Live-Action TV

  • In the Angel episode "Power Play", Spike offers Illyria and Drogyn to play Crash Bandicoot on his console.
Drogyn: It is a test, a task of some sort. You must collect those crystals. And the fruit.

Video Games

  • Jak II: Renegade: During the Tomb of Mar, Daxter winds up having to flee from a giant orb in a run-towards-the-camera angle like in the Crash Bandicoot games. It gets a bit of a twist when the orb breaks, revealing a Giant Spider.
  • Kingdom Hearts II: The Hunny Slider mini-game in the 100 Acre Wood is a homage to the franchise, right up to a segment where Sora and Pooh have to escape snowballs reminiscent of the bolder chases. Like in Jak II, there's a twist in that one of the snowballs caught up.
  • The Last of Us Part II: When Ellie and Diane search through Eugene's stash, one of the videotapes they find is labelled "Smash Brandi's Cootch".

Webcomics

  • Homestuck: Crash Bandicoot is used as a metaphor by Karkat to explain the idea of multiple universes to John, despite the alien having no context of what the videogame is and making several mistakes while describing what he assumes the gameplay is.
Karkat: SO LET'S SAY YOU PLAY YOUR BANDICOOT AND I PLAY MY BANDICOOT. THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME BANDICOOT, SAME APPEARANCE AND DESIGN AND BEHAVIORS. BUT THEY ARE STILL COMPLETELY SEPARATE BANDICOOTS ON SEPARATE SCREENS. SO WE BOTH HAVE OUR OWN ASS BANDICOOTS TO OURSELVES, THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT.

Western Animation

  • Family Guy: In a scene on the "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" DVD, Tom Tucker is doing something behind his desk that turns out to just be playing what is presumably the Game Boy Advance version of Crash Nitro Kart, as he declares "Eat my dust, Crash Bandicoot."
  • MAD:
    • Crash appears in "Franklin and Crash", where he replaces Bash as Franklin's business partner. Franklin and Crash act as the lawyers for The Prince of All Cosmos, who is charged with rolling up their possessions to make his katamari. To Crash's horror, the prosecutor is Sonic the Hedgehog, who accuses Crash of trying to copy him.
Sonic: Well, hello, Crash. Having fun running through levels, spinning through boxes? I love your sneakers and gloves.
      Crash: I added shorts.
    • Crash appears in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid Icarus" as one of the students at Video Game School.
  • The Simpsons: In the episode Lisa Gets An 'A', Bart is revealed to have a copy of a Crash Bandicoot spoof called "Dash Dingo". Lisa gets addicted to it while recovering from a cold.
