- In the trailer for Back to the Future, Doc and Marty are referred to as "Rick and Morty".
- In the trailer for Mulan, the Narrator says that you have the film to thank for Rick and Morty's worst fans, referring to the Szechuan sauce (from a McDonald's tie-in) that Rick is obsessed with.

- The Couch Gag for "Mathlete's Feat" has Rick and Morty crashing into the Simpsons' house and destroying them, leading Rick to send Morty on a mission to create clones of them.
- In "Krusty the Clown", the head of a TV review site reveals to Homer that all television is fake and shows him thousands of screens showing the names of nonexistent shows, including Rick and Morty.
