Fran throws a singles party while Maxwell is out of town, and Maggie gets blamed for it. Also, Fran is arrested for conducting business in a residential neighborhood.
- Captain Obvious:Val: Fran, you are not gonna believe this. Benny's Clam Bar burned down!
Fran: How?!
Val: A fire! - Chewbacca Defense: Attempted by Uncle Manny, Fran's lawyer uncle played by Milton Berle:Uncle Manny: Sweetheart, isn't that skirt a little snug?
Fran: Well, maybe just a little.
Uncle Manny: You hear that, Your Honor? The skirt is snug. So if it doesn't fit, you must acquit! - Inadvertent Entrance Cue: Parodied when Fran and Val are in the kitchen, upset that they can't get boyfriends... and instead of Max, Brighton walks in.Fran: Have you ever seen Harold and Maude?
- Loophole Abuse: Maxwell said that Maggie couldn't have any parties while he was gone, but said nothing about Fran having parties. He is not impressed by this logic:Maxwell: Don't you start with the semantics.
Fran: Oh, so now you're gonna fire me because you're anti-semantic? - Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?:Jeff: I'm a police officer, and you're under arrest.
Fran: THAT WAS A PISTOL?! - Right Behind Me:Fran: [as Maxwell walks up behind her] Oh, help me to clean up before my father gets home! I mean, your father. Oh, thank God he's not coming back until tomorrow! Could you imagine the look on his face if he got a load of this — [turns around and screams] We've been robbed! Can you imagine what kind of an animal would do something like —
Maxwell: Save it, Miss Fine! - Salem Is Witch Country: Maxwell and C.C. are headed to Boston:Niles: Don't worry, sir. You'll be right near Salem. They know how to take care of her kind there.
- Taking the Heat: Maxwell thinks Fran is trying to do this when she says that it was actually her party. When he says that he'd have to fire her in that case, Maggie steps in and does it for real.
- Terrible Interviewees Montage: Fran has a series of terrible dates at the singles party, culminating with the police officer who arrests her.
- Wild Teen Party: What Maxwell thinks happened while he was out.
- You Are Grounded!: Maggie's punishment for having supposedly thrown the party, preventing her from going to a Nine Inch Nails concert she already had tickets for. At the end, Maxwell announces that Fran is grounded "since you acted like a bloody teenager." She suggests a spanking instead.
