The Monarch and 21 set out as the Blue Morpho and Kano, while Rusty and his crew work on a mind-control gas.
- Amazon Chaser: One dose of God Gas sends Brock on a lust filled run to Warriana. She's quite receptive.
- Cool Car: The Morphomobile is a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL with a bunch of weapons and gadgets, including rockets.
- Continuity Nod:
- Billy mentions Dr. Venture was previously banned from the science conference for presenting "a vacuum that leaked radiation", i.e., the Boom Broom, mentioned offhand several times in the series.
- The Monarch's bizarre ignorance of butterflies is brought up for the first time since season 1, as he has no idea what a morpho is.
- Dirty Coward: During Haranguetan's attack, Pete White "hides in a corner" until it's all over.
- Insistent Terminology: Billy tries to specify that God Gas is not mind control gas. Doc isn't having any of it.
- Pink Is Erotic: Brock and Warriana had some interest in each other, but only have sex after Brock gets extremely horny under the influence of God Gas. During this time, Brock's eyes are pink, and he wakes up in a pink bed (with Warriana's whip still in his ass).
- Secret-Keeper: Billy becomes one when he's rescued by The Monarch as the Blue Morpho, and he recognizes his face. Subverted, in that his trimmed beard makes Billy thinks it's Rusty Venture while under the influence of the God Drug.
- Shout-Out:
- Henchman 21's caution to The Monarch before he enters the Morpho Cave (and 21's subsequent hearing of 24's voice) is taken almost verbatim from Yoda's advice to Luke Skywalker (and his subsequent exchange with the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi) in The Empire Strikes Back.
- Henchman 21 is pretty sure that the women on the recording of Jonas Sr. and Blue Morpho's booty call are actually Jill St. John and Stella Stevens — two actresses who appeared as "girls of the week" on, naturally, Batman.
- 21 wants to pile up the junk in the Blue Morpho lair and climb it like the Aggro Crag.
- The Treachery of Images: It seems the mind control gas gave Haranguetan hallucinations showing Rusty and Billy as devils.
