Shaun and Morgan grapple with a terminal cancer patient who is determined to live the last few months of his life without inhibition. Morgan is forced to face her past when her mother turns up sick at the hospital. Shaun tries to find a way to satisfy Carly


  • A Day in the Limelight: Morgan's personal life and her family takes on a lot more focus in this episode.
  • Dramatic Irony: Oliver is cured of cancer at the end of the episode, but he lost his wife because of his actions, and now he doesn't seem to have a clue about what to do with his life.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Despite being a doctor, Morgan does not seem to receive much respect from part of her family, because according to them being a doctor does not require creativity.
  • Like You Were Dying: Oliver, the Patient of the Week, has been diagnosed with cancer and has a short lifespan. He decides to enjoy his last days living dangerously and doing crazy things, much to his wife's displeasure.
  • Sexual Euphemism: Shaun prefers to refer to orgasms as "parades".
  • Your Days Are Numbered: Oliver's motivation for him to do the dangerous things he does in this episode.
