur, who he first voiced in the Thor tie-in game, God of Thunder.
Thunderbirds Are Go features David Graham as Parker, fifty years after he originated the part.
While it was obvious that Peter Cullen would once again voice Optimus Prime in Transformers: Prime, the biggest surprise was that they also got Frank Welker back as Megatron. This time, he did change the "iconic" G1 Megs voice, trading the "wheezy old man" voice for something sounding more rough and tough. "Minus One", much like Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon, also saw Welker reprise the role of Soundwave, who otherwise had no lines.
Transformers: Animated brought an interesting perspective. While Corey Burton became the voice of Megatron, he would also reprise his role as Spike Witwicky (though in brief background cameos) and Shockwave. Another of his characters appeared (Brawn), though he went voiceless.
Also joining him was Susan Blu as Arcee, John Moschitta as Blurr and Judd Nelson for Rodimus Prime.
Every TF series brings back someone from series past to play characters they've played before, even when not connected by continuity. The Unicron Trilogy has the Beast Wars Optimus and Megs return.
In the Italian dub of The Ultimate Battle (a DVD recap of the Unicron Trilogy included with a 2-pack of Classics Optimus Prime Vs Megatron toys), Marco Balzarotti voices Optimus Prime. Since then, he took the role of Optimus Prime in every piece of non-live action product up until Cyberverse.
Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy had Optimus Prime initially voiced by Hiro Diaz before having Jake Tillman reprise his role as the character from Transformers: Cyberverse as of the episode "Rescue Promo". Also returning from Cyberverse are Jeremy Levy, who reprises his roles as Bumblebee and Perceptor, and Todd Perlmutter, who once again voices Ratchet.
The Legend of Vox Machina brought back the cast of the Vox Machina campaign of Critical Role in their original roles: Travis Willingham as Grog, Laura Bailey as Vex, Liam O'Brien as Vax, Marisha Ray as Keyleth, Taliesin Jaffe as Percy, Sam Riegel as Scanlan, and Ashley Johnson as Pike. Amusingly, Matthew Mercer, the DM of Critical Role, does not reprise all of the roles of the NPCs and adversaries he voiced over the course of the campaign, but does portray Vex's pet bear Trinket, some incidental characters, and the main villain of the first season, Sylas Briarwood as well as the first season's Final Boss, Orthax.
The Looney Tunes Show brought back Jeff Bergman from Tiny Toon Adventures and early 90s Looney Tunes shorts for Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Tweety and Foghorn Leghorn. Jim Cummings is back as Taz, Bob Bergen is back as Porky, and June Foray is back as Granny. She no longer voices Witch Hazel (now Witch Lezah), but this is most likely due to the character being completely revamped (it's unlikely Foray would be able to sound anything like Roz Ryan).
Star Trek: The Animated Series brought back the entire original cast from Star Trek: The Original Series, with the exception of Walter Koenig (interestingly, his character, Chekov, doesn't show up at all). In addition, two new characters were added: Lt. Arex (voiced by James Doohan who played Scotty) and M'Ress (voiced by Majel Barrett Roddenberry, who voiced Nurse Chapel).
To add to this, Walter Koenig wrote one episode for the series: The Infinite Vulcan.
The characters of Sarek, Cyrano Jones, and Harry Mudd return for the animated series with their roles reprised by Mark Lenard, Stanley Adams and Roger C. Carmel respectively.
"Bold Beginnings!" featured a pre-episode short called "Space Safari", which was a crossover between Batman and Space Ghost. To sweeten the deal, Gary Owens, the original voice of Space Ghost, returns to reprise his role.
A very...unique example took place in "The Super Batman of Planet X!" Batman visits an alternate dimension that greatly resembles Metropolis, with a super-powered Batman voiced by Kevin Conroy, and differently named versions of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, respectively voiced by Dana Delany and Clancy Brown.
The third segment of the episode "Batmite Presents: Batman's Strangest Cases" has a crossover with Scooby-Doo, with Frank Welker, Mindy Cohn, Grey DeLisle, and Matthew Lillard returning to the roles of Fred and Scooby, Velma, Daphne, and Shaggy.
While Ryan Drummond provided the voice of Sonic in Sonic Adventure in 1998, Jaleel White would reprise his role of Sonic in Sonic Underground. Furthermore, he also provided the voice of Sonic's two siblings: Sonia and Manic.
