Tropes

  • The Anti-Grinch: Sandy loves Christmas to an alarming degree, disturbing Charlie, Alan, and Jake with her dedication and devotion to it. Turns out it's born of a bizarre belief that Santa will reveal himself to her if she can make Christmas perfect.
  • Crazy in the Head, Crazy in the Bed: Sandy has a childlike obsession with Christmas, to the point she seems to still believe in Santa Claus. Charlie tells Alan that the sex will be great, though he warns him to choose positions where he can see her hands.
  • The Fat Episode: Alan and Charlie both put on a lot of weight during this episode thanks to Sandy's cooking.
  • House Wife: Sandy takes up this role at Charlie's house after moving in. Charlie sees it coming and tries to nip it in the bud, but Sandy is such a good cook he quickly gives in.
  • Manchild: Sandy is a rare female example. She still believes in Santa Claus, and has been trying her entire life to put together the perfect Christmas, believing that Santa will show himself to her if she manages to pull it off. After he doesn't show himself to her for this Christmas, she gives up, believing him impossible to please. Despite this bizarre childish belief, she's actually completely functional in every other aspect of her life, being an excellent cook and phenomenal around the house.
  • Still Believes in Santa: Sandy. She also believes that Santa will reveal himself to her if she pulls off the perfect Christmas. When he doesn't show up on Christmas Eve, she gives up, although not because she no longer believes in him, but rather because she becomes resentful over what she views as him being too hard to please.
  • Too Good to Be True: While she is a little flighty and is overstepping a bit, Sandy is a fantastic presence in Charlie's house. She's an amazing cook and is all too happy to handle all the chores around the house. The other shoe drops later in the episode, when she's revealed to be mentally unstable, believing that Santa Claus is real and is obsessed with meeting him.
