Day 1 - A World without Names

  • The game begins and the female trainer is chosen. Her name is EWWYPPP and her starter is Totodile. Totodile lacks a nickname.
  • A Youngster is battled, and it's discovered that only important trainers have their names given, similar to Gen I games. Also, trainer battles outside of Rival Battle 1 prior to gaining access to Poké Balls. Yep, definitely a difficulty hack.
  • The rival is encountered and defeated. Upon returning to New Bark Town, his name is given as "JRJII..". (The quotes are not part of the name; they're just there to make it clearer that his name ends with two periods/full stops.)
  • A female Sentret is caught and named HHHIIIIHGH.
  • A female Geodude is captured, holding an Everstone. She is named XXYYY WWP.
  • A male Weedle is caught, followed by a male Pidgey; neither is nicknamed. This is followed by a second Geodude, this one male, which is named !!.
  • Totodile reaches level 18, but doesn't even attempt to evolve. Yeah, difficulty hack. Evolution levels have increased.
  • Totodile reaches level 20 and starts to gain 0 EXP whenever it would gain EXP. As this reveals, the levels themselves are capped and only gaining badges raises the cap.
  • A Gastly is captured in Sprout Tower. After a couple of blackouts, Sprout Tower is conquered.
  • The inability to leave a Gym whose leader has not been defeated by any way other than black out proves quite detrimental, as Totodile alone is standing and he's already capped. He manages to defeat the next trainer, wasting the EXP. Totodile then sweeps through Falkner's Pidgey, Farfetch'd, Natu, Pidgeotto, and Spearow, but falls to his Murkrow thanks to Pidgeotto's Quick Attack weakening it.
  • After an hour of grinding, Falkner is challenged again. His Pidgey takes out half the team before being defeated by XY. Farfetch'd comes in and defeats her, and Totodile beats it, but gets stuck on Leer against Natu and is lain low by Night Shade. !! loses, too.
  • Ball spam kills run 3, but !! gets a level up from defeating Falkner's Pidgey.
  • On run 4, !! is able to take out two Pokémon now that he knows Rock Throw, but falls to Pidgeotto, which also takes out Totodile. XY finishes it off and learns Rock Throw as well, gaining three levels at once, but still can't handle Murkrow.
  • Both Geodudes take out a Pokémon on attempt 5, as does Pidgey, but Murkrow is still undefeated, ending another run.
  • High the Sentret greatly weakens Falkner's leadoff Pidgey before falling, and EWWYPPP's own Pidgey comes in to finish it off, drawing Murkrow out immediately! It takes out Pidgey, !!, and Weedle, but falls to Totodile. However, with Natu's Night Shades weakening it, Totodile falls to Pidgeotto, who then finishes off the attempt. Falkner has joined the Wattson Rankings, joining Roxanne in Emerald and Brock in Anniversary Red as the only first Gym leaders to reach this threshold. Given how difficult those two runs ended up being, this should probably be terrifying, but the cutoff for the rankings is kind of arbitrary, so...
  • ...yeah, no problem. Falkner defeated on attempt #7! Sentret and both Geodude went down, but Pidgey and Weedle were never sent in.
  • On the subject of "terrifying", it's now time to obtain the Mystery Egg, which means a deposit. Weedle is deposited, then released, along with the boxed Gastly.
  • Totodile reaches level 26 and evolves to Croconaw!
  • The updater bot reports that a Gastly has been caught, even though one hasn't. A few minutes later, it reports that the Gastly is no longer present and may have been released—which is true, as the nickname matches the one that was released right after the gym battle.
  • Upon reaching Azalea Town, the egg hatches into a Togepi, which is named YXXWVVVN, sometimes called "Yaks Woven". The updater bot views this as catching a Togepi and releasing the Egg.
  • Croconaw reaches level 30 in the Slowpoke Well and stops gaining EXP again. Shortly afterwards, Team Rocket is driven away.
  • An input war begins between those who want to head west to Ilex Forest and the Rival battle and those who want to head to the Azalea Gym. The former group seems to have the early advantage, but can't get all the way to the gatehouse or the last square before it and the rival battle doesn't trigger. EWWYPPP is steered towards the Gym...and it turns out that it didn't trigger because it's been moved to just outside the Gym door. He only has 4 Pokémon, but among them is a Gastly, the bane of TPP ever since Red, and it knows Hypnosis. Another is an Abra with Hidden Power Ice, as determined by the fact that it hits both Geodude and Pidgey for super-effective damage.
  • Due to an error in the updater bot's coding, it believes that the wild Caterpie in Ilex Forest are legendary Pokémon and is counting attempts against them. Its creator reveals that the same would've happened to any Pokémon with a lower Pokédex number than Caterpie's, including #000.

