Anime & Manga
- The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You:
- In Chapter 34, Kusuri tries to use three baseball bats at once, holding one in her mouth, like Zoro. She can be seen performing Zoro's "Oni Giri" in the next panel.
- In Chapter 58, when the "family" is showing off their "freedom outfits" (i.e. the outfits they'd wear if society didn't disapprove), Rentarou dresses as Luffy.
- Chapter 65 has Kurumi parody Robin's "I want to live" cry twice.
- In Chapter 71, Chiyo suggests her delinquent classmates buy manga rather than cigarettes. They retort that there're so many volumes of One Piece out they wouldn't even get through the "East Blue" arc on their allowance.
- In Chapter 73, Momiji mentions that Rentarou has bulked his forearms up to pre-timeskip Franky proportions.
- In Chapter 82, Kusuri tries to perform Zoro's "Oni Giri" using kendo swords.
- Assassination Classroom:
- In Episode 21, Koro-sensei launches himself into the air using two flag poles, stretching two of his arms out wide to do so. As he does, Koro-sensei shouts "Gum-Gum Slingshot!"
- In Chapter 162, one of the photographs is of Fuwa making Luffy's Gear Second pose, with smoke from a mosquito coil standing in for the steam, complete with a straw hat tied around her neck.
- In Episode 2 of Season 2 of the anime, the mode select screen of the game One Piece: Super Grand Battle X can be seen on Karma's 3DS.
- In The Dangers in My Heart, Moeko lists "One Pi~", along with other well-known series, to show off her transparent knowledge of manga in Chapter 25/Episode 5.
- In Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', Krillin's ringtone is an instrumental version of "We Are!", the first opening for the anime. Funnily enough, Krillin also happens to share his Japanese VA, Mayumi Tanaka, with Luffy and his English VA, Sonny Strait, with Usopp.
- Fairy Tail: The start of the Eclipse Spirit filler arc featured a figure from behind that looks suspiciously like Luffy looking at the sun. The dub helped with this by having Colleen Clinkenbeard, the voice of Luffy in the Funimation English dub, do the moaning sound for the character. note
- Episode 7 of Genshiken: Second Season features Kuchiki cosplaying as Mr. 2 Bon Kurei alongside Sue as Princess of the Crystal from Penguindrum and Ohno as Bayonetta.
- Gintama has made countless references to fellow Shonen Jump manga over the years, and One Piece is no exception. Specific examples include:
- In Episode 50, one of the improvements to the show that Otae suggests is a hybrid of Dragon Ball, Bleach and One Piece, dubbed DragonBleaPiece.
- In episode 114, when eating the Hijikata Special, Kuriko says something along the lines of "I have found the One Piece of flavors!"
- In episode 329, the Narrator refers to Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura meeting up after finishing their Hunter Hero Chunin Exam at Jabondy Archipelago.
- Good Luck Girl! makes its fair share of references to One Piece:
- Momiji's return in chapter 32 is a re-enactment of how Coby met Luffy.
- Momiji and Kumagai cosplay as Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4 in the anime's 8th episode.
- Episode 9/chapter 5: Momiji uses a move called "Gum-Gum Receive" during a tennis game (the dub calls it "Gum-Gum Stretchy Arm"). Bonus points in the anime for Momiji instantly sporting Luffy's post-Timeskip look and scars. In the English Dub, this serves as an Actor Allusion since Momiji's voice actress, Colleen Clinkenbeard, also does the voice of Luffy in the FUNimation dub of the series.
- In Chapter 34, Tanpopo has her two puppets use a "Four Sword Style" technique, one blatantly referencing Kaku of CP9.
- Inuyashiki has a scene in episode 2 where Shishigami casually asks the girl whose family he just killed what manga she reads during his first on-screen home invasion. She states that she reads Attack on Titan and One Piece, and states that her favorite One Piece character is Zoro when asked.
- In JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: JoJolion, as Yasuho is trying to escape the effects of Tsurugi's Paper Moon King, she stumbles into a car holding toy decorations of Luffy and Chopper.
- Chapter 19 of Kuroko's Basketball Replace Plus has Hyuga work in a figurine shop, and several of them are of One Piece characters, namely Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Chopper, Sabo, Lucci, Hancock and Tashigi in a swimsuit.
