Recap / Xiaolin Showdown The Return Of Master Monk Guan

Go To

With Hannibal having control over the Treasure of the Blind Swordsman and proving too much for the monks' normal efforts to handle, Master Fung decides to send them (and Dojo)note  away to Master Monk Guan's temple for more proper training and to regain the treasure chest.

Tropes:

  • The Bus Came Back: Master Monk Guan returns after being seen in Season 2.
  • Continuity Nod: When Raimundo is caught stealing form the Shen Gong Wu vault, Omi says he's going the dark side again, referencing the end of season 1 and beginning of season 2 when Raimundo restored Wuya to physical form.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Even possibly holding back, Raimundo pretty effortlessly defeats Omi and rather brutally beats him up thanks to the Fancy Feet's super speed.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Subverted. It's mostly an act Master Monk Guan performs.
  • Once an Episode: The "Xiaolin Sparring" Showdown between Omi and Raimundo for the bag of stolen Wu, Omi's Gills of Hamachi versus Rai's Fancy Feet. Later changed mid-showdown by Guan into a Shen Yi Bu All-In, wagering the temple's Wu against those stolen and the Treasure of The Blind Swordman. Omi wins after Rai takes a "Xiaolin Showdown Dive" as part of his and Guan's SECRET ELABORATE PLAN to reclaim the treasure chest.
  • Stealth Pun: Rai's pretend barb of "Guano Man" directed at Guan doubles as this when you remember just what the monks ended up covered in during their initial bout with Hannibal and the treasure chest.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Enforced. Raimundo gets quite violent with Omi and Clay when he's caught stealing the Shen Gong Wu for Hannibal Bean. When its Kimiko's turn, Guan steps in before Raimundo can lay a finger on her.