Day 2 - The Twin Terrors of Azalea Town

  • The day begins with 4 losses to JRJII...
  • High learns Slam over Quick Attack upon reaching Level 18.
  • The HM for Cut is obtained, but cannot be used outside of battle yet.
  • With JRJII.. still unbeaten after 9 attempts, !! reaches Level 23 and replaces Defense Curl with Selfdestruct.
  • Croconaw is alone and barely standing when EWWYPPP attempts the battle for the 11th time, but the 12th is successful.
  • Only High is knocked out as attempt 1 against Bugsy begins. Croconaw takes out Butterfree and Beedrill, but falls to Scyther; XY cleans up and reaches Level 20, but the next Pokémon knocks both her and Pidgey out.
  • Yaks Woven levels up on the Butterfree in Attempt 2 after High loses, but Shuckle takes out everything except XY.
  • Croconaw is sent out immediately after High in the third battle and rolls Butterfree, Beedrill, Scyther, and Pinsir, but Shuckle still rolls everything.
  • !! knocks out Butterfree with Selfdestruct on the 4th attempt, and again, Croconaw tries to solo but can't. EWWYPPP leaves to grind.
  • Pidgey learns Wing Attack at level 17, replacing Quick Attack.
  • Shuckle is taken out early in attempt 5, but it's still no good. A bug in the updater bot is revealed as it registers a victory and immediate healing rather than the KO of our final Pokémon.
  • The bug manifests again on the next two failures.
  • On attempt #9, XY takes out Scyther and reaches Level 23, learning Selfdestruct over Magnitude.
  • Pidgey loses Wing Attack during grinding, getting Whirlwind instead.
  • On attempt 10, Pidgey finishes off Butterfree before falling to Shuckle's Rollout, but it misses against Croconaw and gets taken out by Water Gun. Croconaw takes out Beedrill and Scyther as well before getting knocked out by Pinsir's Seismic Toss. XY finishes the Pinsir with Rock Throw before falling to Heracross, but !! responds with a Selfdestruct and takes it out. Since Yaks Woven was never sent out, the double KO gives EWWYPPP the victory! Together, JRJII.. and Bugsy had nearly a full Wattson.
  • Now able to gain levels again, Croconaw loses Rage in favor of Scary Face at level 31.
  • Shortly before reaching Goldenrod City for the first time, Pidgey reaches Level 27 and evolves into Pidgeotto.
  • High reaches level 28 and evolves to Furret.
  • Whitney is challenged for the first time.
  • While grinding for a second attempt, Croconaw hits the level cap again, now Level 38.
  • The name rater is visited and Croconaw gains the name YZZZQQQC.

Day 3 - The Gathering of the Fellowship

  • A male Exeggcute named Z is captured, then withdrawn from the PC after sending XY to the Daycare.
  • !!, Pidgeotto, and Yaks Woven are deposited and C the Spearow is withdrawn.
  • A male Heracross named TT ZZZPPPP is captured, and the Odd Egg is acquired at the Daycare.
  • During a grinding session, TT learns Counter over Endure and Z learns Stun Spore over Hypnosis.
  • The Egg hatches into a Smoochum, who is promptly Daycared.
  • A Magnemite is purchased from the Game Corner and given the Exp. Share and TT learns Fury Cutter over Counter using the TM from Bugsy's Gym. The Magnemite is initially without a nickname, but soon becomes renamed ::::;n;;pk-. Due to the semicolons making it look like it's crying, this is known as "Sadnemite".
  • Whitney is defeated on just the third try!
  • Due to a glitch where the renamed Magnemite was seen as having been released, the updater bot reports a blackout that didn't happen, as only Sadnemite survived. For some reason, renaming Croconaw didn't trigger this.
  • A Shiny Ekans is captured and named RRRRRRRRRR.
  • A Mankey is captured, C the Spearow is deposited, and the Mankey is withdrawn. Then EWWYPPP heads to Goldenrod to trade the Mankey for a Seel.
  • Both High and Yeezy Croc learn Surf in Democracy.