Sonic Boom featured the voice actors from the games since 2010 reprising their roles: Roger Craig Smith as Sonic, Travis Willingham as Knuckles, Cindy Robinson as Amy, and Mike Pollock as Dr. Eggman (this counts as Pollock's second reprise, since he was among the 4Kids voice actors and was the only one to retain his role after the voice actors were changed). Kate Higgins did not reprise Tails however, being replaced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey, who then took over as the character with the game series.
In Season 2, there were two major changes. Isaac Bardavid (Dr. Robotnik/Eggman), who had voiced that character since Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, was replaced. Also, Tails was recast after his voice actress had issues with the dubbing studio.
The cast of Sonic Boom also carried over to Sonic Prime, but Amy was instead voiced by Bia Menezes, who replaced her mother after her death.
In the French dub, Alexandre Gillet, Marie-Eugénie Maréchal, Sébastien Desjours, Naïké Fauveau, Marc Bretonnière, and Benoît DuPac respectively reprise their roles as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman, and Shadow from both Sonic X and the various games made since Sonic Generations. Benjamin Pascal and Philippe Roullier also respectively reprise their roles as Cubot and Vector from the games.
Captain N: The Game Master brought back Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda (1989) in a couple of episodes with Jonathan Potts reprising his role of Link and Cyndy Preston reprising her role of Zelda. Furthermore, Ganon also made one appearance in the series, all with Len Carlson reprising his role of the evil wizard.
While The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 had an all new voice cast for Mario (Walker Boone), Luigi (Tony Rosato) and Princess Toadstool (Tracey Moore), Toad and Bowser kept their voice actors from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (Harvey Atkins for Bowser and John Stocker for Toad)
Interestingly, Captain Lou Albano voiced Mario in the never before aired pilot.
The crossover with Freakazoid! brought back Paul Rugg as Freakazoid, Ed Asner as Mike Cosgrove, David Warner as the Lobe and Joe Leahy as the narrator. note This would turn out to be the final time Asner & Warner played these characters, due to their passing in 2021 & 2022, respectively
The 2001 revival of Dexter's Laboratory saw the return of the entire voice cast. However, Christine Cavanaugh only reprised the title role for a few episodes before retiring from voice acting and was replaced with Candi Milo for the remainder of the show. Likewise, Allison Moore, the original voice of Dee Dee, got her role back for a few episodes before the role was reverted back to Kathryn Cressida for the final season.
The revival of Johnny Bravo got all of the original cast (Johnny, his mom, and the neighbor Suzy) voiced by the same people.
Dee Bradley Baker originally voiced Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard in the early 2000s Spider-Mangames for the PlayStation. He would reprise the role again in Spectacular.
J. K. Simmons as the voice of J. Jonah Jameson, the character he portrayed in the live-action Spider-Man movies, and Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson from the MCU.
While initially voiced by Tom Kenny, starting with the episode "The Iron Octopus", Dee Bradley Baker would again reprise his role as Dr. Connors/The Lizard from the early 2000s Spider-Mangames. He's also reprise his role from the first game as Carnage.
Coulson was eventually written out of the show. To replace him in Season 4, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge were brought in from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to reprise their roles as Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons.
The episode "Flight of the Iron Spider" ends with the Living Laser ending up in the universe of The Superhero Squad Show and being attacked by Thor. Dave Boat reprised his role as the Super Hero Squad incarnation of Thor for the scene.
Frank Welker has played Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo series since its inception in 1969. But when Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island came out in 1998, it was the first time Fred had been featured in the series in close to 15 years, and he was the only one of the surviving original cast to reprise his role (starting with What's New, Scooby-Doo?, he would take up the role of Scooby-Doo as well).
What's New also saw the return of Casey Kasem as Shaggy, who had been absent from the role for several years following a dispute over the character appearing in a Burger King commercial (Kasem was a strict vegan and only returned under the condition that Shaggy no longer consume meat).note The last time Kasem had voiced Shaggy prior to this was a 1997 Johnny Bravo crossover, and the last before that was the 1994 TV movie Scooby-Doo in Arabian Nights. Unlike North and Jaffe, his reprise was permanent, and only came to an end with his retirement in 2009.
"Scoobynatural", an animated episode of the otherwise live-action show Supernatural, has the then-current voice actors reprising their roles.
