Recap / The Office USS 9 E 6 The Boat

Go To

Following up from the end of the previous episode, Andy’s family is in crisis, as his father blew through all their money and fled to Argentina with a younger woman, and his brother Walt Jr. spiraled out of control. Andy is surprisingly on top of damage control, selling assets to pay for his mom’s living expenses, but is devastated at having to sell the family boat, which his father never let him steer.

Meanwhile, Kevin finds out about Oscar’s affair with Angela’s husband the Senator. Oscar pleads with him to keep it a secret while he sorts things out, but neither man is confident in Kevin’s ability to do so.

  • Blatant Lies: At one point Kevin gets out of spilling the beans by running away shouting that he has to go to the bathroom. Subverted in that he actually does this for real at least once a week.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Oscar and Kevin both fear this applies to the latter, but it’s ultimately averted.
  • "Well Done, Son!" Guy: As Andy makes clear, this no longer applies after what his father did.
