  • [C] - Control: Sho Minazuki is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life as a civil servant. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him the chance to make money fast. From then on Sho is drawn into a mysterious realm known as "The Financial District," where people engage in supernatural battles for the possibility of money and meets the mysterious Touka Kirishima.
  • Canaan: Beginning professional photographer Chloe travels to Shanghai to meet Mirelle Bouquet, a girl who saved Chloe before. Uno targets her, causing Mirelle to rescue her again. Every now and again, Subaru Mimasaka shows up as a Taxi driver.
  • CardCaptors: When her father Miroku brings home a book from the university he teaches at, Ali O'Keefe accidentally releases the seal on the book's cover and sends the magic cards inside scattering to the winds. Ed, the guardian beast of the cards, tasks her with their recovery, bestowing unto her a magic staff and the ability to manipulate the cards' power. Now, alongside her best friend Kitty 'Shadowcat' Pryde, she tracks down the cards, often butting heads with her rival Shane Yamada-Jones and his childhood friend (/cousin) Princess Celestia, all while trying to keep this new life of hers a secret from her family (consisting of her father, and her brother Eddy) and her crush Edd. In time, she even meets the magician who created the cards, Cell.
    • Clear Card: Princess Sakura and Syaoran are starting junior high school. With the Final Judgment passed, Sakura thinks school life will be quiet, but then all her cards suddenly turn blank. The mysterious new power she discovers will change how she thinks about her powers. all of which were allegedly involving Kirie Sakurame, Sakura's new classmate and her butler Sir Nighteye.
  • Casshern Sins: America is a robot who wanders around attempting to atone for the fact that he killed Francesca Lucchini. Tony Tony Chopper wants him dead but later falls in love with him. His main rival is Jimmy Kudo.
  • Castle in the Sky: Rogue and Rex Tamlin try to prevent Dr. Robotnik and Fire Lord Ozai from getting to a floating city.
  • The Cat Returns: Mia Thermopolis (her best friend is Veronica Mars) meets with The Dread Pirate Wesley and his friends Frank Barone and Rubin Tishkoff after she accidentally catches the eye of Dr. Frank N. Furter, who wants her for his daughter-in-law.
  • Cells at Work!: Sarada Uchiha is a red blood cell whose job is to deliver oxygen throughout the body. When diseases and other harmful foreign agents invade, Naofumi, a stoic white blood cell, and Mitsuki, a serious killer T-cell, are among those fighting on the front lines.
  • A Certain Magical Index: Yurio Pisletsky is a student living in Academy City, a highly advanced place in terms of technology. Despite being gauged as a level zero esper (no powers), he possesses on his right hand the Imagine Breaker, an ability that negates any power whatsoever. Yurio finds a young girl named Mirajane Strauss who is trying to run away from Necessarius, a powerful magic organization that she is member of. Blessed with the skill of memorizing any sort of information, she holds 103,000 forbidden magical books within her head. As science and magic cross paths, Yurio must face several dangers amid espers like Katsuragi and Tusk and magicians like Seraphim and Doffy who appear in the exciting scientific town.
    • A Certain Scientific Railgun: Katsuragi, one of the top level espers in town, shares a room with Chelia Blendy, another high-level esper who is a member of Judgement, a law enforcing agency composed of students. Both attend to Tokiwadai, a private school reserved for the high-leveled and the rich. Chelia's partner at Judgement, Makoto Niijima, is a low level esper who studies at Sakugawa middle school. Her best friend and classmate there is Sakura Minamoto, a level zero (no esper powers). Together the four encounter several adventures in the exciting scientific town.
  • Chaos;Child: A new string of deaths similar to the New-Gen murders have started up in the newly rebuilt Shibuya area. These incidents have taken the attention of Highschooler Kotaro Tatsumi, and the newspaper club. Investigating the incidents of the present as well as their connection to the events of the New-Gen Crimes Takuru and his friends Fubuki, Kuma, Jeanne, La Hire, and Irina Shido find themselves being pulled deeper into the incidents than they ever believed possible.
  • Chaos;Head: Nobuyuki Sugou suffers from intense delusions as a result of his apparent schizophrenia and the extremely secluded lifestyle he lives as a hikkikomori. One day he accidentally stumbles upon a gruesome murder scene, a part of a chain of events called "New Generation". After this, his life gets caught up in these events, and he meets a bunch of increasingly insane anime girls with swords. They are Hafuku, Erza, Koyomi, Usagi, Nymph and Evande.
  • Charlotte: Noctis Lucis Caelum has the ability to possess other people for five seconds unbeknownst to others in order to satisfy the teenage boy's life: from taking revenge against bullies to cheating in an exam. Everything is perfect until one day, a mysterious girl from another high school, Kyouko Sakura, suddenly appears in front of him and ruin his normal day in high school by exposing him of cheating. Noctis tries to flee from Kyouko only to get caught by Takumu Mayuzumi. After this, he and his little sister, Umi Sonoda are transferred to Hoshinoumi Academy, the school full of students with special abilities. Now being part of the student council, He, Kyouko, and Takumu, these three reveal the destiny of their fellow ability wielders and trying to keep them responsible and not use their abilities for selfish acts just like Noctis.