The Italian dub of every Scooby-Doo show and movie (except for the live-action prequels, where Fred and Shaggy have different voices) since the first live-action one keeps the same voice cast: Francesco Bulckaen as Fred, Domitilla D'Amico as Daphne, Rachele Paolelli as Velma, Oreste Baldini as Shaggy and Nanni Baldini as Scooby.
In the 1987 Garfield TV special A Garfield Christmas, Jon's brother Doc Boy was voiced by comedian David L. Lander. More than 20 years later, he reprised his role for The Garfield Show.
And of course, Gregg Berger returned to voice Odie.
The 2009 special "The Powerpuff Girls Rule" and the 2014 special "Dance Pantsed" both had every actor from the original show return to reprise their roles.
While the Girls and Princess Morbucks have all been recast for the 2016 reboot, Tom Kenny reprises his roles as the Mayor of Townsville and the Narrator, Roger L. Jackson returns to play Mojo Jojo, Jennifer Hale reprises her role as Ms. Keane, Tom Kane returns as both HIM and Professor Utonium, Jeff Bennett returns as the voice of Ace of the Gangreen Gang, and Jim Cummings reprises his role as Fuzzy Lumpkins.
In the Brazilian Portuguese dub of ThunderCats (2011), Élcio Romar returned to record a few new loops for Snarf (his character from the classic series).
When the main characters from Recess all crossed over into the Lilo & Stitch: The Series episode "Lax" in 2006, Rickey D'Shon Collins, Pamela Adlon, Ashley Johnson, and April Winchell all reprised their roles of Vince, Spinelli, Gretchen, and Miss Finster, respectively. However, since Myles Jeffrey, Jason Davis, and Courtland Mead's voices had completely broke, their roles of T.J., Mikey, and Gus ended up going to Axel Alba, Zack Shada, and Zach Ewing.
Everyone apart from Danny DeVito and Rip Torn (plus Charlton Heston's narrator) returned for Hercules: The Animated Series - though Tate Donovan, who played adult Herc, voices the teenage one that protagonizes the series instead of Josh Keaton. This was caused by James Woods' return, and to show how he loves Hades, apart from a small scene in House of Mouse it's always him when Hades appears (such as in Kingdom Hearts). The crossover with Aladdin: The Series also has Aladdin, Jasmine, Abunote helped by the fact that Frank Welker was already part of the cast as Pegasus, and Jafar again voiced by the same actors.
Sid Raymond returned to voice Baby Huey in the 1994 revival, 35 years after his last animated appearance (but only in the first season; for the second, Joe Alaskey took over the role).
On House of Mouse, many of the living voice actors would return to voice their respective Disney characters, including Jerry Orbach as Lumiere.
In The Emperor's New School, the role of Pacha was passed from John Goodman to Fred Tatasciore. Starting with the second season, Goodman took up the role once more. The series also had Chicha, Kronk, Yzma, and Bucky once again voiced by Wendie Malick, Patrick Warburton, Eartha Kitt, and Bob Bergen. JP Manoux reprises the role of Kuzco from The Emperor's New Groove video game and House of Mouse.
The Addams Family had this happen in nearly all animated incarnations:
John Astin, Carolyn Jones, Ted Cassidy, and Jackie Coogan reprised their roles as Gomez, Morticia, Lurch, and Uncle Fester from the 1960's live-action series for the Addams Family's guest appearance on The New Scooby-Doo Movies.
In The Addams Family (1973), most members of the family had been recast, but Jackie Coogan and Ted Cassidy again played Uncle Fester and Lurch.
The Addams Family (1992) again recast nearly everyone, but had John Astin reprise his role as Gomez Addams once more.
The show featured the voice of Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. Ferrigno famously portrayed the Hulk in the iconic 70s live-action show — which is notable since the Hulk didn't speak in the earlier series and his roars were dubbed over by Ted Cassidy and Charles Napier.
Tara Strong reprised her role as young Ben in the Ben 10: Ultimate Alien episode "The Forge of Creation" and in flashbacks of Omniverse and also continues playing Ben in Ben 10 (2016).
While many characters have been recast for the reboot (such as David Kaye replacing Paul Eiding as Max Tennyson), in addition to Tara Strong playing Ben Tennyson again, the show also has Dwight Schultz reprise his role as Dr. Animo, John DiMaggio return as Four-Arms and Zombozo, and Greg Cipes back as the voice of Kevin.
