Midway Elementary Science Fair is coming up and the main judge is a famous scientist, Dr. Rupert Kinsington, who Blossom is a major fan of. When she finally meets him and he sees how smart she is, Rupert asks for her help in making a device for the fair. However he's revealed to have ulterior motives once the device is completed.

Tropes

  • Cover Identity Anomaly: Janitaur pretty much flubs his fake identity right off the bat by not even remembering the name of the person he kidnapped nor what his achievements are. It's only due to Blossom fangirl-ing and none of the other students knowing who he was that his cover wasn't blown.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Janitaur didn't design a reverse switch on the animal changing device, hoping to make the changes permanent especially when the ray is busted. But Blossom was smart enough to make another device to reverse the effects just in case.
  • Dark Horse Victory: After Janitaur is defeated, the real Rupert goes on to judge and award the science fair prize...to Bubbles and Buttercup for their studies on the ghost horse. Blossom takes the loss in stride though.
  • Didn't Think This Through: After Janitaur reveals himself and his plans to turn everyone into an animal, Blossom asks why he didn't just have her try to make him human again.
  • Forced Transformation: Janitaur, real name Wendell, got hit with this in a lab explosion when he was a kid, turning him into a centaur. His main plan is to do the same for the rest of the city, managing to turn the girls into a walrus (Blossom), a bee (Bubbles), and a flamingo (Buttercup) during their scuffle.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: Man-made in this case from a school accident.
  • Real After All: Sort of, the "ghost horse" Bubbles and Buttercup keep looking for and Blossom keeps dismissing turns out to be Janitaur which the old rumors of the school spring from as, since he's a janitor, no one sees his true form during school hours.
