- Faux Affably Evil: Kyle. He’s soft-spoken, polite and friendly, even when leaving Nom Nom dangling on a branch to fall to his death.
- Get Out!: After learning Kyle's ruse, Nom Nom quietly but angrily tells him to get out.
- Laser-Guided Karma: After defrauding Nom Nom and leaving him to die, Kyle walks out the front door... and into a pair of cops who are looking for him.
- Not What It Looks Like: When Nom Nom learns Kyle is wearing fake eyebrows, Kyle tries to tell him "This isn't what it looks like!" After Nom Nom spells out Kyle's plot, Kyle admits "Okay, it's exactly what it looks like."
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: We're quite aware of how Nom Nom acts during one of his rage episodes, but when he finds out that Kyle isn't his brother and is scamming him of half of his money, Nom Nom instead calmly but angrily tells him to get out.
- Pet the Dog: After treating him like dirt and then firing him when he accuses him of poisoning Kyle, Nom Nom opts to call his bodyguard by his real name after Kyle is revealed to be a fraud and saves him.
- Shout-Out: Nom Nom cries when Kyle knocks him out of the tree during their fight, exactly like the koala from this viral video
. - Took a Level in Kindness: Nom Nom’s usually closed off and sour attitude changes after finding his long lost brother. He becomes much happier, even stating that he feels like a whole new Nom Nom (though he fires his bodyguard accusing him of trying to poison Kyle). After the reveal that Kyle is actually a fraud, he falls back to his usual self, but softens up a little towards his bodyguard. He at the very least starts calling the guy by his actual name.
- Undying Loyalty: Despite being fired earlier, Nom Nom's bodyguard returns to save him from falling to his death and confesses having never left.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: The bodyguard who rescues Nom Nom reveals his name to be Farmer. Nom Nom lampshades how weird a name it is.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Nom Nom is genuinely happy that he's found a long lost family member...until it turns out that Kyle isn't actually his brother at all and was just trying to steal his fortune. He may be a jerk, but it's hard not to feel sorry for him.