The Italian dub of the reboot has Gabriele Patriarca play the titular character, reprising the role from Ben 10: Race Against Time. Also, Barbara Pitotti and Toni Orlandi reprise the roles of Gwen and Grandpa Max from the original series.
The Jetsons brought back the entire cast 20 years later to produce another season of shows for first run syndication along with the classics. This was going to happen in Jetsons: The Movie as well, but for two things: First, Daws Butler died shortly before recording began, meaning Elroy had to be recast. Second, Executive Meddling resulted in Janet Waldo being replaced as Judy by pop idol Tiffany, who was originally just going to do her singing voice – to add insult to injury, Waldo had actually recorded all her lines for the movie; she had no idea she'd been replaced until she saw the movie's premiere. The movie also marked the final voice roles for both George O'Hanlon (George Jetson) and Mel Blanc: both died shortly after recording their parts.note According to voice director Andrea Romano, O'Hanlon quite literally died in the booth just as recording wrapped.. Blanc had died a few months earlier. The few pickup lines for George and Spacely were done by Jeff Bergman.
Nearly a decade after the live action Batman series went off the air, Adam West and Burt Ward returned as the Dynamic Duo for Filmation's The New Adventures of Batman. West would again reprise his role as the Caped Crusader during the final two seasons of Super Friends, replacing Olan Soule.
The DiC Entertainment continuation of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero recast most of the characters that returned from the original Sunbow series, but the show did have Chris Latta reprise his role as Cobra Commander, Jerry Houser return to voice Sci-Fi, and Bob Remus return as Sgt. Slaughter. Morgan Lofting and Ed Gilbert also reprised their roles as the Baroness and General Hawk in the first season of the DiC series before being replaced in season two by Suzanne Errett-Balcome and David Kaye respectively.
G.I. Joe: Renegades sees Charlie Adler reprise his role as Cobra Commander from G.I. Joe: Resolute. However, this is the only role he reprised (Gung-Ho didn't appear and Hard Master, Flint, and Stalker One had different voice actors).
An animated episode of the otherwise live-action show Community takes place almost entirely in the G.I. Joe world. Michael Bell reprised his role as Duke and Bill Ratner reprised the voice of Flint, both from the original cartoon.
Neil Ross and Linda Gary from the 80s solo Spider-Man cartoon reprised their respective roles as Norman Osborn and Aunt May (at least until Gary died, regarding the latter).
It also saw reversal of The Other Darrins in other '90s Marvel cartoons as James Avery reprised his role from the first season of Iron Man: The Animated Series as War Machine (likely, in part, due to his replacement, Dorian Harewood voicing Tombstone) and Iona Morris reprised her role from the first season of X-Men: The Animated Series as Storm. That said, Storm is also an example of The Other Darrin in the series, as the X-Men's guest appearance earlier in the series had Storm voiced by her voice actress from Season 2 and onward of X-Men onwards, Alison Sealy-Smith.
The 2006 revival of Biker Mice from Mars recast most of the supporting characters, but some of the actors from the original 1993 series returned to reprise their roles.
Rob Paulsen, Ian Ziering, and Dorian Harewood all return as Throttle, Vinnie, and Modo.
Peter Strauss reprises his role as Stoker for five episodes before being replaced by Jim Ward for the remainder of the series.
William Morgan Sheppard, Susan Silo, and Luke Perry all return to reprise their respective roles as Lawrence Lactavius Limburger, Dr. Karbunkle, and Napoleon Brie.
The Italian dub of every Batman cartoon since Batman: The Animated Series (excluding the movies) keeps the same voice actors for the main characters: Marco Balzarotti as Batman, Davide Garbolino as Robin (he actually voiced both Dick Grayson and Tim Drake during The New Batman Adventures, with the former getting a different voice actor once he grew up and became Nightwing), Enrico Bertorelli as Commissioner Gordon, Riccardo Peroni as Joker and Debora Magnaghi as Batgirl. Other characters were recast between various series, but some voice changes were later kept as the standard voices (Mario Zucca as Mr. Freeze, introduced first in TNBA) and some older voice actors came back in later series (Marina Thovez as Catwoman, replaced in The Batman but came back in Batman: The Brave and the Bold)
Similarly, the French dub for the various DC animated adaptations (both movies and TV shows) regularly have the same voice actors reprise their roles whenever possible. Just to name a few examples, Emmanuel Jacomy voiced Superman in almost all of his animated appearances ever since Superman: The Animated Series; Adrien Antoine has been the voice of Batman in almost everything ever since The Batman; and Delphine Braillon has given her voice to Wonder Woman, with a few exceptions here and there, ever since Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
Starting with Justice League vs. Teen Titans, when the French dubs of the animated films were recorded at Deluxe Media Paris, Antoine reprised his role as Superman from the live-action movies since Superman Returns while Jacomy was instead voicing Batman. This came to a halt ever since Justice Society: World War II and Batman: The Long Halloween. Starting with these two movies, Antoine has been voicing Batman again while Superman is now voiced by Thibaut Lacour, reprising his role from the Arrowverse.
