Zirconia is recovering nicely, and she and the other Ancients have a tea party with the girls. Onyx is still angry about not being able to find her Ancient, though, and she storms off to look for clues in the Haunted Woodz. Zirconia gets a psychic flash of Onyx being in trouble, and she is—she's run into Simon, who catches her off-guard. Simon imprisons her within a tree, and to make matters worse he makes it invisible. Now no one will ever find her, the Magic of the Five will no longer work, and Onyx will eventually become the tree, just like Zirconia did.
Luckily, Onyx is saved by an unlikely source...the dragon! Using grunts to communicate with her, he tells her that he is her Ancient and was forced into working for Simon and guarding Zirconia. They start to escape together, but Simon turns the dragon into his true self in mid-air. The dragon is really an old troll named Spinell. They fall, but the others arrive to help out. With the Magic of Ten, the girls and Ancients banish Simon and Snarf back to the Shadow World. After Onyx introduces Spinell to the others, Zirconia butts in and reveals that Spinell's her husband, and she's not too happy about being stuck as a tree for so long.

- Famous Ancestor: According to Obsidian, Ruby's a direct descendant of King Trollemagne the First (in fact, Ruby's last name is basically just a watered down version of "Trollemagne"). Ruby quickly starts bragging about this to rest of the BFFL.
- Henpecked Husband: Spinell appears to be this to Zirconia.