Day 4 - The Not-So-Elite Floor

  • A trip to the PC leads to the Shiny Ekans and a Doduo being released while TT and Z were deposited, replaced in the party by OOOOOOPOOO (Oppo) the Exeggcute and QQQQQQQQQQ the Miltank.
  • Sadnemite reaches level 38 and tries to become Sadneton, but the evolution is canceled. About ten minutes later, High hits the 3-badge level cap of 45. Ten minutes after that, Sadnemite tries again to evolve and is successful.
  • Fully 11 hours after attempt #1 ended in failure, JRJII.. is defeated at Burned Tower on just the second attempt. He now has five Pokémon, having evolved all four of his Pokémon from the last battle to their second stages (Machoke, Haunter, Kadabra, and Bayleef) and adding an Ursaring.
  • With Miltank as the last Pokémon available to battle, a Gym Trainer is forced to start Struggling, but bad inputs keep Miltank from using its last Milk Drink and EWWYPPP can't win.
  • Following some stream maintenance, Seel gains the ability to be renamed.
  • The Elite Floor is conquered in full anarchy for the first time ever! Unfortunately Morty doesn't go down so easily.
  • Croconaw hits the level cap as well.
  • A female Magmar named J;;)))tu:: is captured, and Miltank is deposited in order to add her to the party.
  • Attempt 2 ends in failure as well, and Democracy is used to reorder the party.
  • Oppo fails to learn Stomp upon her evolution to Exeggutor at level 42.
  • Attempt #3 also fails.
  • Sadneton fails to learn Screech upon hitting the level cap of 45.

Day 5 - WAHAHAHAHA

  • Another Shiny Ekans is encountered, but not caught.
  • Oppo also hits the level cap.
  • Seel is renamed WWww y, while Magmar is renamed to a single hyphen. The former is immediately christened "Why", while the latter takes a bit longer to have its name solidified, eventually being labelled "Minus" rather than "Dash".
  • A fourth attempt at Morty fails.
  • A Tauros is captured and named FFFEEEEDDD, which won't be relevant at any point during this run, but is funny enough to be noted.
  • Why reaches level 40 and evolves to Dewgong.
  • A shiny Tauros is encountered and defeated.
  • EWWYPPP manages to wrassle up another Shiny Ekans and catches him, naming him HHH.
  • Morty is defeated on the fifth attempt, avoiding the Wattson Ranking that so many previous Ghost-type trainers have earned, but getting the rarer WAHA ranking (an alternate version of the Wattson Rankings that uses not only total attempts, but also time from start of first attempt to end of successful attempt to determine rating.) The hack forces players to go to Mahogany before Olivine/Cianwood, so that's where EWWYPPP heads.
  • The Rocket Hideout is handled with little trouble, gaining Whirlpool. The Mahogany Gym ice puzzle isn't too challenging, either, and Pryce is battled. However, Pryce won't go down, and by the end of the day, he too has joined the Wattson Rankings, with 6 wins and still unbeaten.

Day 6 - WAHAHAHAHA

  • Croconaw reaches level 48 and evolves to Feraligatr.
  • On Attempt 7, Why hits the current level cap of 54.
  • Following the 9th failure, a grinding session is invoked, and High also reaches the level cap.
  • On attempt 12, Sadneton also hits the level cap.
  • Pryce is finally defeated on the 14th attempt.
  • Not even four hours after defeating Pryce, Chuck is challenged for the first time. And not even 1.5 hours after that, Chuck is defeated...with the fifth Wattson Ranking of the run, the minimum 7 attempts to get a listing.
  • Jasmine, on the other hand, takes just five attempts.
  • JRJII.. has evolved all of his Pokémon fully, but hasn't added a sixth. He, too, takes 5 attempts.
  • Sadneton learns Zap Cannon (aka "YOLO Cannon" at Level 61, replacing Supersonic.

