Film: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

This review contains examples of:

  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Part of Team '80s Dan's reaction to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is this:
    '80s Dan: Horrendous!
    Dolly: Poppy shit.
'80s Dan: It's horrendous poppy shit.
  • Call-Back: The Critic references his Top 11 Dumbasses in Distress list when talking about Willy.
  • Damsel Scrappy: In-universe. The Critic considers Willy to be this. In fact, he finds her so annoying that he moves her up in his list of Top 11 Dumbasses in Distress.
  • Double Standard: Invoked. The Critic points out that the scene where Indy, Willie, and Short Round jump out a plane on a rubber raft and, after landing, fall down a waterfall on it, is no less ridiculous than the frequently-derided "nuking the fridge" scene in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
'80s Dan: That was a fridge. This is a raft.
Mr. Crabtree: Yeah, they're totally different.
  • Everybody Has Standards: To emphasize how annoying Willy is, the Critic uses a clip from Batman & Robin.
Batman: This is why Superman works alone.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Or, more accurately, Everybody Laughs Commercial Break, where '80s Dan and his crew laugh and freeze in place for most of the rest of the episode.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Occurs twice, both involving Short Round. First, Mrs. Crabtree calls out the Critic for picking on a child actor, yet agrees with Dolly that Jake Lloyd was bad.
    • Second, the Critic again calls out Short Round moments later:
Critic: Is there anything more annoying than someone that just screams every other line they say? I MEAN, THAT’S REALLY OBNOXIOUS!!!
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction / Overly Long Gag: As the raft falls through the sky, the Critic disbelievingly says, "No", over and over again, getting louder and angrier as he goes. As part of that, he also laughs a little, too.
  • Take That!: A few here.

"I'm a singer! (voice breaking) I could lose my voice!"

Evil Indy likes Midichilorians

In The Nostalgia Critic review of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom, after Indy becomes Brainwashed and Crazy thanks to Mola Ram's Blood of Kali evil juice, to which he starts evilly giggling after the effects take over him, the Critic does an impression of Indy and says, "Midicholorians is a great idea!", before erupting into a hammy Evil Laugh.

How well does it match the trope?
