- It's Personal: When the Nightmare Gargoyle started preying on the Winx, it was easy to brush off the nightmares as a result of the horror movie they recently watched. But when Musa has a nightmare (about her mom's passing) that hits too close to home, Bloom starts to suspect something more is going on than a few bad dreams induced by a scary movie.
- "What Do They Fear?" Episode: The Nightmare Gargoyle has the ability to drain magic by giving its victims nightmares, specifically about something they fear. Stella is about how her parents divorced, and the insecurities that were born from it. Techa's dream makes no sense, rocking her sense of logic. Musa relives losing her mother. And even when she's awake, the Gargoyle invokes Bloom's worries about learning she was adopted, and her conflict with her familial bond.