Day 7 - WAHAHAHAHA

  • The Rocket Executives are among those that lost their names, being identified just as "Rocket" now (as expected, since "Executive" was treated as the name in GSC), but the one that would become Archer in HeartGold/SoulSilver has a full team of 6 and takes eight attempts to defeat. Because of his namelessness, a poll is held to determine if he belongs in the "proper" rankings or in the "regular trainers" section, but the former wins out handily. Pyrite has just tied Blaze Black 2 for the run with the most trainers with Wattson Rankings.
  • In this hack, Eusine is replaced with a trainer whose obsession is with Raikou rather than Suicune, which means that it's now time for a forced encounter with that legend. EWWYPPP catches it, naming it BBBBBBBBBB. Suicune, evidently upset at losing its role, appears soon after, and can't be caught as the Box is full.
  • A trainer with a Miltank causes EWWYPPP to black out in Ice Path, reminding them that Moo Moo the Miltank hasn't been cured yet. A detour is immediately scheduled in order to remedy this situation.
  • Even with the detour, Blackthorn City is reached just 5 hours and 40 minutes after first setting foot inside the Ice Path.
  • Due to the hack giving all Gym Leaders full teams of six while there were only two fully-evolved Dragon-types in Generation II, Clair's team is functionally themeless. While she of course has the expected Dragonite and Kingdra, and also Gyarados and Charizard, she also has a Nidoqueen and a Kangaskhan. This means that there is very little overlap in weaknesses—Rock of all things is the only type that can even tag 3 of them for super-effective hits but that includes the Water/Flying Gyarados. Add to it the proliferation of coverage moves such as Earthquake and Flamethrower and the fact that the team doesn't actually include any Fighting- or Dragon-type moves (the only weaknesses for Kangaskhan and Kingdra respectively), and it's a recipe for disaster.
  • Attempt #4 actually goes really well, getting Clair down to just her Kingdra (and actually managing to freeze it, only for it to instantly thaw out), but comes up short. EWWYPPP heads back to the Ice Path to grind.
  • EWWYPPP exits out the Mahogany side of Ice Path and catches a Poliwrath and a Tangela, having already caught two Golbat, two Swinub, and a Jynx during her trek through, but blacks out back to Blackthorn to resume fighting Clair.
  • After 5 more failures, EWWYPPP heads south for more grinding. Why hits the level cap of 73 while facing a Hiker, but a Cooltrainer wipes out the party and Attempt 10 begins.
  • Two failures later, grinding on Route 45 resumes.

Day 8 - WAHAH-e Might Need to Rename the Rankings When This Is All Over

  • The day begins in the midst of attempt #13 against Clair, after which more wandering on Route 45 occurs.
  • After Attempt #18, EWWYPPP makes it all the way down to Route 46 on her grinding trip.
  • Two more attempts fail, and EWWYPPP uses the Ice Path this time. Sadneton hits the level cap, and at some point a Shiny Golbat is encountered.
  • More than 20.5 hours after first challenging Clair, Attempt #23 begins. Clair is just the second individual trainer to match Wattson's infamous mark (certain Elite Four trainers have also beaten the Mob at least as many times, including Wallace who as the Champion naturally means that it legitimately took that many tries to beat him once, but it's not a fair comparison), after Faba's 28 tries in Waning Moon became the new high-water mark. With good switches, EWWYPPP is able to take out Gyarados, Nidoqueen, and Dragonite without losing a single Pokémon, but Kangaskhan takes out over half the team and Charizard cleans up.
  • On the 26th attempt, EWWYPPP finally defeats Clair. Sadneton was the one to strike the final blow, with High the only other one standing. With 26 attempts over the course of just over 22 hours, her WAHA ranking comes in just a bit over 2/3—technically only fifth all time, but third among truly mandatory battles note  and due to the large number of objectives that opened up at the same time in Anniversary Crystal, most of the WAHA rankings from that game are considered slightly suspect.note  So arguably she's second only to Wattson himself.
  • Just for good measure, EWWYPPP blacks out one more time before she can obtain the badge.
  • Roughly 7 hours later, in Violet City, the majority of the mob decides to buy more Poké Balls, but a dissenter's "down" inputs to try to steer EWWYPPP out of the Poké Mart wind up instead moving the cursor to Potions and then to the maximum number. EWWYPPP winds up with just 7 new Poké Balls and 112 new Potions. Most of these are sold off an hour later in Goldenrod, however, and EWWYPPP finally starts heading for the Pokémon League.