Season 4 features another return from the original actors, with a transdimensional warp causing the modern Ninja Turtles to meet their 80's counterparts. This time, they're joined by Pat Fraley, who reprises his role as Krang.
Same for the Italian dub of the episode, with Luca Semeraro, Diego Sabre, Davide Garbolino, Felice Invernici and Paolo Marchese reprising their roles as Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello and Krang from the 1987 show (and the 2003 too for the four turtles). Since the 2012 series is dubbed in Rome, and the classic series in Milan, this is even more impressive. (Still, Marchese now lives in Rome, while Garbolino sometimes works there).
The Polish dub instead uses the Turtles' voice actors from the 2014 movie except Donatello, because his movie actor is the same as in the cartoon.
The Grand Finale of the series consists of another crossover with the 1987 cartoon that again has the cast from the original show reprise their roles, only this time Cam Clarke and Barry Gordon also get to reprise their roles as the original 1987 incarnations of Rocksteady and Bebop. However, the 1987 Shredder ended up being voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson because James Avery was deceased.
In the Italian dub, while the voice actor of the 1987 Shredder Marco Balzarotti is still active, for some reason they instead used Mario Zucca, the voice of the 2003 Shredder.
When the main characters were recast for the second season of Jonny Quest: The Real Adventures, Rob Paulsen and Granville van Dusen returned to the roles of Hadji and Race Bannon, respectively, having previously voiced the characters in the '80s series and '90s telefilms. However, van Dusen only reprised Race for a few episodes, before Robert Foxworth took the role.
While as noted elsewhere on this, the DC Animated Universe is the source of many examples of this trope, it also goes the other way around as some actors reprised roles from older works:
The Superman: The Animated Series episode "Feeding Time" sees Mel Winkler reprise his Lois & Clark role as William Henderson (albeit there, according to the credits, at the character's then-current rank in the comics as Metropolis' police commissioner).
In addition to returning as the Joker and voicing Solomon Grundy, the Justice League Unlimited episode "Flash and Substance" sees Mark Hamill reprise his The Flash (1990) role as the Trickster. The character was even modeled on Hamill and added elements of the Trickster's TV appearances in the design.
While originally played by Robert Morse in Superman: The Animated Series, Desaad's appearance on Justice League had René Auberjonois reprise his role as the character from Super Friends.
Reconstructed with Get a Horse, with Walt Disney, Marcellite Garner and Billy Bletcher all reprising the roles of Mickey Mouse, Minnie and Pete decades after their deaths via archived audio.
The Italian dub of ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks features the voice actors from the live action movies for the Chimpunks and the Chipettes.note More precisely, it's the cast from The Squeakquel, since the latter two movies replaced respectively Jeannette and Simon The English version retains Ross Bagdasarian Jr. and Janice Karman as their roles from the 80s show as well, with the exception of Eleanor, who is instead voiced by their daughter, Vanessa Chambers.
Luis Alfonso Mendoza came back as Count Duckula in the Mexican Spanish dub of the Danger Mouse reboot, after not having voiced that character in over 20 years.
In the Italian dub, Pietro Ubaldi also reprises the role of the Count.
In Season 4, Hayley Atwell reprises her role as Peggy Carter from the movies and Agent Carter. Wynn Everett also reprises her role as Whitney Frost from the aforementioned Agent Carter for Season 4's Halloween Episode.
Keston John, Daisy Lightfoot, and Trevor Devall reprised their respective Lego Marvel Super Heroes - Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda role as Killmonger, Shuri, and Klaue.
