The Smeet

A female smeet is sent to the Massive to be look after by Tallest Red because he's her biological father, and since her mother died birthing her, she has no other family other than him. While initially reluctant, Red soon becomes attached to his daughter, naming her Ilk.

Red and Purple earn a very dangerous enemy in the Sobrekt, the crocodilian inhabitants of Sobr, by stealing their Moondrop Flower, the last of its kind, in order to save Ilk's life after she contracts Drilo's Disease. They meet Captain, a high-ranking commander in the Sobrekt military, during this time.

As Ilk grows up, she learns more about the Irken Empire, her father and uncle, and overall, Zim. She continues to bond with everyone aboard the Massive, especially with the Tallest. However, she has a trait uncharacteristic for an Irken: empathy for other species.

In retaliation for Red and Purple's theft of the Moondrop Flower, Captain sends an indokuro (a creature heavily based on the Indoraptor) into the Massive to retrieve the flower, but it targets Ilk. She's saved by the Invaders, but as it seems the threat has been averted, the indokuro snatches Ilk from Red's arms, causing her to lose a leg in the ensuing scuffle. Much to everyone's shock, however, it regrows a few hours later. Red decides to keep the incident, and the following Sobrekt War, from Ilk to protect her. It's also revealed that the Moondrop flower used in the cure for Drilo's Disease assimilated self-regeneration, a previously Sobrekt-exclusive ability, into Ilk's DNA.

Shuryo, the Sobrekt leader, orders Captain to capture Ilk and bring her to him after learning she has the flower's genome in her DNA.

Lost

A medical drone named Lena arrives at the Massive, where she has been assigned to work as the new Head of the Medical Department due to her height and skill. During a small tour with Tenn, she first meets Ilk and Tallest Red after the latter storms out of the Control Brain chambers. Red is taken aback by Lena's resemblance to Tallest Miyuki and feels an attraction to her.

Ilk has been informed by the Control Brains that, on Red's insistence, she'll be eventually train as an Invader, much to her chagrin. She pleads to her father to change his mind, but Red informs her there's nothing to do, as the Control Brains have the final word. Though unhappy about it, Ilk doesn't have the heart to tell Red that she doesn't want to be an Invader, afraid of disappointing him.

As the war with the Sobrekt continues, Ilk becomes frustrated at Red for postponing their weekly quality time, unaware that Foodcourtia has been seized. Out of spite, she steals a ship and flies away from the Massive with Lena tagging along. However, they are captured by the crew of the Ibris led by Captain, who intend to take them back to Sobr on the Shuryo's orders.

Both parties are tense and distrustful of each other. Soon after, another Irken ship crash-lands, carrying none other than Zim, GIR and Dib; having received the emergency beacon by mistake, Zim went to 'save' his Tallest while Dib snuck into his ship. The Irkens are horrified, especially when they learn Zim failed to inform the Armada of the emergency beacon, which means they are on their own. To their shock, however, the Sobrekt are happy to see zim and hold him on a pedestal.

Later on, a Hothian Red and Lena met earlier returns with a small armed group to capture the group and the Ibris. The group is split up in two ships (which for some reason seems to work): Red, Lena, Ilk, Zim, Blue, Captain, Fury and GIR are put in one ship, while the rest are loaded unto another. Fortunately, GIR and Fury escape and knock out their captors, but then destroy the ship's console, forcing the group to evacuate the ship by jumping off into a cliff before it crashes down.

Meanwhile, the rest of the captives are forced to work on the Ibris so the Hothians can escape, to Masouri's dismay. While the two parties are tense and distrustful of each other, Dib manages to convince them to put their differences aside for the time being if only for the sake of their survival.

As Ilk's group heads towards the Hothian base to save their friends, Red and Lena continue to bond, while Ilk inadvertedly attracts Blue's attention by defeating him in a small fight. Meanwhile, Purple accidentally hatches the Indokuro egg the Raptor squad was looking after and it imprints on him.

Eventually, our heroes find out that Hoth went through a cataclysm similar to the one that killed dinosaurs on Earth; the atmosphere is contaminated with all the chemicals and substances that the asteroid sent into the air, which additionally blocked the sunlight. Not only that, but the solar system's sun is going through numerous solar storms that render all equipment useless except for those coated in a metal native from Hoth. Masouri can stall the Ibris's repairs while Ilk's group reaches the Hothian base to rescue them.

An argument between Red and Captain leads to the latter leaving the party to head out on his own. The rest of the group crosses a frozen lake and are attacked by a sharktopus. Just as Red is dragged down by the creature, Captain dives in to save him, but afterward enters hibernation phase due to the prolonged exposure to the cold water.

Meanwhile, the tension between Ilk and Red increases as Blue becomes closer to her, culminating in a monstrous argument during which Ilk finally confesses that she doesn't want to be an Invader, to Red's mortification. At their breaking point, Red slaps Ilk (though he quickly regrets it) and she runs away, with Zim, GIR and Fury going after her; While Red confronts Blue over his relationship with Ilk, Lena tries to intervene and is roasted, with Red snapping at her that Ilk is not her concern and to remember her place as a lowly medical drone, hurting her feelings.