Day 9 - TriHard 2: Try Harder

  • After healing in the healing house, Victory Road is entered. As expected, it has trainers besides the Rival this time. After a blackout, the same thing happens again in the Cherrygrove Poké Mart; EWWYPPP gets just three new Poké Balls and 27 more Potions.
  • After blacking out to the Rival on the first attempt, Democracy is invoked to optimize the team. High learns Return, replacing Headbutt, but this was evidently a mistake as the next move is to head to Goldenrod to buy a Headbutt TM. En route, Entei is encountered.
  • Also in Goldenrod, 44 Poké Balls are bought and the Pink Bow is obtained.
  • On the way back to Victory Road, a shiny Dodrio is encountered, but EWWYPPP runs away.
  • JRJII.. is beaten on the second attempt.
  • The hack also rearranges the order of the Elite Four. Koga is up first, and he leads with a Hypno, which beats High before falling to the Gator. Muk is the answer, and it beats Gator before Oppo can finish it. Shuckle is up next and also falls to Oppo, and up fourth is Ninetales. Dewgong comes in and gravely wounds it, but succumbs to a burn. Magmar finishes it off, but falls to a Nidoking, which then OHKOs Magneton; Oppo comes back out to finish it but falls to Koga's last Pokémon, a Crobat.
  • Having lost to the first E4 member despite starting at full health, the Mob leaves to train. Exploding wild Golems make it tough as they can quickly take out much of the team. One of the ones that blows itself up is shiny.
  • Koga is defeated on attempt #2, but only Why remains; he takes out Bruno's lead, a Heracross, before Machamp ends the run.
  • There's a side area at the League with trainers to battle, and EWWYPPP battles some. Then she teleports to New Bark Town via the Abra man.
  • Attempt 3 gets only Magneton and Magmar through the first battle, both easily fodder to Bruno's Rhydon. The next 3 attempts also all make it only to Bruno, before #7 falls at Koga again.
  • Attempt #10 finally defeats Bruno. His full team was Heracross, Machamp, Rhydon, Kangaskhan, Poliwrath, and Steelix. Feraligatr also hit the level cap of 82 during the battle, joining Why who hit it earlier. Will leads with an Espeon, and it knows Bite, finishing off Oppo who was the only one to survive the battle with Bruno.
  • Everyone survives the battle with Koga on attempt 12, but Bruno still ends the run. He's up to 9 victories against EWWYPPP, already tying him with the HeartGold rematch for 3rd-toughest Bruno. Out of 13, because Bruno's a member of two Elite Fours and some of those games have rematches.
  • Two more runs end at Bruno, and democracy is used to buy 11 Revives and 4 Full Restores. Note that the in-battle use of healing items is prohibited in this hack, not that the Mob has ever been able to coordinate using them anyway. Attempt #15 is started.