  • Children of the Whales: A boy named Renton Thurston lives on the giant vessel Mud Whale that drifts over the sea of sand. Renton and his friends Natsu Dragneel, Eren Jaeger, and Chiaki Nanami have never seen anyone from the outside world, and they spend their days yearning to explore and learn about it. One day, a ruined ship suddenly drifts ashore, and Renton meets a girl named Ray Beams inside.

  • Chrono Crusade: Shiraume Noyamano and Negi Springfield fight demons. Negi is a Hunter of His Own Kind. Later, they're joined by healer Misaki Suzuhara and German!Maki.
  • Citrus: Hanamaru Kunikida imagined the first day at her new school she transferred to after her mother’s remarriage a bit differently; she didn’t know it’d be an ultra-strict and conservative girl Akari Hyuga – who turns out to be her new stepsister. And she has to learn that hate and attraction are often not that far apart.
  • CLANNAD: d'Eon de Beaumont has a chance encounter with Kaname Chidori, who is interested in reviving her school's drama club. d'Eon's buddy Negi Springfield gets beaten up a lot, mainly by Fenrir.
  • Claymore: after seeing her mentor Esdeath at the hands of Chopper, Yugiri seeks to avenge her death by becoming a Claymore like her.
  • Code:Breaker: Rutile has an encounter with Soul Evans, who possesses abilities that he uses while for working for a secret organization of the government.
  • Code Geass: The Black Ranger tries to end the occupation of Japan and build a better world for the sake of Mihoshi after gaining powers from Sakura. This is complicated by the appearance of his old friend Ben Tennyson on the other side.
    • In the second season, The Black Ranger is leading his resistance out his high school with the help of Hanataro Yamada and Mai Valentine. Ben works together with his own Quirky Miniboss Squad, which includes Eureka and Sora. The Black Ranger also must take down his Magnificent Bastard brother, Madarao.
    • Akito the Exiled: Europe, where the Euro Universe (E.U.) allied nations are being invaded by the overwhelming forces of the Holy Britannian Empire. On the verge of defeat, the E.U. army forms a special division known as “W-O″, of which a young pilot named Yurio is a member. Siluca Meletes , a former Britannian Aristocrat comes to the E.U.'s aid, commanding the “Wyvern” Knightmare corps comprised of Japanese teenagers like Yukio, Leon Luis, Albedo, and Tamaki Amajiki. They recklessly plunge into a battlefield, where the survival rate is extremely low, at about 5% only. They fight for their freedom, and for a "home" to which they can return.
  • Corpse Princess: After being murdered, Lenalee Lee turns into a living "Shikabane Hime" ("Corpse Princess"). Armed with dual MAC-11 submachine guns, she must kill 108 other Shikabane in order to gain entry into heaven. She is assisted in this task by Acnologia, a Buddhist monk with links to an anti-corpse group known as the Kōgon Sect. Her ultimate goal is to avenge the death of her family, by destroying the Shikabane known as the Seven Stars. Yoh Takami meets Lenalee and becomes her 2nd contracted monk after Acnologia died.
  • Cowboy Bebop: Starscream, Barrett Wallace, Haruhi Suzumiya, and Gaz are four people who try to make a living as bounty hunters while also looking for Starscream's girlfriend Nina Williams and avoiding his greatest enemy: Ben Bertolucci.
    • Cowboy Bebop: The Movie: Starscream must stop a terrorist named Knock Out from setting off a deadly bio-weapon. Jean Grey is connected to Knock Out in a way.
  • Cromartie High School: Kingsglaive, Pegasus Seiya, Kimura, and Mythos (who is totally not a robot) are a gang of delinquents attending the world's toughest high school.
  • Cyborg 009 (2001 version): Tetsuo Shima leads a Multinational Team of cyborgs to fight against the evil Myotismon. Among his team members are Jin, a hot-blooded punk from New York; Kaoru Kamiya, a French ballerina; Dondochakka, a former legend of the British stage; and Flint, a young baby with incredible psychic powers.
    • Cyborg 009 VS Devilman: After discovering the existence of demons in Tokyo, the original Cyborg crew led by Yukio Okumura find themselves in conflict with Meliodas, a strong demon believed to be in league with the war-profiteering terrorist organisation, Black Ghost. Meanwhile, a bigger threat emerges when Hercales, a Black Ghost scientist unleashes his new line of high teen Cyborg models against Yukio and his friends.
    • Call of Justice: After defeating Black Ghost, Hyde Kido and his friends were being called again in action as they deal with a mysterious organization led by Dio Brando.

  • Yo Kai Watch: Noby tries to quell with supernatural sightings of Yo-kai in his city with the help of his butler, Mr. Persnickety. Some of the Yo-kai he befriends are a cat named Miss Sunshine, a human-faced dog named Mr. Bump, and a country bumpkin named Clementine, while Brobot is a classmate of Noby's.
