Paul's family becomes rich when his father, Alvin, makes an investment. Kevin notices Jack showing signs of resentment and jealousy over Alvin, and later learns that Alvin asked Jack to join him in the investment and he turned it down. Later, the Pfeiffer's invite the Arnolds to a country club, but they learn that the beach property they invested in has been flooded, rendering the investment useless and the family no longer rich. Afterwards, the narrator says that the next school semester, Paul would switch from his prep school and start attending Kevin's school.