Day 10 - Kind of an Anticlimax

  • After the failure of Attempt 15, a grinding session starts. High hits the level cap about two hours in, followed an hour later by Magmar, and nearly two hours after that, Sadneton.
  • Another 2.5 hours of grinding brings Oppo to Level 82 as well. The entire team is now at the level cap, which will not move until earning the first Kanto Badge.
  • 40 minutes later, Attempt 16 begins. It, too, ends at Bruno.
  • Attempt 17 reaches Will, but with only Magmar and an injured, sleeping Sadneton. Magmar is able to take out Espeon and Starmie (thanks to Thunderpunch), but can't beat Slowbro, who ends the run.
  • Only Magneton goes down against Koga on Run 18, though Gator is poisoned.
  • High is able to flinch out Bruno's Heracross and defeat it flawlessly, and Oppo takes out Rhydon before nearly falling to Kangaskhan's Shadow Ball. High is sent back in to nullify this, and she defeats the Kangaskhan; Oppo comes back in against Machamp but falls to Cross Chop.
  • Gator comes out and uses Surf twice, but falls to the poison; Why is up next and finishes off Machamp, then falls victim to Poliwrath's Hypnosis, only to survive a hit with 1 HP and wake up to finish it off. He falls to Steelix, but Magmar cleans up.
  • The other four members of the team are revived, and the Full Restores and Potions are used along with an Ether to give Why more Ice Beams.
  • High takes out Will's Espeon before falling to Starmie, which Gator then takes out. Will's Exeggutor takes out the Gator, then puts Magmar to sleep and takes him out too. Why finishes it with Ice Beam, and Sadneton switches in to take out Slowbro, then takes down Alakazam and Porygon2 as well. Will defeated for the first time!
  • Again, the revives and potions are used. The party order is also switched, putting Oppo in the leadoff slot. Despite the type disadvantage, she takes out Umbreon, and Magmar comes in to take on Jynx, falling to Lovely Kiss but still pulling off the victory upon wake-up.
  • Karen's Tyranitar comes in and EWWYPPP switches first to Sadneton, then to Dewgong who is still paralyzed from his battle with Will's Slowbro. Sadneton is again switched in when Magmar falls, then switched out for Gator, who tanks an Earthquake and a Thunderbolt to OHKO with Surf.
  • Sadneton is sent in again against Vileplume, landing the first Yolo Cannon to Paralyze it, but falling asleep twice and eventually losing. High finishes the Vileplume with Return and beats Houndoom the same way, then successfully switches to Shadow Ball against Gengar. Gengar still overcomes High with Thunderbolt, however, and the same attack keeps Gator from being able to get off a single move. Oppo comes in, survives an Ice Punch, and takes out the Gengar. Karen defeated on the first try!
  • Magneton receives EWWYPPP's lone Max Revive, and the other four fainted party members receive Revives. Why receives a full complement of Potions to return to full health, and the last Potion in the bag is used on Gator. Why also receives a Calcium and a PP Up for his Ice Beam.
  • Gator leads off against Aerodactyl, and a Hyper Beam miss helps keep him alive as he takes the 'Dactyl out with Surf. Sadneton is switched in against Lapras, which tries and fails to put it to sleep.
  • Lance's third Pokémon is Charizard, which takes out Magneton with Fire Blast, then takes out Magmar with Earthquake. A misclick has Gator use Crunch on it at first, but Surf still takes down the 'Zard in the end. Gator gets off an Ice Punch against Dragonite, but it doesn't KO and Thunderbolt takes out Gator.
  • Why comes in against Dragonite, takes a Hyper Beam, and takes it out. Kingdra is up next, and Why survives a Dragonbreath and freezes it with Ice Beam. It can't thaw out and falls. Gyarados is the finisher, and Ice Beam crits, but even that isn't enough, and Hyper Beam finishes off Why. HIGH then comes in and uses Return, and Gyarados goes down. EWWYPPP is the Champion! In 8 fewer attempts and only four hours longer than it took to get past Clair.
  • 66 Ultra Balls are purchased in Democracy.
  • Only High and Oppo are standing upon reaching Brock for Attempt #1, and it ends in failure. A second attempt with a full-strength party succeeds.
  • JRJII.. is battled at Mt. Moon, taking 2 attempts.
  • Cerulean City is considerably tougher to navigate this time, as the Rockets taking the Machine Part subplot has been greatly expanded. It takes a number of attempts just to get to Cerulean Cape.

Day 11 - GUYS WE HAVE TO BEAT ERIKA

  • EWWYPPP finally reaches the Power Plant, then is forced to turn around and head back to Cerulean, where the Cave is now open. And it's a Rocket Base.
  • A defeated Admin tries to sic Mewtwo on EWWYPPP, but it runs off. Unsure as to whether challenging it is part of the quest to unlock Cerulean Gym, the Mob presses onward into the maze, going down probably every wrong path—maybe all but one, at best—before finding it. Why ends up defeating it.
  • The Machine Part is still in the base, and the Mob acquires it and delivers it to the Power Plant.
  • While battling the Gym Trainers in Cerulean Gym, Magmar of all Pokémon becomes the first to reach the new level cap of 86. Why joins him on the first attempt against Misty, which fails.
  • On attempt 2, Oppo's Giga Drain takes out Misty's Golduck, Lanturn, and Lapras, and she joins Magmar and Why at the level cap. Starmie takes Oppo and Magmar out, but falls to Magneton. Quagsire then takes Magneton down, followed by Furret, but falls to Why.
  • Misty's last Pokémon is Politoed, and it takes out Why, then avoids Gator's first two attacks despite neither having a natural miss chance, revealing that its held item is Bright Powder. It then puts Gator to sleep, but Gator wakes up in time to land enough Crunches for a narrow victory!
  • It takes only a few hours to traverse Rock Tunnel, and 24 more Ultra Balls are bought. High then hits the new level cap of 87. The TM for Psychic is acquired in Saffron City.
  • While battling the Gym Trainers in Saffron Gym, Magmar and Why hit the level cap. Sabrina, like the first two Kanto Gym Leaders, is defeated on the second attempt. Afterwards, democracy is used to teach Psychic to Oppo, overwriting Solarbeam, and switch her held item from Miracle Seed to Twistedspoon.
  • Lt. Surge also only takes two attempts. Back in Lavender Town, 14 more Ultra Balls are purchased.
  • Snorlax is woken up and successfully captured!
  • The trainers in Erika's Gym have some absolutely brutal movesets (see: Toxic/Double Team/Moonlight/Confuse Ray Umbreon), and she's no different, leading with a Leech Seed/Synthesis/Swagger/Sleep Powder Jumpluff. Dewgong takes it out, but falls to her Ampharos, and the run ends.
  • Erika then becomes the first Kanto Gym Leader to beat EWWYPPP twice. Which equals her total recorded wins over all previous hosts (note that attempt records on Gym Leaders weren't kept until Emerald, so Red might add to that total. It doesn't appear that AJ does, though.) This time Miltank came in second, and Ampharos, up third, again cleaned up.
  • And then just to prove that she's tired of being considered a pushover, she beats EWWYPPP a third time. She still hasn't used more than those three Pokémon, though this time it was Miltank finishing it off.
  • Due to having the right Pokémon out, Erika doesn't bring in her Miltank on the 4th run until 4 of her Pokémon are knocked out. She also has a Ninetales and a Victreebel. Magmar ends up beating the Miltank, but falls to her Meganium; HIGH finishes up the battle. Erika defeated on the 4th attempt.
  • Democracy is used in the Goldenrod Department Store, and valuable items are sold to buy Poké Balls. EWWYPPP then heads north to enter a Bug-Catching Contest. The Mob is disappointed at their inability to find a Pinsir, then even more disappointed when they accidentally faint the first one they find, but they manage to find a Scyther and catch that instead.