The Italian dub of The Real Ghostbusters features Oreste Rizzini, Mario Cordova, Sergio Di Giulio, Gianni Bertoncin and Cristiana Lionello reprising their roles respectively as Peter, Egon, Ray, Winston and Janine from the live action movies (albeit the latter two voiced the characters only in the second movie and not in the first one). Also, in Season 4 Egon's voice actor was replaced with Claudio Capone, who already replaced Mario Cordova as Egon in the dub of the second movie.
In the French dub, Bernard Murat and Jean-Pierre Leroux reprised their roles as Peter and Egon respectively from the live-action movies. Leroux would later continue to do the voice of Egon in Extreme Ghostbusters.
Tony Anselmo returns to voice Donald Duck in DuckTales (2017). Normally, this wouldn't be anything notable, since he's been the official voice for the past thirty plus years, but this also makes him the only returning main cast member from the original DuckTales (1987).
Corey Burton also reprises the role of Ludwig Von Drake.
Of all the dubs, the European Spanish dub manages to not only keep the translator (Kenneth Post) and studio (Abaira had evolved into SDI Media), but Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, Launchpad and Mrs. Beakley all have the same voices from the original series (which was actually dubbed in 1998).
In the Italian dub, Paola Giannetti reprises her role as Ma Beagle from the original show. Also, Raffaele Uzzi reprises the role of Duckworth.
The French dub keeps Jean-Claude Donda as Launchpad McQuack, while Alexis Tomassian and Donald Reignoux reprise their characters from Quack Pack, Dewey and Louie, respectively.
In the Norwegian dub, Harald Mæle returns as Scrooge, Anne Marie Ottersen returns as Mrs. Beakley, Ivar Nørve returns as Gyro Gearloose and one of the Beagle Boys, Inger Teien returns as Magica, Kari-Ann Grønsund returns as Ma Beagle, and Anders Hatlo returns as one of the Beagle Boys.
The Russian dub was done by Nevafilm, who redubbed a few episodes of the original series in the early-to-mid-2000s. As a result, they brought back Valery Kukhareshin as Scrooge, Tatyana Ivanova as Beakley, and Marianna Mokshina as Webby, all of whom had previously played those roles in those redubs.
The Show Within a Show version of Darkwing Duck from "Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!" has Jim Cummings reprising his iconic role as D.W., in addition to Michael Bell as Quackerjack. At the end of "The Duck Knight Returns", Jim Starling , the original actor to play Darkwing Duck in this series, becomes Negaduck, who Jim Cummings also voiced in the original series, while this show's version of Drake Mallard (voiced by Chris Diamantopolous) becomes the new Darkwing Duck like Drake Mallard in the original series.
In the Norwegian dub, Anders Hatlo returns as Darkwing, Harald Mæle returns as Quackerjack, and Helge Winther-Larsen returns as Megavolt.
The 2017 revival of Samurai Jack has many of the actors from the original show return to reprise their roles. Aside from Phil LaMarr returning to play Jack himself, the revival also has Sab Shimono and Lauren Tom reprise their roles as the samurai's parents and even has John DiMaggio return as the Scotsman. The most notable exception is Aku, who is now voiced by Greg Baldwin because of Mako's passing; this still qualifies as a reprise because Baldwin previously voiced Aku in FusionFall.
On Mickey and the Roadster Racers , while Donald is voiced by Daniel Ross instead of Tony Anselmo (due to the latter working on DuckTales, as mentioned above, and Kingdom Hearts III), everyone else returns to their roles, which includes: Bret Iwan as Mickey, Bill Farmer as Goofy, Pluto, and Horace Horsecollar, Russi Taylor as Minnie, Tress MacNeille as Daisy and Chip, Corey Burton as Ludwig Von Drake and Dale, Jim Cummings as Pete, Carlos Alazraqui as Panchito, Rob Paulsen as Jose, Nika Futterman as Cuckoo Loca, April Winchell as Clarabelle, Maurice LaMarche as Mortimer Mouse (although he's renamed Morty McCool), Frank Welker as Butch and Figaro, and Avalon Robbins and Grace Kauffman as Millie and Melody (Minnie's nieces).
In 2006, PBS Kids released a Curious George cartoon, with Frank Welker reprising the role of George from the theatrical film that year.
