The One Where a Nazi Gets Punched

Maia is leaving the firm and gets hired to do phone consultations. Jay and Lucca are sent to observe a voting poll. Blum has inserted himself into a class action suit and puts his dietician on the stand to testify that he worked at the insurance company that used information gathered by Second Helix.

A group of Neo Nazis called Red Jackets arrive at the voting poll to scare away black voters. Lucca sends their pictures to Diane, whose Resistance friends doxx them, while Jay calls Naomi. The Neo Nazis accuse Naomi of doxxing them and a riot breaks out. Maia goes to job interviews that go nowhere. She burns her bridges by declining Lucca's offer of going out to dinner together and telling her they were just work friends.

Tropes

  • As the Good Book Says...: Apparently the opposing counsel in the Second Helix case compared himself to David and Reddick-Boseman to Goliath before our main characters got to court so repeatedly that the judge is sick of it when he does it again.
  • Everyone Has Standards: One of the Republican lawyers pretends that the lead Red Jacket just slipped and fell after Jay punches him in the bathroom. Then both Republican lawyers join in on the I Am Spartacus routine when Jay and Lucca claim to have doxxed the Red Jackets to divert their attention from Naomi.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Jay punches a Nazi.
  • Irony: A voter in a marijuana T-shirt is assumed to be a Democrat, so the Republican lawyers argue against him being allowed to vote in that shirt, while Lucca argues that he can just take off his shirt. He does, and it turns out he has a swastika tattoo.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Jay compares the current mood to Lord of the Flies.
    • In sensitivity training, Liz and Diane are asked if they like Prince and Roma.
    • Liz expected Diane to be more the Renee Fleming type.
  • Shout-Out to Shakespeare: Adrian's judge girlfriend thinks Blum is like a Shakespeare character.
