Recap / The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody S 2 E 28 Birdman Of Bostom

Go To

  • An Aesop: Cody's hawk Bubba ends up teaching two lessons to everyone involved.
    • Even though it's hard, letting your kids go so they can live their lives is best, so they can grow and live their best lives.
    • Animals are happiest in the wild.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Cody hears both points about either letting Bubba out into the wild or sending him to a zoo. When Cody comments on how he likes feeding Bubba a specific type of meat, Moseby makes a retort that drives home how the wild won't be as kind to Bubba as his caretaker. Later, when Cody voices the benefits of sending his hawk to a zoo, Carrie soberly brings up that Bubba will essentially be a prisoner there. Although Cody ultimately chooses the latter choice, it's clear that both choices have their respective benefits and trade-offs.
  • Parental Abandonment: A rather justified variation. Bubba's mother left him before he hatched because of one point, too many people scared her off from her egg.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: "Birdman of Boston," is an allusion to the title of the 1962 film, Birdman of Alcatraz
