As a snowstorm blocks their way, the group decides to take a shortcut through Pykon, an abandoned Elven fortress. In Arborlon, the Changeling, disguised as the King Eventine, manipulates Arion against Allanon. Meanwhile, Ander and Slanter find Dagda Mor's horde of Demons.

- Bathtub Bonding: Eretria and Amberle have a bonding conversation while they're bathing together. It turns awkward for Amberle when Eretria reveals she's not only into guys:Amberle: So it's Rover custom to jump into bed with every guy you meet?
Eretria: [swims extremely close to her] Honestly? It's not just guys. - Changed My Mind, Kid: After Slanter escapes Ander and Diana, they assume he's gone, but he actually comes back to them after he saw the Demon army for himself and realized Ander was being sincere.
- Character Death: Crispin is killed when trying to hold back the Reaper at the end of the episode.
- Child by Rape: Mag, whose father lobotomized her mother to make her his "wife".
- Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Cephelo sending Amberle, Wil, Eretria, and The Reaper falling down the cliff.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: Remo plans to do this with Amberle and her entire group, just for fun.
- Creepy Child: Mag, Wil even calls her so. Not really her fault given how and where she was raised, though.
- Death of a Child: Mag, who dies trying to save Wil.

- Due to the Dead: After finding some Gnomes massacred by Demons, Prince Ander unchains Slanter so he may give them the proper rites.
- Erotic Dream: The episode opens with Amberle dreaming of making out with Wil. Cephelo teases her about moaning in her sleep when she wakes.
- Fantastic Racism / Half-Breed Discrimination: Remo makes a hateful comment about Wil's half-breed status, and his own daughter Mag's too.
- Fingore: Remo straps Amberle to a torture device that starts to pull off her nails, but they're interrupted by Wil before they're torn off.

- Heroic Sacrifice: Crispin and Mag die trying to save the group.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Arion stabs Allanon through the back when he tries to attack The Changeling disguised as Eventine.

- Inspector Javert: Arion becomes one to Allanon when the Changeling tricks him into believing the druid was corrupted by the Demons.
- Ms. Fanservice: Amberle and Eretria's bath scene has plenty of gratuitous Male Gaze as they show Shoulders-Up Nudity then Eretria hits on her.
- Oh, Crap!: Ander has this reaction when he sees the size of the Demon horde.
- The Peeping Tom: Remo spies on Amberle and Eretria as they bathe through a hidden peephole, and both girls quickly stop bathing when they hear him.
- Poisoned Chalice Switcheroo: Cephelo openly tries this with the food Remo offers, challenging him to eat it. When he does, it convinces everyone to try too... only to find out all the food is drugged, Remo's simply immune to it.
- Relative Ridicule: When Eretria forcefully flirts with Amberle to make her uncomfortable, Amberle remarks that she's acting just like Cephelo, which visibly offends her.
- Shoulders-Up Nudity: Amberle and Eretria are shown this way when they're bathing.
- Slave Brand: When Amberle asks about Eretria's back tattoo, Eretria says she doesn't know but assumes it's some kind of slave mark by a previous owner.
- Slipping a Mickey: Remo drugs the food he gives to Amberle's group so he can capture and torture them.
- Taking Advantage of Generosity: After Ander permits Slanter to be unchained so he can give the slaughtered Gnomes their proper rites, Slanter takes the chance to grab a knife from one of the corpses then takes a horse and uses it to escape.
- Taking the Bullet: Mag takes a crossbow bolt to the back for Wil when Remo shoots at him.
- The Tease: Eretria flirts with Amberle on the bath, although it's left in the air if she actually is attracted to Amberle or just enjoys making her uncomfortable.
- Toplessness from the Back: A shot of Eretria as she's resting on the bath's border shows her bare back, so the viewer (and Amberle) can notice the tattoo on her back and Amberle can question her about it.
- Torture Technician: Remo's job during the War of the Races was being one for the Elves. He continued to be one even after it ended.