Ilk, Zim, GIR, and Fury are attacked by Zim's santa creation, but it ends up defending them from a Mendigo. In the ensuing battle, Ilk is injured fatally, but thankfully the DNA in her allows her to heal somewhat inside the cave's spring waters, with Lena taking care of her. Having awakened, Captain has a talk with Red, making him realize that he's unknowingly become possesive of Ilk, and he wants her to be an Invader to relive his own glory days.

He also learns why the Moondrop Flower was so important to the Sobrekt: years ago, the flower's population was depleted near extinction because of an outbreak of Drilo's Disease, and the one stolen was the last of its kind. Due to them stealing it, the Sobrekt had no way to cure the second outbreak not long ago, costing the lives of millions, including Captain's unborn offspring. Additionally, Red learns that the two assassins sent to the Massive years ago were Blue's father and grandfather.

After Ilk awakes, she and Red have a heart-to-heart talk and reconcile, but Lena rejects Red's apology when he approaches her, informing him that she'll be asking for her transfer away from the Massive. The Hothians contact the group, demanding that they show up in their base next morning to reach an agreement, holding Purple, Echo and Dib as hostages.

Following a plan cooked up by GIR on sane mode, the group goes to the Hothian base while Zim and Fury go looking for Mendigos to lure there. Meanwhile, Iraa takes Ilk and Lena hostage while locking up the rest alongside Purple, Echo and Dib, planning to leave them all behind while he and his people escape on the Ibris. Thanks to Purple's 'encyclopedic knowledge', they manage to break the electronic lock on the cell. Red and Blue go save Ilk and Lena.

In the control room, Lena distracts Iraa and the Hothians to keep them from seeing Red and Blue in the camera feeds, giving them time to arrive. Managing to free herself, Lena scuffles with the female Hothian, ending up killing her while Red and Blue knock the others out. But the planet's contaminated atmosphere finally starts taking its toll on Ilk and Blue, as well as the rest of the Sobrekt.

Meanwhile, The Raptor Squad and the Invaders are about to be executed by the Hothians, having outlived their usefulness, until GIR shows up and distracts them, giving Masouri time to activate the Ibris's security systems to blow up the Hothians. Purple, Captain, Blue and the rest show up soon after and barricade the ship while waiting for Fury and Zim to return, but Iraa takes Lena hostage in a desperate move. To ensure that the others escape, Lena shoots herself with Iraa's weapon in the shoulder to make him lose his leverage, to Red's horror. Just then, Zim and Fury finally arrive with a whole pack of Mendigos, with the latter killing Iraa by decapitating him.

Aboard the Ibris, both groups recuperate as they escape the planet, having bonded somewhat during their respective times together, reason for which Purple decides not to capture the weakened Raptor Squad. Ilk and Lena need blood transfusions due to their weakened state, but the latter has a very rare blood type, which Red coincidentally shares. To his chagrin, though, the only person on board with the same blood tupe as Ilk is none other than Zim. Taking some advice from Captain, Red confesses his feelings to Lena and asks her to stay.

After reuniting with their respective armies, Ilk manages to come to an agreement with the Shuryo: in exchange for her DNA, the Sobrekt Armada will retreat from Irken-controlled planets except for a few which Sobr wishes to keep. Both groups finally part ways, though Blue and Ilk choose to stay in contact and the little Indokuro (whom Zim accidentally named Cheesecake) stays behind with Purple. As Lena chooses to stay at the Massive, Red invites her to accompany him to Foodcourtia with Ilk.

Indokani

A few years after the adventure on Hoth, Red and Lena have gotten married and Purple has gotten very attached to the now-adult Cheesecake, but his spoiling of the indokuro has caused it to become disobedient, lazy and aggressive to other people, particularly to Red's chagrin. Shortly after, they receive an invitation to Ilk and Blue's pre-wedding, to Red's dismay.

On Sobr, the Irkens encounter Zim, who has now grown taller, surpassing even Larb in height, and meet with Blue's family, including his mother, sisters and uncle. Though Cheesecake was left behind on the Massive, he finds a way to go down and reunite with Purple, who is instantly called out by the Sobrekt around him for the indokuro's unhealthy state and uncontrolable personality.

Not long after, Red sends the Invaders to learn whatever information they can get about the Sobrekt genetic hybrids. During their missions, Larb discovers a new hybrid involving Zim, and Tenn becomes enrolled in the Kurokran Corps after being chosen (swallowed) by one of said creatures.

Pre-Parental Panic

The Massive makes a stop on Vort so the Tallest can deal with a small Vortian revolt; Lena, who is close to giving birth, spends some time in the Universe's Most Comfortable Couch, but is taken hostage by some Vortian prisoners. The stress of the situation causes her to go into labor and enter a feral mode, during which she takes down the Vortians by herself.

While waiting outside their chambers, Red confides in Purple that he's afraid of what he might become should he ever lose any of the people he cares about, referring to a past Tallest that went nuts after losing his wife and smeet in childbirth. These fears are momentarily put to rest when Lena finally calls him in and shows her the little egg she has laid, whom they decide to call Rouge.
