Not wanting Jaden to participate in the school duel against North Academy, Crowler recruits a peculiar Obelisk blue student with special powers.
- Animals Hate Him: The episode begins with Crowler getting attacked by chickens while he's on the way to Belowski's habitat, since the facility containing said habitat is beneath their hen house.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Jaden is stressing over what cards to keep and exchange for his deck for the upcoming school duel, Bastion, Alexis, Syrus, and Chumley all bother him by offering him to use some of their cards. Jaden eventually snaps saying he needs to be alone to build his deck and runs off, with the others following him saying they "want to help him be alone" and "you can't be alone all by yourself".
- Discard and Draw: Belowski's strategy. He summons weak fairies, activates his Mokey Mokey Smackdown spell card to increase his Mokey Mokey monsters' attack to 3000 whenever another fairy is destroyed, replenishes his monster supply with Human Wave Tactics and uses life point restoring cards.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Jaden uses a combination of Bubbleman, Bubble Illusion, and Mirror Gate to take control of one of Belowski's Mokey Mokey monsters and finish Belowski off with it.
- Insistent Terminology: Crowler says that Belowski's underground holographic chamber isn't a "jail", finding that too much of an ugly word, preferring "mandatory restraint habitat". He insists that it was lovely inside for Bowlowski though, like an island parade, and Bowloski agreed that he liked the arrangement.
- Lethal Joke Character: Belowski's fairies look very unassuming, but make no mistake, he weaponizes them decently.
- Nice Guy: Belowski is quite a chill guy, not caring about the academy's dorm rankings and complimenting Jaden's duel tactics for the most part.
- No-Sell: Belowski's powers don't work on Jaden thanks to his love for dueling.
- Not So Above It All: Bastion and Alexis say some things you normally wouldn't expect when they're affected Belowski's powers.Bastion: Hey, Jaden. You gotta chill out, man.
Alexis: You're surrounded by this negative energy, dude.
