Season 3, Episode 10:
Dandelion Sky
The Thomas Prince enters the Ring. Tensions rise between Drummer and Ashford. Holden continues towards the ring station, accompanied by Miller. A Martian team including Bobbie follow him.
Tropes:
- Apocalypse How: Class X-2: Holden sees this happen to a solar system in the past caused by the ring station firing a beam of energy into it, causing it to go nova.
- Ate His Gun: Lieutenant Nemoroff commits suicide in this way.
- Boarding Party: The Martian troops plan to board and arrest the crew of the Rocinante.
- Buffy Speak: Drummer refers to the nucleus as the "thing in the middle", and Miller tells Holden there is "stuff" inside.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: The Martian lieutenant gets one of these when, after he throws a grenade inside the station, the station proceeds to lift him into the air and disassemble him before absorbing him into the station’s structure in response - basically replacing all the station matter that he destroyed with the grenade.
- Euphemism Buster: When another officer describes Nemoroff's death as a weapon-cleaning accident, Anna immediately and explicitly identifies it as a euphemism for suicide.
- Portal Network: Holden sees one of these in his vision.
- Wave-Motion Gun: The ring station fires a beam of energy into a star, through one of its rings, causing it to go nova and destroy an entire solar system.
