When Beef tries to bond with Jerry to figure out what to get him for Christmas, Jerry's Bigfoot costume gets stolen so they have to work together to find it. Meanwhile, when Ham is too sick to finish making his gingerbread village display for a store, the rest of the Tobins try to finish for him, with disasterous results.

Tropes:

  • Brick Joke: On the way to Dick Chateau's, Jerry says that something is "Po-TAY-to, Po-TOT-o." Potato Patty gets mad and claims that saying is stupid because nobody has ever pronounced it "Po-TOT-oh." When the trio finally meet Dick Chateau, Dick calls her "Po-TOT-oh Patty."
  • Captain Ersatz: One of the mascot costumes Beef recognizes is the old party store’s Barney the Dinosaur knockoff, Blarney.
  • Christmas Episode: The episode takes place on the 23rd of December and ends on Christmas Day.
  • Collector of the Strange: Since he's forbidden to hunt real animals, Dick Chateau resorts to hunting and collecting mascot costumes.
  • Comically Small Bribe: Patty stole Jerry's Bigfoot costume for Dick for $40 and a liter of Pepsi soda.
  • Couch Gag: The boat in the opening is "Return of the Mackerel."
  • Cringe Comedy: Beef invites Jerry to dinner at a steakhouse hoping to figure out what to get him for Christmas, but since they're both usually quiet people, they awkwardly try to have a conversation with each other.
  • Egomaniac Hunter: Dick Chateau was a big game hunter who travelled all over Alaska hunting the animals until Game Warden Burt forbid him from hunting them due to killing some endangered species. Dick was bored until he saw the mascot for the Polar Bear panini shop. He suddenly desired to take the costume and started collecting mascot costumes ever since.
  • Fake Brit: In-Universe. Dick Chateau speaks with a British accent. Jerry asks Beef if Dick is actually British, and Beef confirms Dick is not, he’s originally from Seward, Alaska.
  • Handy Mouth: Because Potato Patty's potato costume limits her arm movements, she got really good using her mouth as a substitute, such as using her mouth to open doors and untying herself from her sack.
  • Janitor Impersonation Infiltration: After Beef and Jerry tracks down's Jerry's missing phone at Winter World and they can't get inside due to being closed because of a private party, Beef gets the idea to get inside by sneaking through the employee entrance and Jerry has them both wear employee costume to blend in.
  • Lethal Chef: With Ham too sick to finish the gingerbread village, Judy, Wolf, Moon, and Honeybee take it to finish Ham's work themselves and they do a terrible job. They forgot to carve the animal shapes into the gingerbread sheet before they baked it and they end up cutting out irregular shapes, they badly decorated the village and used up all the candies so they improvised using pepperoni slices, bird bones, press-on nails, and their kitchen sponge. Finally, they try to make the "wo-menorah" (a large menorah that's being held at the feminist bookstore "Desperately Reading Susan") and light it but it started a fire that burnt half of the village, so Honeybee put the fire out with water that ends up flooding the other half. Ham, not wanting to hurt their feelings, tells them that their work on the village is too beautiful that he could never part with it so he's going to quickly make another village and they can keep their current village for themselves.
  • Motive Rant: When Jerry asks why Dick Chateau would go around and steal mascot costumes, he explains his motive to them while his butler looks annoyed.
  • Mushroom Samba: Beef and Jerry drink some Terry Claus' famous punch to give them confidences to mingle with the partygoers only to discover the punch has zero alcohol and is filled with hallucinogenic mushrooms and they start tripping out.
  • Noodle Incident: As she helps them escape, Karen notes that Beef, Jerry, and Patty are some of the nicest captives Dick has ever had.
  • Ode to Food: The end credits song is about Potato Patty singing about giving potatoes out during Christmas.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is a reference to the traditional Christmas carol "Deck the Halls".
  • Repetitive Name: Dick Chateau calls his home Chateau Chateau.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: Dick takes issue with a polar bear being the mascot of a panini shop:
Dick Chateau: (angry) Why would a polar bear make a hot sandwich?
Jerry: To stay warm or to eat it…
Dick: Please do not respond to my musings!
  • Running Gag: Karen Butler asks Beef, Jerry, and Patty not to Gasp! at what she shows them because it’s her pet peeve. The trio keep freaking out at the sight of the mascot room and at Dick Chateau’s entrance, much to Karen’s annoyance.
  • Servile Snarker: Dick Chateau's butler (whose last name is also Butler) is clearly not too keen on serving him, rolling her eyes as he tells the story of why he collects mascot costumes. She even helps Beef, Terry and Patty escape with the Bigfoot costume.
  • Shout-Out: The feminist bookstore they have in Lone Moose is called "Desperately Reading Susan".
  • Sick Episode: Ham gets sick before he can finish his gingerbread house display. Judy, Moon, Wolf and Honeybee try to finish it, with disastrous results.
  • Too Dumb to Live: After the end of the episode, Beef and Jerry do a "Christmas dip", where they take a quick dip in cold water, while they're wearing wetsuits. Wolf decides to join them by taking his shirt off and jumping in too despite Beef telling him not to.

♫ Potatoes are the reason for the season
They're awful nice and warm when you're freezin'
Give one to your pal Janet and one to that guy Steven
Potatoes, they're the food we can believe in
Wrapped up in foil, under the tree
A potato for little Timmy
Get your sweetheart a tuber from the ground
They'll come around
When they see that Christmas tater mound
Potatoes are the reason for the season
Potatoes, they're the food you can believe in. ♫