Day 12 - Finding Nothing

  • As expected, Scyther was sufficient to win the Bug-Catching Contest. EWWYPPP heads to Blackthorn City, as the Mob still desperately wants a Skarmory.
  • While searching for the Skarmory, they find a Shiny Donphan. They successfully weaken it without fainting it, but trolls run away.
  • A Skarmory is finally found, and the chat instinctively goes directly to the balls, which unsurprisingly fail due to Skarmory's low catch rate. Since Feraligatr doesn't have great Special Attack and Crunch didn't become a Physical move until Gen IV while Dark didn't become neutral against Steel until Gen VI, however, they're able to weaken it. Very slowly, because by that point Skarmory had spammed Sand-Attack so much that Gator could barely hit it at all.
  • After finally landing a second Crunch, the Mob returns to chucking Poké Balls, but eventually Feraligatr goes down. As noted two points earlier, there were deliberate trolls present, and the rest of the Mob was spamming A to try to keep the trolls' directional inputs from going through. Unfortunately, when sending in a new Pokémon, the cursor defaults to Fight, which means that if just one up/down input registered to switch to a new Pokémon before the input buffer clears, the Mob's own inputs will be turned against them. Oppo, lacking the lowered accuracy, finishes off the Skarmory.
  • EWWYPPP continues south to New Bark Town and acquires the Master Ball. She then continues back to Pewter City for the Silver Wing.
  • The Super Rod is acquired, and then the Fast Ship S.S. Aqua is used to get to Olivine City. During the trip, Sadneton hits the newest level cap, 92.
  • The GS Ball is acquired, and EWWYPPP heads towards the Whirl Islands. Gator hits the level cap en route.
  • The Master Ball is used on Lugia.
  • Oppo hits level 92 in Fuchsia Gym. Janine is then challenged, and she has an Umbreon that's just as bad as the one in Celadon Gym, only it has Rest as its recovery move and carries a Mint Berry to wake itself up from its first use.
  • High also hits Level 92. Sadneton is used as the main counter to Umbreon, as it's immune to Toxic. Ball Spam ruins attempt #2, and it eventually takes 4 tries. EWWYPPP heads to the Seafoam Islands and then onward to Cinnabar.

Day 13 - The Search for Legends.

