When Cody comments on how he likes feeding Bubba a specific type of meat, Moseby makes a retort that drives home how the wild won't be as kind to Bubba as his caretaker. Later, when Cody voices the benefits of sending his hawk to a zoo, Carrie soberly brings up that Bubba will essentially be a prisoner there. Although Cody ultimately chooses the latter choice, it's clear that both choices have their respective benefits and trade-offs.
