Urpgor creates a shrink-ray and shrinks the Urpneys in order to stealthily slip into the Dream Maker's house, then shrink the Dreamstone and take it. The plan fails altogether when Albert swallows the shrink-ray and drives the Urpneys out.

- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: The shrink ray has this effect when put on reverse too long. The Urpneys suffer this in the end when the mended one does too well a job growing them back, making them hit the roof of Viltheed.Frizz: Very funny, Urpgor! Very funny!
- Comically Lop Sided Rivalry: Rufus vs Amberley at chess. Every last move Rufus makes fails miserably. Fittingly, the chess set is made to represent the show's cast, with Rufus using the villain side and Amberley using the hero one.
- Early-Bird Cameo: A literal example with the Jolly Bird, who won't be properly limelighted again until halfway into Season Four.
- The Easy Way or the Hard Way: After the shrunken Urpneys are cornered with the Dreamstone, the heroes enquire whether they want to give it back or deal with a "hungry" Albert. Blob still refuses though after the stone grows back and crushes him, the decision is made for him.
- Incredible Shrinking Man: The Urpneys and later Rufus, thanks to Urpgor's ray.
- Ineffectual Death Threats: The heroes threaten to let Albert eat the Urpneys unless they surrender the stone. After the Urpneys retreat, they commend Albert for his acting skills.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: Frizz and Nug when cornered by the heroes. Subverted by Blob at first, though when the stone is taken back anyway, they make a retreat.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Frizz, upon learning that Urpgor is going to use the ore that he and Nug have been extracting.
- Shrink Ray: Urpgor's invention.

- The Urpney trio give Urpgor a brief one before using the ray on him.
- They face several of these themselves when surrounded in their shrunken state, in particular the one Rufus gives when the beam reverses and makes him gigantic.
- Unexplained Recovery: By the time the Urpneys are chased back into the house by the unshrunk Jolly Bird, Rufus is unshrunk as well. Supposedly Albert's ray hit him as well.
