This review contains examples of:

• Alternative Character Interpretation: Invoked; The Nerd and The Critic interpret Raph as being wasted in the video, as in one scene it looks like he can barely keep himself upright, and randomly spouts "Whoa." and "Yeah." while Mikey's talking.
• Big "SHUT UP!": The Critic repeatedly shouts this when the video just keeps going.
• Call-Back: Earlier in the review, the duo mentions that some street names were temporarily changed while the Turtles were performing. One of the fictitious street names mentioned was "Bodacious Boulevard". Later in the review, the Nerd comments on a kid randomly skateboarding across the stage, and guesses that the kid took a wrong turn at Bodacious Boulevard.
  • When alligators appear on stage, the "Big-Lipped Alligator Moment" graphic/sound byte appear, first used in the Fern Gully review.
  • During the scene where Splinter tells the turtles about the power of music, the Nerd notes that he looks like roadkill, the same description he gave him when he reviewed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. In fact, he notes that Splinter looks like "road that's been killed more than in Ninja Turtles III".
• Crossover: With The Angry Video Game Nerd.
• Enemy Mine: Both come together to combat a greater evil: This video.
• Here We Go Again!: After the review The Nerd and Critic start beating the hell out of each other again.
• Ignoring by Singing: The Nerd does this when the video just keeps going.
• Speak in Unison: After taking turns hurling insults at this video, they speak in unison at:
  Critic/Nerd: ...BIGGEST PIECE OF COW DIARRHEA WE HAVE EVER SEEN! "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Coming Out of Our Shells Tour!"
  • When the turtles' ability to play despite having three fingers is discussed:
  Man: Leonardo plays a one string bass, which is great. He gets an amazing sound out of it.
  Critic/Nerd: HOW THE FUCK IS THAT POSSIBLE?!
  • When they figure out what the unstated message behind the turles' songs was:
  Critic/Nerd: BUY OUR FUCKING PRODUCTS!
  • Towards the end of the review:
  Splinter: They are definitely happening... musically.

• Subverted Catchphrase: An odd case. The Nostalgia Critic delivered his Signing Off Catchphrase like usual. However, The Nerd doesn't really have one per se, so when the Critic said, "I remember it so you don't have to," the Nerd awkwardly replied, "And I.... shit on your mom's face."
• Word-Salad Humor: When Michelangelo and Raphael appear to be reduced to shouting random words:
  Critic: Excellent!
  Nerd: Awesome!
  Critic: Radical!
  Nerd: Tubular!
  Critic: Paper!
  Nerd: Olive Garden!
  Critic: The alphabet!
  Nerd: Goat cheese!
