Recap / The Secret Show S 1 E 3 Bogie Ball

Go To

A massive ball of bogies has been stolen from a Sicilian sculptor named Alphonse. U.Z.Z agents Victor and Anita are sent to investigate and soon discover that T.H.E.M. (The Horrible Evil Menace) has obtained proof that World Leader eats her bogies... but what does THAT have to do with the bogie ball theft? And why are the Expendables wearing nose-shields?

Changed Daily's Name: Mommy Dearest.

Secret Tropes uncovered:

  • Alliterative Name: Doctor Doctor.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Mommy Dearest does not like salted popcorn, despite requesting it to be sweet.
  • Grossout Show:
    • The episode revolves around World Leader's photos being transmitted to Sicily covertly and retrieving Alphonse's bogie ball back. Victor and Anita's bogies also become supercharged to be explosive. The episode ends with Alphonse and Anita hanging from a helicopter, seemingly in love, while Alphonse's big ball of bogies lands on Doctor Doctor and explodes.
    • Victor is asked by Alphonse to put his head in a hairy yet fluffy ball. It's actually belly button fluff.
  • Nasal Weapon:
    • T.H.E.M. uses a machine to make bogies highly explosive. They plan to use Alphonse's giant ball of bogies as a weapon akin to something like an atomic bomb.
    • After Victor and Anita's own bogies have been made explosive, they use them to escape from their cell by flicking them at the door and blowing it up.
  • Nose Nuggets: This episode primarily focuses on bogies and how they're being made into weapons.
  • Once an Episode:
    • The Fluffy Bunny Show: Sweet Little Granny is evicted from her time-slot by agents stopping the VT projector and calling to start the show.
    • Victor and Anita land on enemy Expendaball hover-bikes after the title sequence.
    • Changed Daily's name is "Mommy Dearest" for this episode.
    • The fireplace acts as a means to control the elevator to go to the theater room, which mildly confuses everyone for the time it's active.
  • Running Gag: Victor puts his head in a giant ball of belly button fluff, and later on puts his mouth on an earwax flute Alphonse made for Anita at the end of the episode.
  • Second Episode Introduction: First appearance of T.H.E.M.'s Doctor Doctor, the evil counterpart to Professor Professor, as well as the pool-themed Expendables working as Mooks for her. This episode also marks the first appearance of Alphonse the sculptor, who goes on to become a recurring character afterwards.
  • Serious Business: World Leader's photos are of her eating her own bogies, which makes all the agents scream in horror and disgust.
