Go To

Tea is saved from the Hitotsu-Me Giants by a penguin, who brings her to a virtual Antarctica where she is greeted by none other than Crump, the second member and accountant of the Big Five. Having taken the form of the monster Nightmare Penguin, Crump challenges Tea to a duel, and if she loses, her mind will be frozen in a block of ice forever! As the relatively inexperienced Tea struggles to keep up, even with the support of her Deck Master, Dark Magician Girl, she gradually freezes and things look bad. Meanwhile, Yugi wanders through a virtual maze searching for his friends, but must figure out Noah's pattern of traps in order to make it out.

Tropes

  • Dirty Old Man: In the Japanese original, Crump states he would prefer the body of a teenage girl to suit his perverted desires. Though the dub is toning this down there are shades still present and Crump is at least in his 40s.
  • Feathered Fiend: Crump takes the form of a penguin.
  • Freudian Excuse: Crump explains that he was neglected as a child and admired penguins for the bond they shared with their children. When Kaiba turned down his dream of a penguin themed amusement park, he turned to villainy.
  • Gender Bender: Crump, a male, wants to take the female Tea's body.
  • Insult Backfire: More like taunting backfire; when Tea manages to deal some damage to Crump's life points and his feet freeze, she asks how he likes being encased in ice. As Crump reminds her, however, he's a penguin so he's fine with it.
  • Kill It with Ice: The players' bodies are covered in ice as they lose life points.
  • Light 'em Up: The majority of the cards Tea picks are Light or Fire attribute.
  • Sadist: Crump plans to leave Tea trapped in ice forever while he steals her body. Being trapped in ice is worse than being left wandering virtual space.
  • Smug Snake: Crump claims his chances of victory are 99% and Tea has a 1% chance of winning.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Crump is happy to have Tea as an opponent because of her little experience.
