War has finally commenced between two opposite sides in the walker-infested world. On one side, the residents of Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom. On the other lies the tyrannical Saviors and their allies, the Scavengers. Despite an auspicious start, the allied forces of AHKnote  suffer major casualties and setbacks, and find themselves plagued by several rogue actions and rash decisions by their own people that nearly cause them to lose everything. Negan also finds himself struggling to hold his empire together as he faces threats from his rebelling slave states as well as from within. Rick Grimes

A year and a half has passed since Rick, along with his allies, won the war against the Saviors. Alexandria, the Hilltop, the Kingdom and Oceanside have finally found peace. The new peace is threatened, however, not just by walkers and the crumbling infrastructures of the past, but lingering bad blood from the defeated Saviors and Rick’s own inner circle who remain disgusted with his controversial decision that ended the Savior War. Rick’s drive to create an idyllic future brings the communities into the dawning of a new era, one in which the survivors become estranged and distant from another... and easy prey for an unprecedented threat. This new evil will test the bonds of friendship and family among the communities, who must find the strength to stand together once again if they are to survive.

"We fight for our future. We don't fight for revenge."
Daryl Dixon

Ten survivors from Alexandria, the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and the Highwaymen lost their lives to the Whisperers' brutality, with the survivors still reeling months later and unsure how to move on. A mysterious chain of incidents befalls the communities which causes paranoia to take a firm grip on the survivors. Though some demand action, others contend that they are in no shape for war against a threat that is literally the personification of the undead. Whatever the survivors decide, one thing is now clear: the future that Rick Grimes fought so hard to build - a future where society can indeed thrive in a world of the dead - now hangs in the balance.

"Maggie, if this plan fails... then everything you've worked for, everything you want for the future, it dies with it."

Weary from the aftermath of the Whisperer War which took its' toll on their faith and infrastructure, the survivors - joined by an old friend who has returned with a new group at their side - are now huddled together in one place, strained to their limits. Eugene’s sojourn brings much-needed help in the form of the Commonwealth and it’s plentiful resources, but some survivors are wary at what they could lose to their new benefactor who may or may not be all that they seem. As the end of a journey nears, the survivors must now make their stand to ensure that all they have sacrificed and lost, all they have struggled and fought for since the apocalypse began over a decade ago was not in vain.