Asian Animation
- In Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Joys of Seasons episode 42, the goat boys work for a trio of pirates, one of which wears a familiar red vest and straw hat. His name isn't very subtle either; in the Chinese original, his name is Mr. Lǎofēi, while the English version changes it to Mr. Ruffy. There is also another member of the trio who is a boar dressed like pre-timeskip Zoro.
Comic Books
- An issue of Aquaman: The Becoming has side characters resembling Robin, Nami and Usopp. There is also a place called "Franky House". You can see them here.
- Issue 13 of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (IDW) features ponified versions of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji respectively as extras.
- The "All For One" variant cover for Issue 93 of Sonic Universe is directly based on the cover for Volume 61, which itself was based on the cover for the very first volume.
- Page 39 of Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour has a painting depicting a pirate ship that looks very similar to the Going Merry, minus the sheep figurehead.
- The frontispiece of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol 2, issue 61 ("Sometimes they come back") shows Leonardo reading◊ a One Piece manga, complete with Luffy and Chopper's faces on the cover.
Fan Works
- In Chapter 10 of Don't Cry For Me, I've Already Wilted, Sora Harewataru reads an issue of One Piece at the library.
- When Socrates meets his evil counterpart in The Pez Dispenser and the Reign of Terror, he mentions three characters known for sporting Wolverine Claws, one of them being Captain Kuro.Socrates: "Freddy Krueger, Wolverine, or Captain Kuro... who inspired you?"
Video Games
- The World of Warcraft item, "Akainu's Absolute Justice", references Sakazuki (also known as Akainu) in both its name and flavor text.
- It is possible in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to encounter a pirate hunter ship named Thriller Bark.
- From July 22-29, 2019 as part of an event to support the reconstruction of Kumamoto Prefecture (Oda's home town) in Japan, Pokémon GO players could receive a special Pikachu variant sporting Luffy's iconic straw hat, with a matching straw hat available for the Player Character in the game's shop.
- During the fourth chapter of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, Monotaro quotes Portgas D. Ace's final words after getting whacked on the head in an attempt to restore his memory.
- Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice: Almaz' Spinning Swordance attack is modeled after Zoro's Three Thousand Worlds technique.
- Luffy is referenced in Fate/hollow ataraxia. In the scene where Shirou gets Amusing Injuries after being used as the rope in a non-romantic Lover Tug of War between Neko and Taiga (long story), the latter says:Taiga: Huh? Shirou, why are you arms stretching? Rubber? Did you eat some strange fruit?
Web Video
- "Soul King" Brook appears in the Hercules episode of Destripando La Historia, among countless other cameos from characters from other media throughout.
- Similarly,their episode on Pinocchio features Usopp as Gepetto. Luffy could also be seen at the end when Pinocchio saves Geppeto.
Western Animation
- In the Teen Titans Go! episode "BL4Z3", where the titans become hackers to stop a gang of computer pirates, Robin's pirate outfit is very similar to Luffy's, complete with the scar below his left eye and the X-shaped scar on his torso, albeit with a different color palette (a teal vest and red shorts as opposed to a red vest and blue shorts) and a bandanna instead of a straw hat.
- At the end of The Simpsons episode "Treehouse of Horror XXV", the family comes across various alternate versions of themselves. One of the alternate Simpsons families is modeled after various anime/manga series, with the anime version of Homer being dressed in Zoro's post-timeskip outfit.
- In Craig of the Creek:
- In "Summer Wish", the toy ship J.P. takes out from the cereal box at the end is a shout out to the Going Merry with its design, namely its sheep figurehead, and straw hat-wearing jolly roger.
- A fictional manga titled Two Piece is shown, with the cover depicting a girl highly resembling the titular character of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water while she holds a giant shark, and the girl's name is Floofy. Other characters included is a shark named "Laboon" and another lifeguard named "Bruno".
- Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (2023):
- In the episode “Like Mother, Like Moon Girl”, there is a shot of a food truck chef with a strong resemblance to Sanji.
- The merry-go-round the Beyonder forces Lunella to go on in the episode "Coney Island, Baby!" is called "Going Merrily", complete with the Merry's figurehead as a logo.
