Release: April 6, 2022.

Film: Hancock

  • "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer: The Critic spots so many parallels between the movie scenes and Will Smith's slap incident that at one point he has to swear he didn't choose that movie on purpose.
  • Reality Subtext:invoked By the Critic's admission, much of the review fell under the shadow of Will Smith (John Hancock) infamously slapping Chris Rock on stage while the latter was introducing the candidates for the Best Documentary Feature award during the 2022 Academy Awards Ceremonies after he made a rather insensitive joke about the buzz-cut hairstyle of Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith (who at the time was suffering from hair loss). As the incident occurred while this episode was already in post-production, the Critic admits that the crew did not have ample time to incorporate verbal jokes about the incident, merely settling for a "Missed Joke" counter.
  • Running Gag: Whenever Hancock says or does something stupid/violent, a "Missed Joke" counter ticks, alluding to the infamous Smith slap incident, accompanied with either a clip of Smith saying "Damn" or a still of said incident.
  • Skewed Priorities: Played for Laughs when Mary reveals that she has superpowers, too, the Critic jokes that the most important question is whether or not she could have opened a pickle jar she'd asked her husband to earlier.
  • So Okay, It's Average: invoked His conclusion about the movie. It had good ideas, but couldn`t quite put them in practice.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Lampshaded in-universe; the Critic makes a disclaimer that this review was planned and finished before the incident where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face, meaning that not only was the choice to review this particular movie a complete coincidence, but they never had the chance to make fun of the many parallels between Hancock and Will Smith post-incident, let alone a whole review dedicated to that.
  • Took the Bad Film Seriously: invoked Critic acknowledges that the actors in general were giving their best, but the material didn't always do them any favors, especially the lines they were given.
