Recap / The Fairly Odd Parents S 6 E 15 Wishing Well

Go To

Jorgen, feeling that Timmy has become too obsessed over wishing, sentences him to a rehab camp where he has to face his fears and do tasks without wishes.

Tropes:

  • Absurd Phobia: Dwight's biggest fear is harpoons, because he once dreamt he was a whale and a harpoon "wanted [his] blubber".
  • An Aesop: Magic cannot fix every problem.
  • Expy: Molly, being a somewhat surly and bad-tempered but ultimately friendly goth girl, almost feels like a younger version of Sam Manson from Danny Phantom, another Butch Hartman show. They are even both voiced by Grey DeLisle.
  • Face Your Fears: This is one of the trials of Wishing Well, proving you can face your fears without using your fairies.
  • Goth: Molly wears a black t-shirt with a skull print, a dark beanie, has bangs and has the surly and introverted personality of a stereotypical goth.
  • Hates Being Touched: Molly gets really upset when people touch her. At the end, it's revealed that she got it from her fairy godmother, who has the same issue.
  • One-Shot Character: Dwight, Molly and their godparents only make their appearances in this episode.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: Timmy, Dwight and Molly end up making a team like this, as Timmy and Dwight are both boys and Molly is the only girl.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: One of the trials the kids with "Over Wishing Disorder" have to go through in Wishing Well includes facing your greatest fear. As such, Timmy, Dwight and Molly all get one:
    • Timmy's is, obviously, Vicky.
    • Dwight's is harpoons because of a weird nightmare he had once.
    • Molly's is, funnily enough, actually snakes.
