Although Yugi has managed to neutralize Dark Sanctuary, Yami Bakura summons Jowgen the Spiritualist and uses its special ability to destroy Dark Necrofear again, reactivating the field spell. Yugi is backed into a corner, still unable to attack more than once per turn thanks to The Dark Door and guaranteed to have any attack fail since Dark Spirit of the Silent will force him to attack with whatever monster is possessed by the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary; and passing on his attack won't do any good because Yami Bakura only needs to add one more letter to the Destiny Board to win automatically. Just when all hope is lost, however, Yugi trusts in his deck and draws none other than his Egyptian God Card, Slifer the Sky Dragon. Sacrificing his three monsters, he summons it to the field and, too powerful for the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary to possess, is about to attack when Odion enters the arena still posing as Marik. He takes out a fake Millennium Rod to fool everyone while Yami Bakura intentionally releases the real Bakura. Bakura is still badly injured and has no idea how it happened or how he got to the dueling arena. Yugi does not want to attack for fear of hurting his friend even worse, but cannot throw the duel or his chance to save the world will be gone. After mulling things over with Marik for a minute, Yami Bakura decides that the gambit they're pulling is too risky since he needs Bakura to survive, and he regains control. Yugi finally attacks and wins the duel while Bakura is rendered unconscious but otherwise fine. In Bakura's room, the gang reflect on events so far but realize that the Millennium Ring has disappeared. As they all leave Bakura to rest, Tea stays behind for a little bit. The episode ends with the revelation that Marik has taken possession of the Millennium Ring for the time being, and is maintaining occasional control over Tea's mind to hang onto it for safekeeping.

- Big Entrance: When Slifer the Sky Dragon enters the arena, lightning flashes everywhere and blows away Dark Sanctuary, awesome music plays (complete with Ominous Latin Chanting in the 4Kids dub), and Slifer wraps itself around the entire blimp several times before leaning forward and roaring in Bakura's face. Yugi's friends are scared stiff and Serenity is so terrified she's visibly shaking.Serenity: What's...that?

Joey: Da hugest Duel Monstah I've evah seen! - Darkest Hour: Dark Sanctuary is back, meaning the Ghost of Dark Sanctuary is once again possessing Yugi's monsters. He still can't attack more than once per turn thanks to The Dark Door and Yami Bakura is ready to spring Dark Spirit of the Silent to make sure Yugi attacks with the possessed monster. On top of that, skipping his attack won't do Yugi any good because Yami Bakura only needs one more letter on the Destiny Board to win the duel. He's only got one turn left and things seem hopeless...that is until he draws Slifer the Sky Dragon.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: The Evil Spirit of the Millennium Ring steps back in to protect Bakura but only because he needs Bakura's body in order to survive.
- This Cannot Be!: Evil Bakura is damn near pissing his pants when Slifer hits the field."That is the card Marik desires, but how can I defeat this all-powerful beast? I was so close!"