  • Back in the Seafoam Islands, there are three caves containing the three Legendary Birds of Kanto. The day begins in Zapdos's cave, and EWWYPPP finds the lightning bird, but runs away.
  • After 5 attempts, Blaine is defeated. The Mob steers their host back to Seafoam and into Moltres's cave.
  • Moltres is enountered, but ran from. Less than an hour later, they reach Articuno's lair...and run again.
  • High hits the new level cap, 96.
  • Two PP Ups are used on Oppo's Giga Drain.
  • Further grinding brings Oppo and Sadneton up to the level cap.
  • The final trainer prior to Blue has a Snorlax with Curse, and it threatens to wall out the team. Gator is also level 96. Unsurprisingly, the first attempt at Blue fails.
  • On attempt #3, Magmar hits the cap. It fails, but attempt #4 succeeds.
  • On the way back to Azalea Town to pick up the analyzed GS Ball and go after Celebi, a shiny Oddish is encountered. She's captured and named WWW.
  • Celebi is only level 48, making it way too easy to accidentally knock out, and Why does just that.
  • EWWYPPP finds a Shiny Golbat in the Ice Path again, but this time she catches it. It's male, and it's named VVVVVVVVVV.
  • Since they're no longer necessary, Cut and Whirlpool are removed from our team's movelists, to be replaced by Headbutt and Surf, respectively.
  • En route to Mt. Silver, JRJII.. is encountered and defeated on the first try.

Day 14 - Desperate Times

  • The true champion is encountered, and it's...Azure from Anniversary Crystal? She has the team that Red would normally have in this hack, though—which is to say that she has Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew, Snorlax, and Lapras. All of them have Leftovers, and the Snorlax has Curse and Rest while Mew has Softboiled.
  • After just two attempts, grinding begins outside the cave. Once all six Pokémon are level 100, attempts resume.
  • After the seventh failure, democracy is used to teach Dewgong Toxic over Aurora Beam, though some considered giving it to Oppo instead, replacing Confusion.
  • At some point during "night crew"'s shift, Azure's Mew lands two consecutive critical hits to keep her winning streak intact.
  • On Attempt 22, Mew again lands a critical hit, though Feraligatr still beats it. Unlike the double-crit run, though, it wasn't Azure's last Pokémon, and Moltres's Fire Blast lands on Magneton to end the run. Azure becomes the second trainer of the run to reach a full Wattson.

Day 15 - Desperate Measures

  • The day opens en route to the summit of Mt. Silver again. Azure has now won 25 times. Run 26 once again comes down to Magneton needing to dodge a Fire Blast and utterly failing to do so, except now it's holding a Magnet instead of a Quick Claw so that extra bit of hax isn't available to the Mob.
  • The trolling intensifies, and after the 33rd defeat, with over a full day of attempts, most of which were derailed by trolls and many of the remainder being derailed by legitimately well-meaning inputters who still made bad inputs due to the input delay and the fact that inputs were flying, an ultimatum is given: two more tries in Anarchy and then Democracy will be implemented. The Quick Claw is given to Why while Minus receives the Focus Band. It comes into play almost immediately, allowing Minus to last longer against Snorlax, but Mew wrecks heads as usual.
  • Magmar is taken out by the wild Pokémon en route to Attempt 36, which of course makes the decision elementary: Democracy is invoked and Magmar is revived and Full Restored.
  • As usual, Magmar leads off by Flamethrowering Articuno twice for the win. Exeggutor is successfully swapped in, and Leech Seed is used on Snorlax. As expected, Body Slam paralyzes our Pokémon at some point. Exeggutor wins, but falls to Zapdos. So far, exactly as expected.
  • With democracy available, however, rather than switching to Magneton as the Mob had always done in Anarchy (due to "up" being a far "safer" input to spam than "down", since the switching menu loops around but the command menu doesn't and as such up will never put the Mob in the Bag), they switch back to Magmar. Lapras comes in next and is too quick for Magmar to Thunderpunch. Magneton comes in to Thunderbolt, paralyzing the Lapras, but it confuses Magneton. The next turn, neither side gets their attack off successfully, with Magneton hurting itself while Lapras is fully paralyzed. Magneton takes it out, then falls to Mew's Earthquake.
  • Dewgong comes in and uses Toxic on Mew, then starts flinging Ice Beams. Mew's Psychic takes it out, though. It tries to heal with Softboiled, but Furret's Return does almost as much as it heals, and the poison's still adding up. Moltres finishes off Furret, but Feraligatr is still untouched and its Surf is able to win the battle. Azure defeated after 36 attempts.
  • The game freezes as EWWYPPP tries to head back to Victory Road, and suddenly they're back in Mt. Silver Cave. A save state was loaded from before Magmar fainted on the way to attempt 36, and the Mob is informed that they have two more chances to win in anarchy. Furthermore, the Rematch Elite Four, which was not unlocked until after beating Azure, will not be a part of the victory condition. Win or lose, the run will end after these two attempts. Unsurprisingly, motivation is at an all-time low, and Azure remains unbeaten in Anarchy.