Sofia the First has several crossovers with other Disney cartoons, with many of the actors who currently portray certain characters returning to voice them, including: Jennifer Hale as Cinderella, Barbara Dirickson, Russi Taylor, and Tress MacNeille as Flora, Fauna, and Merriwether respectively, Linda Larkin as Jasmine, Ming-Na Wen as Mulan, Lea Salonga as the singing voice for both Jasmine and Mulan, Julie Nathanson as Belle, Jodi Benson as Ariel, Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, Josh Gad as Olaf, Jeff Bennett as Merlin, Katie Von Til as Snow White, and Ruth Connell as Merida (the latter reprising her role from Disney Infinity).
All Hail King Julien sees Danny Jacobs, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Andy Richter reprise the roles of King Julien, Maurice, and Mort from The Penguins of Madagascar. Danny also reprises the role from the video games and NBC specials while Andy reprises it from the aforementioned specials and movies.
Alex's cameo in the series finale sees him voiced by Crispin Freeman, who voiced him in the second and third video games.
While Wasabi and Fred are voiced by Khary Payton and Brooks Whelan instead of Damon Wayans Jr. and TJ Miller, Big Hero 6: The Series sees Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit, Jamie Chung, Génesis Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, Alan Tudyk, David Shaughnessy, and Stan Lee return as Hiro, Baymax, GoGo, Honey Lemon, Cass, Krei, Heathcliff (Fred's butler), and Fred's Dad, respectively. Paul Brigs also reprises Yama. Daniel Henney also voices Tadashi again, though given the character's death, it's only in flashbacks and recordings.
The Italian dub also brings back most of the movie cast: only exceptions are Baymax, Aunt Cass and Krei, voiced by Massimiliano Manfredi, Elena Perino and Alessio Cigliano instead of Flavio Insinna, Virginia Raffaele and Massimo Rossi (the former two are celebrities, so their replacement was to be expected).
The two Spumco shorts for The Jetsons sees Jeff Bergman once again voicing George Jetson and Mr. Spacely. He previously did the remaining dialogue for the 1990 movie when the original actors passed away.
Mae Whitman reprises her Batman: The Brave and the Bold as Batgirl. She was eventually replaced in season 5 by Ashlyn Selich, who voiced her in the franchise's Lego projects.
In a special crossover episode with Captain Planet and the Planeteers, David Coburn and LeVar Burton reprise their roles as Captain Planet and Kwame. Coburn's reprisal is notable since he now lives in France.
The episode "Crossover Nexus" features characters from almost everyCartoon Network series, but the few that have lines are voiced by those who are already in the main cast.
The Laverne & ShirleyAnimated AdaptationLaverne and Shirley in the Army had Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams reprise their respective roles as Laverne DeFazio and Shirley Feeney.
Skylanders Academy : Richard Steven Horvitz, Jonny Rees (aka Greg Ellis), Bobcat Goldthwait, Billy West, and Fred Tatasciore are the only actors from the games to reprise their roles as Kaos, Jet-Vac, Pop Fizz, Food Fight and Snap Shot respectively.
The French voice cast is mostly the same as the video games, except for Spyro (Alexandre Gillet, who instead reprises his role from The Legend of Spyro), and Cynder, Coco Bandicoot and Malefor.
Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel has many voice actors from Ultimate Spider-Man (2012) and Avengers Assemble reprising their roles, including Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, Drake Bell as Spider-Man, Chi McBride as Nick Fury, Travis Willingham as Thor, Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man, Liam O'Brien as the Red Skull, and Charlie Adler as M.O.D.O.K.
The Marvel Rising franchise features many voice actors reprising their roles from various Marvel properties:
Kevin Conroy reprises the role of Batman, having portrayed the character in multiple animated series, animated movies, and video games ever since Batman: The Animated Series. Likewise, Mark Hamill returns as the Joker and the Trickster.
Jaleel White reprises his role as Steve Urkel from Family Matters.
The Latin Spanish dub has Rafael Monsalve (in his first work for Etcetera Group since 1999) reprising Yakko, Giset Blanco (via the Miami branch of Etcetera Group) reprising Wakko, and Frank Carreño (again, via the Miami branch) reprising Pinky.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars has a significant amount of actors that reprise the roles that they previously portrayed in the Star Wars franchise:
Some of the actors reprised their roles as the characters that they portrayed in the theatrical films. They include Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Ahmed Best as Jar Jar Binks (although Binks was voiced by Phil Lamarr under the pseudonym "B.J. Hughes" in three of the season one episodes), Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn, Pernilla August as Shmi Skywalker, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Daniel Logan as Boba Fett & the younger clone cadets, and Matthew Wood as General Grievous & the Battle Droids.
Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Lee also reprised their roles as Mace Windu and Count Dooku respectively in the Pilot Movie before being replaced for the rest of the installment.
The Art-Shifted SequelStar Wars Rebels has James Earl Jones reprising his role as Darth Vader from the original trilogy. Not only that, but they also got Frank Oz to return as the voice of Yoda, and in possibly the most unexpected reprisal of all, Paul Reubens to reprise his role as RX-24 "Rex" from the original version of Disney's StarTours Ride. Billy Dee Williams also returns to voice a younger (but still the coolest guy in the galaxy) version of Lando. As a result of being a sequel to The Clone Wars, this series has the following role reprisals: Matt Lanter as Anakin Skywalker, James Arnold Taylor as Obi-Wan Kenobi (albeit the younger, prequel era one), Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano, Phil LaMarr as Bail Organa, Stephen Stanton as Tarkin, Sam Witwer as Darth Maul, Jim Cummings as Hondo Ohnaka, and Corey Burton as Gobi Glie. Forest Whitaker and Genevieve O'Reilly also reprise their respective roles as Saw Gerrera and Mon Mothmanote The latter of which was already a reprisal from Revenge of the Sith from Rogue One in Season 3. Darth Sidious was voiced by two different people during the show's run. In the season 2 premiere The Emperor was voiced by Sam Witwer who previously played him in The Force Unleashed video games while in Season 4 Ian McDiarmid reprises his role from the films.
From the Clone Wars animated series: The show sees the return of Dee Bradley Baker as Hunter, Crosshair, Tech, Echo, Wrecker and Captain Rex. Additionally, Stephen Stanton returns as Admiral Tarkin, Andrew Kishino returns as the younger Saw Gerrera, Gwendoline Yeo returns as Nala Se, Benjamin Diskin returns as as AZI-3, Matthew Wood returns as the Battle Droids, Corey Burton returns as Cad Bane and Seth Green as his droid, Todo 360, and Tom Kane returns as the narrator.
From Rebels: Freddie Prinze Jr. returns as a young Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus in the first episode.
From the live-action films: Ian McDiarmid once again returns as the Emperor.
From the live-action shows: Ming-Na Wen reprises the role of Fennec Shand, the character she portrayed in The Mandalorian.
More of a Mythology Gag, but archive audio of Raphael Sbarge as Scorch grunting in pain is used when the character is hit with stun blasts in the episode "War Mantle".
The X-Men: The Animated SeriesSequel SeriesX-Men '97 will see much of the original cast return, including Gambit undergoing The Original Darrin with Chris Potter coming back instead of Tony Daniels and Rogue being voiced by Lenore Zann after Zann spent a decade taking a break from acting to focus on her political career. However, some roles will be undergoing The Other Darrin, including Cyclops (due to the passing of Norm Spencer) and Jubilee (while Alyson Court is coming back, she did also state as far back as 2020 that she'd join the spate of white voice actors leaving non-white roles) and likely Magneto and the Sentinels if they appear (David Hemblen, Magneto's voice actor, passed away a few months after Spencer and David Fox, the voice actor for the Sentinels and Master Mold, died days after X-Men '97 was announced).
The CGIreboot of Rugrats recast all the adults with more modern actors, largely out of necessity because many of the original actors either died, had retired, were unavailable or were too old to reprise their roles. However the titular babies (sans Kimi upon her re-debut due to Dionne Quan having retired in 2015) have their original voicesnote Technically, Nancy Cartwright isn't Chuckie's original actor, but she took over the role after the late Christine Cavanaugh retired. with E.G Daily, Nancy Cartwright, Kath Soucie, Cheryl Chase, Cree Summer and Tara Strong returning as Tommy Pickles, Chuckle Finster, Phil & Lil DeVillenote Soucie doesn't reprise her role as their mother Betty DeVille because she can no longer do Betty's voice, Angelica Pickles, Susie Carmichael and Dil Pickles, respectively.
The Italian dub features Maura Cenciarelli, Tatiana Dessi and Monica Ward reprising their roles as Tommy, Chuckie and Angelica from the original series' second dub.
