An archaeological dig uncovers the warship the Decepticons used to attack the Ark four million years ago and Megatron raids the ship to recover its fuel source, the Heart of Cybertron. Megatron installs the Heart of Cybertron into his chest, which greatly amplifies his powers and allows him to easily overpower the Autobots. Perceptor proposes the Autobots shrink themselves to microscopic size and sneak inside his body to disconnect the Heart of Cybertron before Megatron can finish them off.

- Amusingly Awful Aim: Starscream misses hitting a single tree somehow while firing his blasters in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.Rumble: Good shot, Starscream!
- Animation Bump: This episode features quite a few scenes that are of a notably higher animation quality than most of the series. Most of these take place during the action scenes, with more dynamic poses and detailing for the close-ups.
- Call-Back: The warship discovered at the Mayan ruins is the Nemesis, the warship the Decepticons used to storm the Ark that was last seen in the pilot episode.
- Can't Hold His Liquor: It seems most of the Decepticons are lightweights, since it only takes a few chugs of energon before they get completely trashed. When Megatron tries to rally his troops after spotting Powerglide, none of his men are able to even stand up straight and are out of commission for the rest of the episode.
- Drunk on Milk: The Decepticons "overcharge" after drinking their energon cubes, which is basically the Cybertronian equivalent of getting drunk. They leads to them all passing out in a drunken stupor, much to Powerglide's confusion.Megatron: Good ol' Cybertron! Land... of the metal moon!
- "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: Perceptor, Brawn, and Bumblebee shrink themselves down to microscopic size so they can enter Megatron's body and disconnect the Heart of Cybertron from his circuits without him noticing.
- Godzilla Threshold: The Heart of Cybertron empowered Megatron is such a threat that Optimus reluctantly cuts Perceptor’s power source so the Autobots can use it to try anything.
- Hand Blast: Megatron gains the ability to fire off powerful beams of energy from his fingers after he's powered-up by the Heart of Cybertron.
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Brawn tosses the unstable Heart of Cybertron up into the sky and Perceptor blasts it after calculating that it's gone over two thousand miles. That would place the Heart of Cybertron at the limits of Low Earth orbit when Perceptor shot it.
- Shrink Ray: Perceptor has a transmat reduction beam which can shrink and enlarge the size of objects. He mostly uses this to assist in repairs of microchips, but it comes in handy when the Autobots need to shrink themselves to sneak inside Megatron's body.
- Villain Raises a Toast: Megatron raises a toast of energon to his fellow Decepticons for their impending victory thanks to the Heart of Cybertron:Megatron: Decepticons: a toast. To the imminent destruction of the accursed Autobots!
