Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 4 E 3 A Pooh Day Afternoon

Go To

Christopher Robin looks after the neighbor's dog, Skippy. Unfortunately, problems arise when Tigger lets Skippy escape.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Ambiguous Syntax: While Christopher Robin, Pooh and Tigger are looking for Skippy and Piglet, Christopher Robin wishes they still had the horn that attracts Skippy. Tigger then does an impressive imitation of the hornnote .
Pooh: Hmm. For a minute, I thought you sounded just like the horn.
Tigger: Really? I can also do a bottle of pop (Squeezing his nose) Gulp. Gulp. Gulp. Gulp. Gulp.
Christopher Robin: If only there was some way to make it louder.
Tigger: (Louder) Gulp! Gulp! Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!
Christopher Robin: I meant the horn sound.
    Tigger: Oh.
  • Big Eater: As Pooh himself points out, Skippy eats two bowls of dog food, both Pooh's and Christopher Robin's sandwiches at lunchtime in a single bite, and a pinecone, to boot.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Gopher's vacuum, used in the beginning during Tigger's magic show, comes in handy to catch Skippy.
  • Doomed Supermarket Display: Happens a few times in the supermarket the gang chases Skippy through.
  • It's All My Fault: After Skippy runs away for a second time Christopher Robin blames himself for everything for not keeping an eye on Skippy as he should have.
  • Stock Sound Effects: Because of who was incharge of them for this episode, a lightsaber ignition sound effect is used when Gopher pops up in Christopher's (unattached) garage, and a Doomed Supermarket Display of cookie boxes collapses to the "junk crash" sound effect from the Looney Tunes cartoons - in a Disney show, no less!