    • In season 3, Ann Takamaki goes on her own adventures with a rabbit-like astronaut Yo-kai named Baby Rowlf. Meanwhile, Noby is now Akira Fudo, Little Miss Sunshine is 2B, and Mr. Persnickety is now Gen.
  • Yona of the Dawn: Tenjin of Kouka, a land said in legends to have been founded by four dragons, has only one remaining heir, a daughter named Bulma. She lives a happy life in the palace with her cousin Yurio, who she loves in spite of her father's opposition to them marrying. Her life is turned upside down when Yurio murders her father and steals the throne. Bulma, with her childhood friend and bodyguard Vegeta, must retreat to gather allies like Trunks, Whis, Grand Minister and Meow and reclaim her place as ruler of the kingdom.
  • Youjo Senki: Tyrian Callows, an arrogant salaryman, was reincarnated by a wrathful god as a little girl named Ema Guzman in an alternative version of World War I.
  • Your Name: Leonardo and Sailor Moon find themselves switching bodies. When Leonardo, along with help from Takashi Kamiyama and Ragyo Kiryuin investigate, they discover shocking news. Now through their body swaps Leonardo, Sailor Moon, and her friends Taiga Aisaka and Gohan must work together to prevent tragedy. And in the process, Leo and Sailor Moon realize that they're falling for each other.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh!: Knuckles The Echidna, former pharaoh of Egypt, is reincarnated in the body of Nezumi, who solved his puzzle. Together with Nezumi's friends Michaelangelo, Yusei Fudo, and Max, and Knuckles's rival Brock, they play children's card games. Michaelangelo has a romantic subplot with Rangiku Matsumoto. All of the good guys join forces to ultimately take down JACK ATLAS.
    • In the third season, they are (randomly) abducted by Brock's stepbrother Elder Price.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Zero enrolls into a duelist academy, where he becomes friends with Michelangelo and King Dedede, as well as finding rivals in Casey Jones and Gonard. Eventually, he battles Kuina and discovers she was his best friend in his past life. Finally, he battles against Grovyle.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Big The Cat recruits Tristan Taylor, Tracey Sketchit, Luffy, twins Tory Lund and Zoey Drake, later joined by Johnny Steps, (who later on gets replaced by Gible). The six of which have been marked to fight Duke Devlin, and his minions Codemaster Hotekk, Doctor Shishioh, Ash Ketchum, Kidd Summers and Goku.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL: A boy named Sawyer, always loses in duels despite the number one bad boy at his school. Something unexpected happens when Lazar challenges him to a Duel as the mysterious ghost of Volfogg appears before them, a new legend begins.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V: Clemont is a 14-old year student who wants to become a professional entertainment duelist to give everyone a smile, but one day, he ends up fighting an exhibition match against the current champion of the Pro Duel World. This fight will lead him to make a decision, and confront the difficulties to make his dream come true.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS: he city where network systems are developed: Den City. The giant company SOL Technology Co. is based there, and it uses advanced technology that it created to construct "LINK VRAINS," a virtual-reality space. In LINK VRAINS, a mysterious hacking group that hacks through duels called "The Hanoi Knights" appears. Their goal is to bring about the destruction of the "World of AI: Cyverse" that exists somewhere in the network. However, there is one duelist in LINK VRAINS willing to stand up to this threat. His name is Professor Sycamore. Prof. Sycamore defeats The Hanoi Knights in a fierce duel, and then leaves without saying a word. Playmaker's real identity is the high school student Dumon. For Dumon, he spends so much time in LINK VRAINS because he is searching for the truth to an incident that happened in his past.
  • Yuki Yuna is a Hero: In her everyday life, Hanayo Koizumi is a hero. As proof, she is the member of the middle school's hero club alongside her friends, Emi Igawa, Yuuki Konno and Yuuki's sister, Kirin Toudou, a school club where she does her best to help others and bring smile to everyone. However, Hanayo's responsibility gets real when the mysterious creatures called Vertexes begin to attack and destroy the world. In the process, the entire club are called upon by a strange phone app to save it. The Hero Club must fight all the monsters in order to save the world from Vertex attack. They are later joined by a second-year student, Sayaka Miki, to supervise other Heroes under orders from the Taisha.
  • Yuri Kuma Arashi:
  • Yuri!!! on Ice: Lithuania becomes a figure skater under the tutelage of his idol Russia alongside his rival, Touma Kamijou.
  • YuYu Hakusho: Delinquents Russell Tringum and Garland are conscripted by Ren Mihashi to kick some demon ass. Dr. Stein and Tien Shinhan later join them. Freeza trains most of them. Halfway through the series, America invites Russell and company to fight his own team, which is led by Cell and includes Yoshimori and Kamina. After that's all said and done, Russell has to fight his predecessor, Donquixote Doflamingo. Finally, Russell learns that his father is Vegeta.
