Now that Simon's gone the girls have fun on the beach, with the exception of Sapphire, who never learned how to swim due to fear of the water. While local surfers take the BFFL out to sea, they run into a sea monster, with Spinell theorizing that the battle with Simon stirred up Trollhiti's ancient magic, and only a mystical tablet somewhere on the island can put the monsters to sleep again.
Sapphire wants to prove she's unafraid to help, and she runs into a friendly ogre named Sandstone, who went to Trollhiti on a field trip but was left behind because he couldn't read the map. Sapphire teaches him to read, and he teaches her how to swim, and a friendship is formed. Soon, though, the sea serpent attacks again. Sapphire braves her fears and swims to retrieve the tablet, while Sandstone reads the spell and stops the monster from eating the BFFL. They part as friends, with Sapphire wishing him good luck in getting home.
