As Yuya and Yuto attempted to save Ruri, Serena shows up. As according to the Doktor’s plan, the Parasite Fusioners drove Yuya and Yuto into a corner. Then, something ominous happens to Yuya.
As Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon appear on the Field, Yuya sports a demonic expression on his face. While emitting a black aura, Yuya begins a ruthless assault against Ruri and Serena.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Battle Aura: Yuya's appears, but with the twist that it forms first a silhouette of Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon and then for a brief moment, what is presumably Zarc's face. Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon meanwhile gets one made of flames.
- Call-Back:
- Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon's summon chant begins the same way as Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon's: "Dragon of dual-colored eyes!"
- When Serena protests that Yuya can't beat them both and that whichever of the girls survives can do something next turn, Yuya's response is exactly the same as Kaito's way back at the start of the Xyz arc, and the same as Yugi's response to a similar comment from the Marik-controlled Strings all the way back in the Battle City arc: "There won't be a next turn!"
- The Dreaded: You know it is bad when the Parasite Fusioners are backing away from an Awakened Yuya.
- Evil Gloating: The Doktor decides to taunt Yuya by showing him a infected Yuzu and stroking her face while mocking him. It ends about as well as you'd expect.
- Foil:
- Both Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon and Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend are this to each other. Specifically, both of them have the same nuking effect but the difference between them is while Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend is a Synchro Monster that can gain 500 ATK by negating a card effect during the controller's Battle Phase, Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon is an Xyz Pendulum Monster that can gain 200 ATK for each card destroyed by its nuking effect and can attack twice in the same Battle Phase.
- Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon and Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon. They are both Xyz Pendulum monsters with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, both of their effects work if an Xyz monster was used to summon them and they both can attack multiple times in 1 turn. But while Rebellion resembles Dark Rebellion more and destroys monsters and deals effect damage, Raging resembles Odd-Eyes more and completely nukes the field and gains power from it.
- Foreshadowing: The Parasite Fusioners backing away from Yuya in fear foreshadows Leo's reveal next episode that the monsters have souls.
- Hot Wings: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon's wings shoot out fire.
- I Have You Now, My Pretty: The Doktor does this when he presented Yuzu to Yuya and Yuto while mocking their inability to save her. It doesn't end well for two of his People Puppets, however.
- Made of Iron: Ruri and Serena emerge from an attack which blows a hole in the side of the building remarkably unscathed.
- Meaningful Name: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon.
- No-Sell: The Doktor tried to control Yuya when one of his parasite entered his brain. While it worked for a second, it was killed by the darkness.
- Oh, Crap!: The Episode.
- First from the Doktor, when the Parasite Fusioner in Yuya's brain is burned by the Darkness, preventing him from being mind controlled.
- Next from how the hologram Parasite Fusioners cower in fear of Yuya as he begins his last turn, with the girls not fully aware of exactly why the holograms fear a real person.
- Then the girls get one when their defensive cards are negated by Raging Dragon's effect, and then destroyed alongside all of their Parasite cards.
- Finally, when shit truly hits the fan:
Serena: (after seeing that Yuya's dragon has more than enough ATK to eliminate either one of them) "It won't matter. On our next turn the survivor will be able to..."Yuya: "There won't BE a next turn! Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon can attack twice per turn, meaning I can finish off both of you right here, right now!"- The dub makes these lines even more threatening, with Yuya even declaring that it's over before he even attacks:
Dub!Selina: No, it's not over yet. You can only attack and defeat one of us, so the other still has a chance next turn...Dub!Yuya: THERE IS NO NEXT TURN! Because Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon can attack twice this turn. (cue One-Hit Polykill) - One-Hit Polykill: Yuya takes down Ruri and Serena in one turn.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
- If Yuri is truly smiling, you know something is going down.
- Normally the monsters don't react to anything, being holograms. When the Parasite Fusioners start backing away from Yuya in what is clearly fear, something is very, very wrong.
- Yuya himself gives the biggest: while Berserk Mode has always been this, when the peace-preaching Yuya gestures like he's crushing something in his fist while ordering Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon to obliterate everything else on the field, he's obviously much further into Berserk state than ever.
- Person of Mass Destruction: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon. Not just in terms of its effect (which destroys all other cards on the field), but its burning wings begin to melt the floor and its final attack blows a hole through the side of the building. The Dub even replaces the above line with a line to this effect:Awakened!Yuya: It's all because of me, they realize they're in danger. A lot of danger!
- Playing with Fire: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon.
- Ship Tease: Yuya seeing the Doktor run his finger on Yuzu's face enrages him enough to enter berserk mode and considering his actions in said state, it's arguably further in the state than he was before.
- Technicolor Fire: To show Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon's power, it's shown to also have blue flames along with the normal red.
- Unstoppable Rage: Seeing the Doktor stroke the infected Yuzu's face sends Yuya right into a berserk state and presumably allows him to create Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon. He's very clearly shaking with anger the whole time.
- Volcanic Veins: Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon has them.
- Wham Episode: Remember Edo mentioning to Yugo about freeing the Bracelet Girls from the Parasite Fusioners' influence by defeating the Doktor is the only solution? There Is Another: Yuya's Superpowered Evil Side, which is actually a piece of Zarc, can kill the Parasite Fusioners.
- Wham Shot:
- Yuya's Battle Aura turns out to be the demonic silhouette of Zarc.
- We see an awakened Yuto with Yuya's awakened eyes.
