Jimmy startles Gretchen awake, announcing that he has written fifty-six pages of his novel, so as to disprove Gretchen's concerns about his inability to succeed. She's glad to see it and asks Jimmy if he's willing to take back what he said about her back at Shitstain's wedding. He refuses, stating that his worries about her having children are based on the fact that she has dropped every cellphone she has had. Gretchen is angered by this and the argument escalates.
Meanwhile, Edgar isn't happy with Dorothy's passive-aggressive lack of support for his new job offer as a writer for Doug Benson, which isn't helped when Dorothy makes an insensitive remark about him only being hired for being Latino. Edgar accuses Dorothy of only liking him when he's struggling and unsuccessful, causing her to tearfully admit that she's jealous of how far he's gotten in such a short amount of time while she's been working in comedy for years struggling to get a break and has nothing to show for it. Edgar tries to reassure her that she's just having a rough patch, but Dorothy isn't convinced she can "bounce back", much less succeed, especially at her age.
Paul then arrives and starts arguing with Lindsay. Jimmy sends them to his room so he can argue with Gretchen. Paul is enraged that Lindsay got an abortion and has a hard emotional meltdown as he calls her out on being a horrible wife. Lindsay sadly but simply retorts that he knew what kind of person she was from the start and shouldn't be shocked at what he had gotten.
Tensions mount with the three couples until they all get a text announcing the birth of Vernon and Becca's daughter, Tallulah.
Gradually things calm down, but little is resolved. Edgar gets a call to join Doug's writers' meeting, but decides to lie to Dorothy about it. Lindsay and Paul come to realize that they were completely incompatible with each other and made a mistake in marrying one another. When she asks Paul if he'll disregard their prenup, Paul venomously tells her she'd better "lawyer up". Meanwhile, Jimmy reads his unfinished novel to Gretchen, who loves it, but both realize they haven't fixed their relationship. He collapses against her from lack of sleep. She picks up her phone to check something, but drops it.

- Easily Forgiven: Paul averts this with extreme prejudice - he acknowledges that he let his shallow attraction to Lindsay and his desire for a family blind him to the numerous signs that they were completely wrong for each other but he's not going to let her off the hook for marrying him simply for his money, stabbing him and cheating on him.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Dorothy is jealous of Edgar for managing to get a great comedy job with Doug Benson while she's been struggling to get decent work as an actress for years and has nothing to show for it.
