Tropes

  • A Day in the Limelight: The series of four webisodes focus on Creed.
  • All There in the Manual: The webisodes explain why Creed got a toy helicopter and Andy got a Nard Dog tattoo.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Creed wants a helicopter, commodities, gold, oil, political capital, four-leaf clovers, bones, information (as in gossip) and uranium.
  • Blackmail: What Creed is doing so he can get a helicopter. In actuality, he wanted six dollars to buy a toy helicopter on Amazon.
  • "Blackmail" Is Such an Ugly Word: Said nearly word-for-word by Creed.
  • Blatant Lies: Andy denies that he has a tramp stamp.
  • Comically Missing the Point:
    • Once Creed gets his toy helicopter, he plans to send it to the Amazon, home to the largest bookstore.
    • Creed resorts to blackmailing Kelly to get juicy blackmail material on his coworkers. Kelly, the incorrigible office gossip who would almost certainly have been happy to dish out the dirt without being forced.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Had Creed been given six dollars before hand for his helicopter, he wouldn't have to blackmail everyone. This said, the other characters can hardly be blamed for not wanting to submit to blackmail, and the inverse is also true: had Creed just asked to borrow the money instead of resorting to blackmail, he could possibly have achieved a similar result much sooner.
  • Driven to Suicide: Creed threatens to set himself on fire if he doesn't get paid, but his chosen method, rubbing two sticks together, leaves something to be desired.
  • Embarrassing Tattoo: Andy has a tramp stamp on his lower back that means "Nard Dog".
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Creed took introductory Spanish classes and said "Jonas Brothers" with a silent J. He even talked to Oscar in Spanish before returning in English.
  • Insult Backfire: Andy told Creed that he is gratuitously creepy, where Creed took it as a compliment.
  • Karma Houdini: Kelly is the one who passes the incriminating gossip for the blackmailing on to Creed, but she never gets targeted for it.
  • Product Placement: Ebay.
  • The Reveal: In the fourth and final webisode, there are several reveals about Creed, which he acknowledges.
    • He was Janis Joplin's drug dealer.
    • He made Chinese anti-democracy videos where he yells "Confucius is a fool! We grow fat on greed."
    • He introduced the Walking Snakehead fish into the North American Ecosystem.
    • He threw plenty of raves in the Dunder-Mifflin warehouse and was known to the kids as Papa Smurf.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: When he starts sheepishly mumbling to avoid explaining why he doesn't want to intervene, Toby actually says the word "mumble", which Andy frustratedly Lampshades.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Downplayed, but everyone ends up deciding to give in to Creed's demands (which, as it turns out, is merely $6.00, either collectively or per-person) mainly because his attempt at setting himself on fire as a final gambit is so pathetic and delusional that they end up both pitying him and not wanting to waste any more time on the matter.
