Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 2 E8b Three Little Piglets

Go To

Pooh and his friends try to tell the story of "The Three Little Pigs", but Rabbit can't seem to make them keep the story on track for various reasons.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes.

  • Acting for Two: In-universe. Piglet plays all three of the titular piglets in the tale.
  • Call-Back: The Masked Offender returns for a moment, only to be ejected from the story by Rabbit.
  • Covered in Gunge: Rabbit gets covered in honey at the end of the episode.
  • Derailed Fairy Tale: Throughout the episode, Pooh, Piglet and Tigger keep mangling the "Three Little Pigs" story they are trying to tell, which annoys Rabbit to no end.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Even Tigger eventually admits that the story is getting off track, which Rabbit agrees to.
  • Fall of the House of Cards: Tigger says that the second little Piglet lived in a house of cards. It gets blown over by Rabbit as the Big Bad Bunny.
  • Fractured Fairy Tale: Definitely. The trope image even comes from this episode, when Piglet 2.0 is standing on top of a house of cards.
  • Gainax Ending: Rabbit ending up covered in the honey from the story.
  • Noodle Incident: When Pooh tries to tell the story at the beginning of the episode, Rabbit admonishes him for the inclusion of a honey tree and states to him that he shoehorns honey in every story he tells, implying that this isn't the first time Pooh has done this.
  • Self-Insert Fic: In-universe, when Tigger attempts (as the Masked Offender) to save the Piglets. Rabbit tells him that he does not belong there, writing Tigger out.
  • Sequel Episode: To "The Monster Frankenpooh", as both revolve around stories being told by the characters and are shorter episodes that end with a Gainax Ending.
  • Shout-Out: Rabbit’s appearance as "the Big, Bad Bunny" is based on Disney’s version of the Big, Bad Wolf.
  • "Stop Having Fun" Guys: In-universe. Rabbit spends the entire episode pushing everyone (especially Tigger) to tell the story accurately.
  • Tyrant Takes the Helm: Rabbit attempts to do this by having the story told as it is supposed to be in the climax. He never gets the chance because a geyser of honey from his basket shoots him sky high.
